After all these years, why didn’t I know that Boy Abunda had a Tedx talk???
Same!!!
SAME
Same
Yeah me too
Same here!
Why did RUclips recommended it only after 3 years? This is worth to watch!
Sameee!!!!
Hahahah same

Everybody is talking how it was recommended after 3 years but can we appreciate how clear his diction and pronunciation is?
Theres a time for everything.
Clearer still is his vision.
Ilove you po

What for?
A president is a PERSON who represets a nation and not a certain gender.
galaxyEverAftr89 exactly
Perdaughter
Eh bobo mga pilipino
XxGloomy SkyxX legit
Right
why cant we have a gay president? it shouldnt matter because we shouldn't choose our presidents based on sexual preference, we should choose based on competence regardless of gender. i pray we don't vote for people just because they are gay or just because they are ilocano, just because they grew up poor or any other label we may put on people, i pray we judge people as an individual and seek competence, leadership and empathy so we can have the best and brightest at the helm of the country.
icarus gie , you are absolutely right.
Yup... that's why, we choose DUTERTE because he is not coward... He is competent as a LEADER in our dying country.... I am not from Davao City.... I'm judging him by the way he lead his own City.
@Jeffrey Pinsoy id rather have that president who youre pertaining to as abnoy who is mentally ill but is compassionate towards filipino people rather than a sane president who's actually a wolf in a sheep's clothing.
We can have a gay president if we have a qualified one, question is, there was no gay candidate, i don't mind voting for a gay candidate as long as he has the merit.
@@patatas555 I don't think so. As long as, among the candidates, he/she is the most sincere, the most qualified, and the most likeable, Filipinos will vote for that person. Religious groups might be questionable, though.
@@facelesstrader1351 Miriam didn't win and she was the most qualified and most sincere, not the most likeable though. Most Filipinos just go with the flow, bet on who's the crowd-favorite...
Pein Legacy he didn't win because he is dying
Sir Boy Abunda, Did a TED TALK ? Seriously ? This is so underrated.
Women should not be shadows and extensions of men.
--- Great line.
God said they must be.
Those lines offer many excuses to breed arguments and confusion to destroy the works and plans of God.
Nor vice versa.
@@princeneo777 So what do you mean?
Yuh, your Bible treats Woman as property
@@cosmicskepticfangirl1356 so you are assuming im a theist.
It’s like boy is trying to explain the immaturity of our society
I think it's my fifth time watching this. Boy reminds me of what I can be, he encourages me, and through his talk in this video, he pushes me to do good, and to "Always love my Nanay".
Like
I didnt know we had Tedtalk here in PH. I missed a lot
well, this is "TEDx" -> locally organized.
Samme
Yes, we do. May I recommend Joey Ayala's version of our National Anthem? Really interesting.
We have been all summoned today after 3 years
I think if you can see his message in a deeper meaning, for me it only implies that whoever you are, no matter what community that you are in, the most important thing is, you must have the traits of a great leader.
Tito Boy really just woke me up
Figuratively and Literally
Welcome to the "After 3 Years Club".
For you to know you have to be me. But, since you cannot let me tell you that we are not half. We are whole.

A president doesn’t represent a gender but the country
Balasyajan.. 🤣
Pero bawal pa rin bakla or tomboy
@@midorimashintaro2613 who told you that?pls cite a law about that.
True bro
People commenting " it's not about gender, it's about the qualifications" or "di naman kasi gender ang basehan" clearly missed the point of this wonderful talk.
kadalasan sila yung pinaka nag eexcel sa lahat ng bagay so why becoming a president isn’t possible? antay lang tayo
Ian Vargas lalaki ang nag eexcel boy
*kadalasan. Press X to doubt
Hahaha sana nilagay for all gender ang presidency.
simple. gay people are a minority in our country. our country is also traditionalist and greatly affected by religion.plus what candidate has marked himself as gay? none at the moment.maybe in the far future.
damn the way he speaks, it sounds so clear and smart
'Even beauty queens drink' got me. Haha!
December 13, 2019 watching. Tito Boy is a very good speaker.
let's be honest here, we didn't find the video, the video found us.
I agree.
so that's the answer to the legendary question: why appear after 3 years?
makes me wanna laugh!
Lets hear the truth...
*You did not search for this*
Know your Bible and the truth will set you free.
I search of this but not THIS i was surprised honestly
I did but didn't expect it will show up. It's great!
I'm only on TED ED not this.
@@princeneo777 shut up
Didn't know Boy Abunda did a TED Talk until September, 2024.
He sets the standards in public speaking ❤
If Presidents are as SMART, PROFESSIONAL,and as PASSIONATE as Mr. Abunda, I will definitely fight for my vote.
First Last we had Miriam Santiago. Sadly, the majority didn’t see her worth.
No
"Even beaty queens drink" *he then drinks...
-Tito Boy
Love that though.. 😅
interesting topic... it wasn't usual to take gays serious in political industry because they usually creative, entertaining and funny... and i think they're not a usual superior looking leader or ideal image for a president or generally in a political industry, maybe that's why we don't have a gay president...
we can have a gay president if someone out there will love to serve and do what best to our country being as a president, posibleng iboto ko sya... kahit na may discrimination pa sa ganyang idea...
This comment section should not run for President.
This comment section includes you though 😂😂😂😂

