WOW! PSP Games locally on your PlayStation Portal!? YES PLEASE! What PSP games would you love to play locally and offline on your PlayStation Portal?😎
Midnight club Dub Edition!!!!!
Well if they find a way to play snes or nes games on it that could mean that there could be thousands of games on it
I love portal, i can game in bed now instead of downstairs in my game room. My wife don't allow games in living room or bed room but with portal I can play anywhere. If it ran without wifi or with ps5 off, it would be better than switch
Thank you for not referring this rooted PlayStation Portal as jailbroken!!!
They reported it and got it patched.
Yep saw that!
I just modded my vita. It has everything i need for games locally. So i keep my portal as is untill i have a reason not to. I can already run. C64 / all sega except dreamcast. Psp / ps1 all nintendo and then some in the vita. Even though its very cool, its more of the same we already have on previous systems.
That’s amazing! Do you recommend modding vita? I’ve just got my hands on one recently!
@@purepsx absolutely. It brings the vita back to live. Almost a must own if you care for ps1 / psp / vita and pretty much all retro consoles. The only limitation is your storage card. I recommend 256gb. Touchscreen / Oled in and option to play your retro games with analog stick is just awesome
@@emvy4706 awesome I will look into it, maybe make a video on it for other newbies like me!
I JUST got my portal today & I wish Sony will allow us to play our cloud games without being online
That would be nice!!
How do you propose to access the cloud without some sort of online connection?
@@Cyko.. good point idk just wish you could play it without being online somehow. I love the device though
@@TheUncannyOne I feel you. It really doesn't make sense if you are in the same room as your PS5 that is 10 feet away from you.
The very definition of "cloud" requires access through the internet. Smh
Love my portal as it is. I knew what i bought and what it is. And thats why it stays as it is and love it. For hacks and mods ill just wait for the next stand alone portable 😊
I am convinced that the back of Portal is reminiscent of the new PS5 with external player with the duo "cut"... so maybe somewhere there is "that missing piece" to add and transform it into a PSP[?]... with a memory on SD.
That’s a great idea. Ps5 games were not designed for handheld consoles so the screen seems too small. Ps Vita games make much more sense.
So what are you going to do with the whole 6 GB of storage? Answer: Not much.
You can actually have a few old games on that
Just install apps you need from APKs and all ROMs can run from USB.
@@jankrnac3535 Do you know something the hackers that created this exploit don’t know? Because the one USB-C port on the Portal is for charging... You are the very first person out of all the posts about this exploit mentioning using a USB while everyone else, including the hackers, say it’s 6 GB. Guess you’re smarter than everyone else. You sure showed us.
@@Cyko.. if it is atleast USB-C 2.0 it is able to do that, just is possible that Android in Portal missing drivers for USB. That is very possible, so is needed install drivers into it. And it is not so easy to do (but deffinitelly easier that hack whole that thing).
@@jankrnac3535 To summarize, no, you are not going to be able to magically transform the charging port. You have 6 GB to work with. That's it. Even the hackers who made this are saying that and you are not on their level. 2 PSP GTA games and a PSP God of War game is 4 GB. The 6 GB of storage is for updates. So do you want to play old PSP games and potentially miss out on updating your Portal? Because if your Portal isn't up to date then it won't work with your expensive PS5. That's how Sony rolls.
NCAA Football 10 on PSP is def gonna be my first game ima get
I don't want much from the hack. 6gb is very restricted. But a light pimping would be good. The ability to watch RUclips and play nes snes and megadrive would be fine.
Lenovo legion go + CHIAKI, SO WHAT WOULD YOU NEED A PS PORTAL FOR?
I will follow this channel for more info !
Awesome, thank you! Did you get your hands on a playstation portal?
How would they get it on there? No storage…the USB port is said to be power in only, no data and no power out either
@JUDAHIAMKiNG Actually it doesn't. The USB-C port is for power only.
The power input port on a Portal's USB-C port can only be used for power input.
The reason why USB-C power input ports can only be used for power input has a lot to do with how the USB protocol works. USB was designed from the start as a master/slave protocol with one master device and many slave devices. This was enforced by using type "A" ports on the master device, and any hub ports that faced "upstream" to the master, and "B" ports on slave devices, and the hub port that faced "downstream". With USB-C this mechanical enforcement of roles was lost but the "upstream" and "downstream" roles remained. There are USB-C ports that can act in either role but to do this requires extra electronics.
If this were not the case, TheFlow and others would have already said "It has 6 GB on board storage, BUT you can expand that with a USB flash drive." They haven't and so you're just stuck with 6 GB. Even less if you install PPSSPP and want to continue getting updates on your Portal. Failure to keep your Portal updated may or may not cease to function on the PS5. Enjoy.
