Honestly, it seems like Barret Jackson is not worth it anymore. Shipping the cars, seller's fee, and the entrance fee is just too much of a loss for the very limited amount of exposure compared to online selling platforms like cars and bids where the fees are more manageable and typically the buyer pays for shipping the cars.
Seems like more of a place for high-value classics considering the demographic which attends. Logistically it just seems like an inconvenient charade compared to selling online.
The auction business is the money maker in all of this. They get entry fees, buyer's premiums, and seller's fees. Win-win-win. And at B-J, the cars all sell at no reserve so they know they're getting their take.
For super expensive cars it is, not normal cars
Having a buyers fee and a sellers fee is taking the biscuit IMHO.

Damn you, I can''t unsee that 🤣
Haha, you are right! He's got to get a new badge, why would someone remove that iconic badge?
Omfg it does.
@@volvo09Perhaps, it had been in a front end collision (like 90% of the Vipers) and got repainted afterwards consequently missing the badge.
hahahah Now I can't unsee that. Cappuccino with side pipes and a roll bar.
You can see the pain in Tyler's eyes. Hope he's got the right people around him to also keep an eye out for him during these times. He definitely looks like he needs a good rest.
he looks sic.
The divorce is destroying this guy… a matter of time until his completely bankrupt

This man reveals to the world on his channel. I think once upon a time the world was a little kinder to him. I hope Tyler gets a lucky break soon. I think he's seen a lot of kindness.
ok BUT he advertises companies that RUclips has said many months b4 he did it that Est Titles is a scam but worded so well its not illegal but its a HongKong Company that has zero affiliation with Scotland, but its one company that pays upfront and a % from each customer and he advertises betting Apps also not illegal but shows his character but nothing IMO shows him in a bad light is when EuroAsian Bob asked him not to use the bastardized version of his name, so for someone to ask you outright not to do it and you still call them by that name shows a total lack of character and is not a friend id like to have
Tyler can start a new chapter of his life. He will be fine. Positive thoughts man. Making room for new cars and a new life.