This tear me up 💔😭👌💯 thank you Tito Boy 🤗❤️
Me too.. ☺️
I think some comments are missing the point of this ted talk.
Its been 5 years but I am still coming back to this Ted Talk.Such a powerful talk!I hope my mum could be transformed through this Ted Talk.
Your mum sucks
Been watching tedx talks for quite a while. Im surprised to see Boy Abunda did tedxtalk 😍 well said tito boy. 👏🏻
What an important and inspiring talk. Boy was brave to do this. “It is time we correct the wrongdoings of colonialism.” YES. We are all human beings. It’s unfortunate that many Filipinos are stuck with a backwards mentality of bigotry and homosexuality, sexism, etc. As a cisgender straight woman, I support and stand in solidarity with 🏳️🌈 LGBTQ people.
Lev. 20:13
As long as he is much qualified and have passion when it comes to leading a whole country I wont mind
No
Wooow. That was a very powerful speech Tito Boy ❤❤❤✨. It was a mixed of talent, intelligent, and purity. You are rare. I'm looking forward for another speech from you.
Too much classifications. This is the reason why "man" is the most commonly used term to represent human beings in the bible. Classifications create priorities which always lead to prejudices.
Yup. Same reason why patriarchy pervades in christian dominated countries. Why not used the precolonial term "tau" which means people? Why only man?
That "man" in the bible have cause many discriminations in terms of gender where women and gays were at disadvantaged. Unlike precolonial Philippines we only used "siya" to refer to both he and she while bathala is said to be a genderless God. Women can lead as dayang dayang or datu. Gays can also become Babaylan, Asog, Bayog or Agi which is a highly respected shamans in the barangay. While you were basing in an imported religion not really from here?
Leadership is not a question about gender. It is a question about capabilities on leading a nation.
Why does youtube just recommended it after 3 years?
In a matter of time, it's not WHY but WHEN.
boy abunda calling out filipinos’ biggest toxic traits for 17 minutes
>"I was told that.."
You can clearly see the huge difference between the older generations with the newer generations
I love how substantially expressive he is here
wait wait wait- IT'S BEEN 5 YEARS AND I DONT KNOW THAT THE ONE AND ONLY BOY ABUNDA HAS A TED TALK??
It's because of the deep-rooted Catholicism, unfortunately.
Christianity*
Unfortunately.
Sad reality
Because of religion
Akala ko Deep Throated Catholicism 😏
He is not The King of Talk for nothing.
Jumel Fortunado I AGREE!
Indeed.
simply, no one ever tried to file a candidacy
There's no argument. Any qualified Filipino can run for the presidency. If he gets more votes than the rest of the candidates then he will be president. Gays and lesbians are not being withheld from trying. Mr. Abunda is an intelligent, gifted person. He should have picked other topics to talk about.
Acceptance po guro kuya hehehe. I think his point is why can't we accept fully LGBT in a sense that is true in words and actions. :)
"We are a blessing." 👏👏👏
"Clarity of vision, consistency of purpose, emotional intelligence, a healthy respect for public opinion." Just answered your own question.
Not the same answer for everyone else in the Philippines.
OMG! I didn't know Boy Abunda was actually in TED TALK!
the whole world needs to watch this
RUclips somehow connected us all here
That moment when you click the video immediately because it’s Tito Boy Abunda and even at first click ad appears but you’ll surely click the like button because you know this video wil be worth it
No its not
Because it takes courage it takes courage for a person to face all the backlash.
Amazing talk, can’t believe i havent seen this before
I don’t know but I think some people miss the “point” of his argument.
the Philippine government needs people like you Tito Boy.
Dec. 30, 2019..
sexuality should not be the basis for voting for someone, competence should be, ones sexual identity should not matter, so yes we can have a gay president, but it should not be the reason for nor stop him from being elected to office
Gays don't back out on fights. They fight like a madman. They can slap u and u go flying, i can justify that.
But the biggest question here isn't Why can't a gay person be a president, but WHY CAN'T ALLAN CARREON BE OUR PRESIDENT.
hahahahah
BRO THE WAY HE ALL SAY THAT I KINDA GET RELATE-
I cried with this video.kudos tito boy!!!you are truly inspiring.
I understand why you cried cuz you're one of the gays

Bakit ngayon ko lang 'to napanuod.😭Tear-jerker and one of the most inspiring and powerful talks I've watched.

Everyone can be a president or a representative of a country regardless of what gender it is. As long as a one person deserves for that position.
Of course we can, no arguments or questions here. Competence and sincerity are what is required.
You are brilliant speaker and host Sir Boy Abunda
My gosh never knew Boy spoke in TED talk haha
Sino nandito para sa reaction paper?

Boy Abunda "The Abundants" 👍👍👍
the president is a leader with a vision who obsessively looking for the good of all his people not only focus on gender rights vision
I love how Tito Boy gave his speech. He is so brilliant!
Awesome speech.
Proud pinoy here
You are a great Boy
Yes, Philippines needs to progress on basic human rights for everyone, they say it's religion, but if God is love and God loves everyone, love does not discriminate, why do we treat each other this way? Really sad..
Aggreable i just don't understand the hates god is love but his children doesn't follow the basic meaning of love..... But uses all the meaning of hate.....such sadness
Filipinos have a really skewed view on what homosexuality is. Many of them still group it under the same thing as gender identity. It's slowly progressing but still behind the modern world.