That's crazy. Just ordered my Portal. But I still believe that Sony will let us run PS1 and PSP games natively on the next Vita handheld they're working on. They should have a much bigger selection of games by then.
I really hope so! Make sure you check out my video on the vita 2 which is supposedly in the works! Would you pick up a vita 2 which allowed you to play games locally!? I would day 1 for sure!
Steam link on the ps portal would be amazing
I would buy an additional portal to keep offline for this
I bet lots would! What PSP games would you love to play locally and offline on a PlayStation Portal?
Portal was always a waste of money. Maybe now people will actually consider it if they don’t have modded vita .
I have no interest in playing old games. The Playstation Portal needs additional storage, Bluetooth, and the ability to download titles in a digital format to allow us to play without being connected online.
This stuff really! annoys me. OK if Sony makes the Portal and it can only stream. fine thats the device. But when mods can actively make it do so much more!!
than why the hell didn't they see to making this be part of the original product!!...
This is why Sony is never going to make another dedicated handheld. The PSP and PSVita were problematic for Sony because they were (and still are) used to run game emulation on games that are not owned by the user......aka PIRATED!!! As such, I fully expect Sony to patch this out of the Portal before it gets into the wild and will continue to patch it out with firmware updates for as long as the PS Portal is being manufactured. Once Sony drops support for the PS Portal, which realisticslly might never happen since Sony's intended use for the Portal is for streaming and remote play, Sony will likely stop the "stability" firmware updates and that will allow modders to take advantage of this....but even that seems a stretch because Sony doesn't make any money on emulators and the goal of a console hardware manufacturer is to build a platform that is conducive to the SALE of software. While cool to know that its possible to some degree, i doubt anyone will ever get to use the feature as I suspect that anyone who buys a new Portal will have the latest firmware already installed and those of us with one already will likely have to stop updating the PS Portal all together to be in position to benefit from this. Its cool...but since no one will ever get to use it, not really!
There's always a way to download an earlier firmware. I accidentally updated my vita after I already modded it and lost everything I did. Then I found a download to downgrade it to an earlier firmware and it woks again.
@@wesman6445
There's a different between a device after the manufacturer stops supporting the hardware and the device that the manufacturer is currently putting out patches for. Sony game business is the SALE of games....they are not gonna let people run an emulator on their device that bypasses you buying a game from them...not while they are still supporting it....remember this is the same company that brought criminal charges on the guy who jailbroke the PS3 using the "other OS" feature Sony put in the console, but have done nothing to the RcPs3 guys.
@corey_massey When I 1st hacked my vita, it was still being supported by Sony. I ignored 2 updates. Then for some reason my dumbass updated to the last firmware. That's when I found out how to downgrade to an earlier firmware. People were hacking the Vita before Sony stopped supporting it. And like you said Sony was coming out with patches and updates to counter, and hackers were finding new hacks to counter the counter… lol
@JUDAHIAMKiNG
I never said that why they stopped making the PSP and PSVITA, I said that why they are no making another dedicated handheld. Piracy in the mobile handheld market mixed with low sale volume for games on those handhelds makes the idea of a dedicated handheld device unattractive for a company whose primary business model is the home console unit where sales of games are strong and piracy is pretty much a nonfactor. Nintendo is a seperate example because instead of splitting thier buisness into home console and handheld gaming system they combined thier waning home console market into their extremely successful handheld business and thats where you get the Switch hybrid console from.
For Sony the Portal represents the best use case for a handheld as its primary function is to give you access to your PS5 games away from your PS5 screen. Because it leverages games you already own and not its own dedicated handheld games, the Portal requires nothing from Sony but the internet, which is apparently a sticking point for many in the community as they want the option to be able to play offline on a handheld device. The problem is of course is that to do that you would need hardware significantly stronger than the previous handheld gaming systems Sony has made, and it would cost significantly more than the Portal. Its a lose/lose situation for Sony as the prospects of piracy mixed with low sale of a device that they will not support long term would render a dedicated handheld gaming system from Sony into the realm of a glorified PSP or PSVita. This is why they will not make another dedicated handheld gaming system....the outgoing cost of production can be undercut by piracy and mods and the need to support it with dedicated handheld games that they don't want to make because it detracts from thier primary platform.
You wrote all that? This is your opinion, not facts. The PSP sold millions and millions of units. Even when it got hacked they continued to release new versions so what you are saying is false.
Can u play Netflix that's the question!
I call Cap!
Great. Now someone hack it to play netflix please.
Bro if you can’t have Netflix on your phone or the tv while you’re playing you’re completely missing the point.
Vita is cheaper right but on this one looks great!
Whos excited?....no one. If i want to play PSP games, ill get a PSP. Lets see the PS Portal is already shit, and between £150/£250. Or, an actual PSP, which you could now pick up for £20, and few pound more if modded...