Aww man, I've never been able to feel hoovies pain through a vid - he's always so 'up'. This video really got me. I feel for him. Hope he gets through this quickly. Not a nice situation to be in.
He doesn’t look like he has eaten for a month without throwing up.
Well when you only buy broken cars and sell the only fun and reliable things you have you’re probably gonna remain stressed out for eternity. Why sell that z06 that’s a car that’s a no brainer to hang onto ?
Thank you Hoovie for taking us along! Was awesome to see the auction and your experience with it. Sucks with the damage, but always appreciate your honesty and transparency. Love the channel!
Sorry you didn’t get some bigger numbers, especially on the Corvette, however I think you are right it’s a sign the market is adjusting back to reality. With that said, I liked the format at the auction, it provided a real world perspective on auctions and car ownership. I think you are possibly on to something with the occasional Hoovie’s auction episode, giving the ordinary guy a real perspective into the car auction business. From trials and tribulations can sometimes come new opportunity.
To make money on cars you have to own them a lot more than a few months or a year even. That is, unless your business is in the restoration/fix-up of the cars, in which case you still don't make huge sums...unless you hold on to them for long enough to let their overall values have time to rise.
@@pistonburner6448Fully agree, I simply liked the honestly with which he presented this. We see far too many car shows, or read too many stories about cars selling above MSRP or some some old car selling at a ridiculous price at auction. I recognize those things do happen, but what Tyler presented here is more representative for the typical car guy.
No it's karma. He said the white c8 Z06 sold for 250k. His broad took his stones. She should be on the street waiting tables. That Bentley bentayga should have been the first car sold. Most of you men are tools these chicks are FAR more ruthless
It was a bit of bite considering what the one before sold for. Otherwise, I would say that was the one that did fine.
It made me laugh to see Tyler lose
Tyler....I give you credit for sharing all the numbers with us. So many "shows" don't share what they paid or sold at (Dennis Collins Coffee Walk comes to mind) when it would be great to know. Anyway, hang in there bud. Better days are just over the horizon!
Dennis’s business is buying and selling where Hoovies is RUclips.
two different kind of businesses
I agree. People are most often dishonest about what they paid for a car, and what they sell it for. Don't want to look like fools.
Yeah, they don't like to say what they paid so they can screw the next guy. But yeah, it always ticks me off when these guys won't talk dollars. We watch because we want to pretend we could buy some of them. Hoovie is great.
@boyracer3477 well Hoovie is primarily a youtuber where Dennis is primarily a car flipper. It would be dumb for Dennis to show people his cost.
That auctioneer worked so hard for that bronco. Damn.
Was that a long last call at $7,000?
Man that's crazy some caprice cop car was about to go for like $3500 at a local and some others reluctantly started bidding because it was pretty cheap. That ended up going for $7000
Hoovie is such a "good egg"... giving out money to people at Xmas ... supporting his friends... At the end of the day he should have no regrets... He still has over 1.5 million subscribers and his grand mothers Mercedes Benz. I must say that game show "price is right" with all his friends was very entertaining! haha --- way to go Hoovie!
The C8 Z06’s 2 detractors: convertible and no Z07 package. The Z07 is unobtanium at the moment and exactly what actual track users want.
I really feel like Cars & Bids or some other online platform would be a much much better place to sell cars. Way more potential buyers and Hoovie's name can add value to the cars.
He always seems to take a lost when using this auction route.
Yes, but I think making a video about selling cars at an auction probably does much better than a different thing
Cars & Bids only accepts cars from 1980 and newer... so only two of the four he sold would qualify to go up on that site.
@@LM-id1bb This is actually at Barrett Jackson.
@@aguruattapiano Next time he sells something on Cars & Bids he should do a livestream watchalong for the final hour or so. Would probably get a decent number of views and drum up some interest.
@@LM-id1bb all good!! We all have them days!
Well in this case the RUclips revenue is the one covering the losses, if it wasn't for that it would be bad.
We're for you Hoovie ❤
Yes, him fixing and building cars is what makes his channel. It's all paid off obviously.
That Bronco sure was a SLICE of Americana!
The transparency and honesty is appreciated as usual Mr. Hoovie!
That's why he failed as a car dealer lol (not a bad thing!)
I have to say, losing some money or breaking even on cars that you got to enjoy owning and using, it's not a loss to me. You get the gains of having experienced owning those cars. Not so bad!
Totally Agree. I owned a 1969 Road Runner convertible for 12 years. Bought it for 35K and sold it for 40K technically didn't make as much as I could have (sold it ten years ago) but I enjoyed the heck out of it.
I think you’re a legend mate, what you’ve been through and taking a loss and you still smile, you’re an inspiration to others. Love the content and your outlook on life. Pukka 👌🏼
That hurt, watching that. Like Tyler, I lost nearly everything I had worked for my entire life in a divorce. I worked non-stop, both paid and after hours to make money, renovate houses, odd jobs etc, all to achieve my lifelong goal of buying a little farm. Three years later it was gone. The product of 15 years of my literal sweat and blood was gone, and I'll never be able to get it back. You'll probably never read this Tyler, but there's hundreds of thousands of men in the Hoovieverse who have been where you are and felt what you're feeling. We've got your back, and respect what you've built and how you're moving through this. Strength to you mate.
American auctioneers seem to just make gibberish noises like a kid doing an impression of quagmire...very different over here in Europe.
I would have had to have walked out of there, it was almost too painful to listen to with a volume switch to hand, Americans always have to be so ridiculously over the top.
Wizard really does complement Tyler, he's just a lovely guy and endlessly patient.
I'd be pretty patient with my highest paying customer too
I totally agree he's better on here than his own channel hoovie brings his character out
He must be making bank with his channel. He's spending money like a drunken sailor.
I like Tyler because he’s not shy about what things cost whether he’s buying or selling or repairing. I appreciate knowing all that as a arm chair novice.
I think if that vette was a different color it would have brought more $$$. The charger is a daily driver being how spacious it is, definitely would have kept it .
Yeah, I have to think the kind of person who pays 50k over list maybe doesn't want a subtle colour, they want to show off.
I wonder what the red C8 brought that Hoovie's was sitting next to?
He probably doesn't care as much about how much extra $$$ is sells for. It will just be more money to pay his ex wife.
Watching Hoovie's lip quiver when the bidding stalled... I was worried - But l love his channel and his honestly! - Remember, there is always next time!
Only Hoovie would say "$122k... someone's being cheap" lol I was dying 😅
He was talking about the 2k increments. He didn't say $122k he said 2k
Yeah, that was me. If $2k gets it, the internet can call me Mr. Cheap, I'll even get the personalized plates.😃
@@Revolauncher let's see some videos of it then

No wedding ring. Tyler is a really good guy and we hope the best for his future. God bless you young man!
Auctions are crazy. Can't believe they've made it standard practice to charge a BUYERS and a SELLERS fee!
Making $$ coming and going
Look at the massive production it takes to run that auction. So many people working to make it happen the convention centers are huge too.
I bet that’s not the only time you’ve caught the Wizard polishing his Viper
Yes, the wizard looks like the type of guy who polishes whenever he gets a chance
That was hilarious! How he stopped and backed up like he got caught 😂
I remember them calling the OJ car “John Elway” because it was famous for being a “slow Bronco”.
This auction is so exciting with Hoovie right there. I only wish his cars brought more for him but it is exciting to see the risk he took to do this. Wow. This channel rules!
I think we all feel your pain with what you are going through but remember we are all sending you our love and support. Stay strong Hoovie
So what is happening? I clearly missed something
Poor hoovie. He looks like he aged 10 years overnight

I think he will be better off long term, he appears a descent person.
He will bounce back
Having an ungrateful, physically abusive ex-wife will do that to you.

