I just purchased dcent hard wallet last week. Can anyone let me know why this doesn’t come with a cable for the computer to charge. Did I buy a fake one?
Great review Crypto Dad! I’ve seen you review and talk alot about hardware wallets, would you share which one is your ideal wallet for security or even overall ranking?
Hi. First... Thank you for your content. What would happen to the coins and tokens in the d'cent wallet if there was a global blackout, lasting several days without internet? Would the data remain intact? Would it be possible to access them automatically after the system returns? Thank you in advance for your attention.
Hello Crypto dad, I recently received my decent wallet. I am setting it up when I get to the Bluetooth my iPhone and the decent device doesn’t connect. Keeps saying connecting but nothing pops up. Maybe my iPhone 12 is old. I have Bluetooth connection on other devices just not the decent. Not sure what I am doing wrong?
Just watched your D’Cent Wallet video which I enjoyed and have since subscribed to your channel. I’m new to crypto and wallets. I created a Coinbase account to initially hold my purchases until I got my wallet. Question… If I have a Coinbase account and a D’Cent wallet, if I want to take some profits from my crypto stored on the wallet, do I have to transfer it back to my Coinbase account to take the profits? I think I do but I’m too new to assume anything. Thanks!
That is correct. In order to take profits, you're going to need to trade that crypto. And you can only do that on an exchange like Coinbase. Now some wallets have trading features built in, but they're basically exchanges that are running as 3rd party services within the wallet. For example, when you hit the "exchange" button in your D'cent app, it's going to take you through some steps and eventually direct you to sign up for some 3rd party service. Which will require you to submit IDs and usually a "selfie" You're much better off using an exchange that you can trust. like the place you bought it.
How do I get Chiliz BEP2 from DCENT wallet before BNB chain fusion. I tried exchanging it into other coins but no luck. I need to switch to another chain??? The easiest way please or into any other coin ( iso or top coins)
@CryptoDad Hey so I have a question what happens if I bought the same coin years apart with two transactions and the price goes up how can I withdraw my oldest transaction and leave the new transaction untouched or will the wallet average out the price of the sum total ?
Hey man I just did my initial set up with seeded phrase, but I had the decent wallet powering up from my laptop. Do you think my seed phrase is compromised?
If you just bought a new iPhone and are not moving dcent app to new Iphone but leaving it on old Iphone after removing sim card. Will the app still work on the old iPhone with no sim card that can no longer make or receive phone calls since sim card was moved to new iPhone? Thank you
Hi bro Ive noticed about 12 unauthorized transactions on my decent wallet...hbar..each for 0.00000001 everyday for last 12 days..how do I report and stop this?..thx
Hey, I’m looking to grab some iota but all the exchanges I use or have access to don’t support it. Using a dcent wallet can I swap out a token for iota directly from the wallet and is that the real authentic iota and not wrapped iota?
If someone had access to your phone, they can change biometric wallet to app wallet in the app. Then they can send the crypto anywhere they want, making the wallet useless.
I know on an IOS phone they can't get into the app without facial recognition. So they wouldn't be able to get into the app and change anything. Not sure about Android.
Hi there, I have watched alot of your videos and found them very insightful and informed. However I cannot find a video on how to withdraw money from the keplr wallet to a Bank account. Any quick tips. It's all very confusing at the moment.
You cannot withdraw cryptocurrency out of a wallet directly to your bank account. You're going to need to withdraw your cryptocurrency to a place where you can trade it for cash, such as Coinbase or Kraken. After that, you can sell your crypto and then withdraw the cash to your bank account from the exchange. Every exchange allows you to connect your bank account directly. But there is no way to connect a crypto wallet directly to a bank account. Banks do not accept Bitcoin or any other crypto.
Hi, I am wondering if any one can help, since I had no look yet from D'CENT, which it doesn't seems to have a Decent customer support. All of a sudden on DOT account it shows 0 Balance despite there are some DOT into the account. Is this normal? I have the latest firmware and reloaded many times but it still shows zero and when I go into the Details History from the app it says "A temporary error has occurred. Please try again later" It has been like this for two days. Still no reply from D'CENT.
Well, I would check to see if there's an outgoing transaction from your dot account. that would indicate that some one has gained access to your wallet. Most likely from finding your seed phrase. However, if it's simply a technical glitch, you could try reinstalling the descent app on your phone. You'll just need to re sync it to your device. Worst case scenario is you can get a new device and restore using your seed phrase. But if you didn't reveal your seed phrase to anyone, then I'm assuming it's just a temporary glitch.
@@CryptoDad thank you for your reply. I tried what you suggested but did not work. Luckily no one gained access to the wallet. D'CENT contacted me eventually, saying that there was a temporary error in the DOT blockchain network API service, so that balance enquiry and transaction were not possible, but it has been fixed and resumed as normal. So I am guessing there has been quite few people experiencing the same issue. At least it has been resolved. Thanks again for your concern.
If you have forgotten your code, then my suggestion is to transfer all of your crypto out of the wallet and do a full reset. Because at some point you're going to need that code. It's very important that you do not forget your code. So sometimes the fingerprint fails. After you have set up the device with a new access code, you can put your crypto back in there. but don't wait around until the fingerprint fails and you lose access to your device.
@@CryptoDad Thank u for responding so quickly.Really appreciated. I am new to the whole hardware wallet thing but I learn fast. Do u think I should try the remaining tries or just reset it all together? The reset is via device wipe if I understand correctly? The code to the app and the code to the wallet are the same or no? Thank u sir.🙏
@@DarkKnight-sr5sm the only thing I’m worried about is your seed phrase. Am hoping you know where it is so that you can do a restore, but I have encountered several people that have written it down incorrectly and thus lost access to their crypto. Thus, my suggestion was that you transfer your crypto somewhere else first just to be on the safe side. You’ll lose a little bit in transfer fees, but you’ll gain a lot in peace of mind.
That's great, but have you verified that it works? I'd hate for you to wipe the device and then find out that you have an invalid seed phrase that you wrote down incorrectly. You can always go to this website: iancoleman.io/bip39/ and check your seed phrase to make sure it's valid. I would definitely use the offline method. Just scroll down to offline use. The only reason I'm telling you all this is because I don't want you to simply reset your device and then lose access to your crypto and then get mad. Always check and double check everything you're doing. And please please, don't forget your new access code after you set up the new device. And if you just keep trying your remaining tries and fail, it's going to automatically reset before you've had a chance to transfer your crypto off. Your seed phrase might be fine, and I'm just being overly cautious, but I just don't want you to lose any of your crypto over this.
@@rigged8201 yeah, I had to update the phone and log in to wifi. It was temperamental with the phone internet connection. Moved it to somewhere else anyway.
