      It’s such a shame that too many body repairs are done as badly as this one. Criminal that there are shops that get away with this and remain in business so they can continue to do such bad work and shoddy repairs. If my uncle, a true professional body man who owned his own shop for over 45 years, saw this he’d have had a melt down.

  • @RoryStarr
    @RoryStarr Год назад +7

    My ex's father did years of custom body work and painting (mostly motorcycles). He refused to wear a mask and had to leave the industry in his 30s from the scarring and sensitization in his lungs. He was dying by his mid 40s and chose to take himself out rather than suffer through anymore wheezing. So, I'm glad to see you wearing a mask. I wouldn't wish the way he was on anyone.

    1:17 A respirator is a good start, but you also need :
    1) Aspiration at the source (you can use a Shop-Vac with fine dust filters)
    2) A proper fit test every 2 years (or more) to find the right mask. Looking at you, your mask seem a little small and loose. Cheers from an EH&S expert/teacher from Québec, Canada.

    It really is the car that keeps giving 🙂
    Scary what potential bodged previous body work repairs lay hidden that you may not know about until the rust appears and you end up start peeling back the layers.
    I guess if you were buying in person you could check with a magnet, which would be time consuming but might revel some areas that have been fiilled but wouldn't of course show where panels have been replaced but badly wielded together.

  • @nodekapunk

    I am a used car dealer, not so big just small scale, but usually before buying a used car I will first inspect the body of the car, with light tapping the body (from the sound can be known whether the car has putty or not) or with a magnet, you know the magnet will not stick to the body with thick putty, usually the car owner will do a quick repair before selling, they will say that the car is not an accident, and waves in the car body usually when body repair put putty directly on the body without painting primer first, the best way to paint is bare metal, sand it, put putty, wait until it dries, sand it again put second primer, base paint, second layer paint( or more) clear coat then end with polishing it, with stages like this will make your car paint more durable
    And I know jack is a body repair master
