- A review of one of our favourite sites to visit in the South Lakes.
Holgates Silverdale has great facilities and all pitches are fully serviced. The site is family run and has won lots of awards, it is kept spotless and clean and is a great location to explore the South Lakes.
Love Holgates and the surrounding area. The Woodlands Hotel (Woodies) in Silverdale is a great quirky pub. Nice lickle video ;)

Good site review. Would be interested to know how you level your caravan on that type of sloping pitch please? What do you use? And how you go about levelling on a more sloping pitch? Thanks

Thanks Martin for this one. (Catching up). We have been looking at this site to go with Alfie and possibly on our own too.. Good insight and review. Juliet and Phil. Have visited the station at Carnforth. We did a film on it a while ago and didn't realise we where so close to Holgates.
It’s not one of the cheapest sites but has things to do for children and is always clean, handy for south lakes. 👍

Thank you for this video. We leave tomorrow to go to Holgates Silverdale and we are new to caravanning. I'm a little nervous about towing along those lanes! It was good to see what the pitches are like in advance. A lot look to be quite sloping, I'm wondering which section will be the easiest for us to pitch.
It’s just the first lot of pitches on the left that are really uneven. If you carry on further up the park they are fairly level. The lanes are not that bad, the route I showed is ok. You will love Holgates, it’s a great site. Enjoy 👍
Ok, we'll drive straight past those then. I'm really looking forward to it, it's our first proper holiday in the caravan - we had a practice weekend 2 wks ago in the snow and wind - so it can only get easier from there!
Up by the second toilet block is the quietest. I’m sure you will get the hang of everything, but please feel free to message me through my Facebook page if you have any questions, I’m not an expert, just like helping fellow caravaners.
We had a great time! Holgates is a really great site. We had the second pitch after the second shower block. Needed a little levelling but nothing we couldn't manage. Met traffic on the lanes, in a tricky spot, but luckily no other caravans. Thanks again for your video, it helped us a lot.

Bet Ur on a good little earner here!! ,Place is well dear , they should charge per van not per person..
On sites like this you pay for the facilities which is comparable to other sites of this with this level of facilities. Thanks for watching.
