Bobby: I wanted Karen, I compromised, i got Janice instead
there are guys in the can better lookin than my sister
He did get Karen, until the accident. She was only 47, still a kid.
@@huaijiutv He could've had Jojo instead. Oof madone.
I wouldn't call that a compromise lol
@@huaijiutv It’s sad when they go young like that
It took a few rewatches for me to realize just how good Bobby is at that anger management conversation with Janice. She makes every attempt to steer him off course: Puts it off, then insults him, then plays for sympathy ("I'm so sore"), then makes excuses. Not once does he take the bait, never gets nasty with her, just tells her straight up "You've got a problem, and you need to address it."
Big respects, burger boy.
I had a girlfriend like this only she was way more attractive than Janice.
She was Portuguese and loved to fight, argue, and bicker.
It seemed like the arguing fueled her.
Felt like whenever things weren’t engaging or felt like things weren’t “moving forward”, she started a fight about anything.
After many fights, screaming and yelling, I was to the point of exhaustion where I became like bobby and just told her straight up “go get help or we;re done”
That actually made her even more mad because I didn’t back down from that and because she always felt like she was never the problem (therapy doesn’t work).
It eventually ended after months of her criticizing me for breaking it off, and after months of leaving my paragraphs of texts and countless voicemails.
I went on several dates with other women and had a couple short lived relationships afterwards, and it gave me the experience to learn that she was legitimately nuts and get genuine anger issues.
Not all women are like that and I was lucky enough to meet some great ones out there. I eventually married one too.
@@steverogers7601
I know it's a silly RUclips comment. But you took the time to write it.
I really really needed to hear this, it gave me hope. Keep on keeping on my guy.
It's simple debate 101. Stick to the subject and don't respond to logical fallacies. She had straw men, red herrings, ad hominems...... didn't make a dent.
@@steverogers7601I had a girlfriend who when I dumped her she said "There's no conflict." The sick see-you-next-Tuesday actually thought constant conflict is normal.
I fucking love Bobby so much in this show 😂
The funeral scene, with all the mob wives looking at bobby and comparing their husbands to him is so good.
Bobby was a genuinely good man, and all the others were anything but.
Carmela asking who Silvio was laughing with knowing damn well it was Tony. Classic.
They all loved their husbands. They were no better than their husbands. That's also why all these females friendship were terrible...

the actress who plays Janice does such an outstanding job. It is impossible to imagine that she is different to that in real life. So utterly convincing.
The sopranos casting director did a great job, but the writers did an even better job, inserting the actors' natural tendencies into their characters. Just wat h the Talking Sopranos podcast and you'll see flashes of their chatavters personalities. Even in Scirripa and as Imperioli
I've started listening to the "Talking Sopranos" is great. It's hosted by Michael Imperioli (Chrissy) and Steve Schirripa.(Bobby). They have other casts as guests and it's so entertaining knowing how different they are in real life. Superb casting.

3:15 i love how janice claps back with the unproductive low blow meant only to hurt, and bobby doesn’t even bat an eye or skip a beat and just stays right on topic and holds his ground. it’s impressive and another one of those small moments that shows bobby is a lot tougher and more capable than he’s made out to be on the surface.
It also kind of conveyed the fact he didn't care to argue anymore. He was done with life. That's also probably why he didn't care to go into hiding, and was out buying trains when he knew New York would be looking for him. He didn't care if he died.

No bobby definitely went up in Tony's esteem. And the assassination I think was more a final bridge for Tony. He saw Bobby had potential but needed to see he could spill blood before fully trusting him

Seeing Bobby so devastated after Karen’s death is utterly heartbreaking. It helps that we almost never see Bobby do something violent or detestable like we do the other characters until much later because it sells his grief that much better. And we actually empathize with him because everyone understands the concept of loss of a loved one, but seeing how this moment also changes Bobby is the best aspect of his arc.
After this he actually starts making strides to become more important to Tony and moves his way up to underboss, he’s gotta kill a guy to get there but he does move up nonetheless.