These videos of you auctioning your own cars and giving full disclosure on pricing are some of my favorite vids you put up. Hope to see more in the future (under better circumstances though)
Sad to see you going through all this personal pain Tyler, but rest assured despite all the ups and downs, irregular posting schedules, your incredulous buying and selling decisions, we'll stick with you.
I'm not sure about the pain, sounds like he should be glad to get rid of her. But there is always a big costs to guys and divorce, there should be some big changes there. There is truly no positive to men getting married these days.
Poor Hoovie looks broken.
This is what happens to you when you marry a Vietnamese Restaurant worker. Back in Vietnam they call those type of girls village bicycles. Everybody gets a ride. She has taken literally half of everything he owns. He's having to sell off his cars. and has had to move out of the house. The worst part about it Is that she is cheating on him to this day and the whole community knows. His parents warned him about her, and they were right.
Hoovie: As a 50 year old man and car lover who will likely never be able to afford a "dream car", at first I found your channel annoyingly braggard. As I watched more episodes however you grew on me. After over 3 years now of watching your episodes I became a fan. This was a great episode as it shows your honesty in disclosing "win some you lose some!" - Kudos $$$ bags : )
Similar story here, at first I couldn't really stand the "showing off" , or what I perceived as that, but stayed for the cars, and over the last few years learned to like him and his presenting style. Best for me are the interactions with the "weeezard", love those episodes.
ok
Good luck, Hoovie! 🙂
Your life has just began ! Enjoy the new adventures
Just in case anyone is concerned about the losses, his videos bring in about 16k a month and his sponsorships bring in about 5k per video. He can also claim the loss on his taxes to lower his taxable income. So he’s up regardless of the loss. The divorce on the other hand….
Must be earning more than that. You can’t be buying Countach’s, Maybachs and Ferrari’s on 250K a year.

Interesting to see the rationalization Roundup at the end. Hoover lost his shirt but desperately tried to convince himself that he did just fine.
He might of lost his shirt but that is less money his ex wife gets.
@@2004RADMAN it depends. She'll get what the appraised value of the assets are NOT what they're actually worth/sell for. He's selling this to raise the cash so he can keep some.
For eg: if that z-06 was appraised at $220,000.00 he has to put up the extra $50 to buy his wife out. What they do is take the appraised value, divide by 2 that that is the dollar figure she gets. PERIOD. The only way around it is to sell them all and divvy up the cash.
What the real shame is the house. If he paid $800K for it, and it accrued to $1.2M he'll have to foot the bill for the difference or sell it and split the difference.
@DisinterestedSimp Sad to say it but marriage is a mug's game.
@@muskokamike127 Hoovie is ***** either way. Has to sell what HE worked for and created while his ex-wife lives in the family home with her commie family from Vietnam. The biggest disaster ever to occur in the USA was not the Twin Towers terrorist attack or some natural disaster - it was the advent of the no-fault divorce, which absolved anybody of responsibility for the breakup of a marriage and divided all assets equally. There needs to be accountability, and if you're unhappy and want to *** somebody else, by all means leave - but you have to pay the consequences. With the current system, you can be totally honest, hardworking, and innocent of any wrongdoing, and your spouse can be ****ing owls and take the house, half your money, get child support and alimony. And you can't do a thing except pay, pay, pay. Hoovie will no doubt land on his feet; hope he gets a blonde chippy and lives the life of Riley.
@DisinterestedSimp yup....
A cousin of mine bought his house off his mother when she moved across the country for a song. paid it off in 5 yrs. Then his long term live in gf bailed on him and it had accrued by $500K. He had to take a mortgage out for $250K to pay her off.
It's that time again. Let's check it out...

I thought the same thing hoovies was so much better looking I bet if his went up first he would’ve got the 250k
I believe he said the white one was a Z07
The white car was a lot better looking. Hoovies car was a Camry color with a red interior. Whomever spec'd it was an idiot. If you like silver on red, that's fine, but realize no one is ever going to buy it so make sure it's a forever car, or you don't mind taking a loss.
@@herranton I didn’t realize it was a zo7 now I can see why it brought in more money and yea honestly I do like silver on red but I probably wouldn’t have chose it on a vette but over the white vette yes I’m just glad he still made somewhat of a profit on it
When it rains, it pours
2 things Tyler helped shed light on:
1- Big live auctions buyers have moved on - it is basically a TV/Motortrend content maker now.
2- Inflated Muscle car bubble has popped.
