SICK REVIEW! Thanks so much!
Hello my friends from ZGB
Awesome also I think that as a secondary and a kanabo as a primary would be great for a zombie apocalypse
I'm hoping when executioner 3.0 comes out skall gets his hands on one since the 3.0 is so different and way more sword like.
It's a sick sword/machete thingy :) glad to see you guys are back in action with Charles the executioner!
Enchantment gained: The Essence of Skallagrim
Does +10 damage to opponents without beards, and makes the user immune to the 'End Him Rightly' technique.
The Easy Nine. Balanced
Too bad the comments section isn't immune to "End Him Rightly".
Wow what a genius
Also bestows the user with a beard worthy of the gods
Reduces damage from Cheap Swords, Asian Blades, Wall hanger Fantasy, and most important, the increase of 20% in the normal attack of all types of pommels allows you to take down plot plate universal anime-like plate armor in a single normal hit. The special attack of the pommel also is increased by 15%, and it allows you to 2RK0 characters like Shadiversty.
It's got Skall Essence. Soon it'll grow a badass beard and start throwing pommels.
AXAXXAAXAXXA I AM CRYING !!!
Lightning-in-my-Hand you've gotta end those zombies rightly.
If you think about it, beards are just pommels for your face.
These comments and replys are killing me
7:45 Actually makes a *SHIIING* noise 11/10 :P
That's bad. It means metal is hitting the machete. I'm hoping it's just the clasp on the side. Some sheaths are cheap and the metal parts rub the edge. Quick way to ruin the blade.
I know but it's funny due to everyone criticizing hollywood about it, only for it to actually happen. I know it's not normal/good for the blade/historically accurate, doesn't stop me from pointing and laughing :P
@@LynxxXVI
As far as I can tell, it's from the clamp on the back of the sheath rubbing up against the spine, which isn't going to hurt anything
Totally! Loyd was wrong
youtube - hitting a test dummy with a sword ? noooo cant have that.
also youtube - jake balls setting his pool on fire better put that shit on trending
Or how about allowing Hell's favorite channel "Daddy O Five" to continue it's existence, despite the fact it's nothing but child abuse?

Looks like a practical daedric weapon design
Hi Voltage I recommend you look at the Elder Scrolls Online daedric weapon. much more practical
I was thinking more an Orcish sword myself.
Gothic 3 the orc slayer is 1:1 this sword
It reminds me of the faucian
I WAS JUST ABOUT TO SAY THAT
The Bushwacka
+ Crits whenever it would normally mini crit
- No random critical hits
- 20% damage vulnerability on wearer
So I was not the only one who sees a strong resemblence between that sword and the bushwacka
nice
SKALL! that machete is now imbued with your blood essence... IT HAS BECOME A LEGENDARY SKALL COLLECTABLE!
Agreed. If Skall is ever in need of money again and needs to sell off some stuff I bet this sucker could sell very well simply because it's embued with Skall's essence.
The greatest part of this is that I bought this from the fundraiser he set up, not even remembering that it has Skall essence!
You sold me at anime eyes.
Sponsors are usually really quite annoying, but the fact that you implement humor and sarcasm into them makes them so much better, even entertaining. Keep up the great work, Skall!
Lone Wolf jacksfilms does it well also
The only BAD sponsored ads I've seen so far has been from Nostalgia Critic. He makes me cringe, and I usually tolerate his skits just fine.
I like the straight up "youtube is a dick, and heres this ad that i didnt want to do" that kinda stuff is why i love Skal lol
when i see blades like the executioner i call it functional fantasy.
Dragon Freak you can also call it a modern desinge
That was probably the best commercial they could have asked for.
TheIronMoose If I were the company, I would steal the Michael Bay-line :D
He really does commit, ha.
On a serious note, you are one of my favorite reviewers. I really enjoy how you do reasonable use testing rather than "Hey lets do stuff to this that no reasonable person would ever do, so it breaks and I can compalin about it" style "testing" that is so common.
You baptised the blade with blood.

Have you ever tried to fillet a knife-ear with an axe?
You had me at giant phallic guns ... this is the quality content we come here for!
Could you make an informative video about steel types? You keep saying numbers like 1095 or whatever and I have absolutely no frame of reference on what that means or what you want out of a good steel other than a balance between toughness and hardness.
JustinDL97 10 series steel, such as 1045, 1060, 1075, and 1095, are simple steels. They are just iron and carbon. The last two digits in the name refer to "points" of carbon, so 1075 is 99.25% iron, 0.75% carbon.
wow only 0.75% that little and it can make iron into steel, i always though it require at least 30%
This is a good Idea. I spent a long time researching to get a rounded understanding, and a Skall vid would save people a similar experience. What about your blacksmith friend?
yukido asuna yeah, more than 1% and it turns into cast iron. Too brittle to make an effective blade.
There actually was a video skall made, it was very long and it comprised of a talk with a couple other RUclipsrs having a love chat about different steels, and theoretical metals for blades.
All blades cut better after they've tasted the blood of the wielder. Its why fantasy badasses always slice their arm a bit before battle! BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!!!

The distinction between machetes and swords is quite important actually... Here in Italy machetes are perfectily legal (you find them at any gardening shop), but sharpened swords require a licence be bought. So, something like this is somewhat of a bug in the legal system.
Am i the only one who prefers Skall reading his own ads? They're actually tolerable when he's the one reading them. I even had a few chuckles!
*edit*
Just saw the end of the video, Mad respect for those able to support him on patron
............"and this sword was reviewed by your very own grand grand father it is soaked with his blood"
And his descendants shall run around with the blade yelling, "With the power of my ancestor!!"
if you need a video series idea: "Good Knives Under $40 Dollars", and you could run the knives through a sort of gauntlet to see their uses, pros/cons, EDC, fixed blade, value for money, quality and whatnot.
Examples; CRKT, Gerber, S&W, Böker, Kershaw, Leatherman, Schrade, etc.
For the Christmas season, you'll see your viewership grow.
Javier Vargas you mean like Jörg did on the Slingshot Channel?
Thijs Postma no idea, i dont watch Joerg as much as Skall, so seeing some cheaper more affordable weapons being reviewed by him would be interesting to see, especially if your looking around the market for a Good budget knife, especially if one's a noob* when it comes to knives.
I mean, come on. Who the hell is *really* looking for an expensive short two-handed machete sword?
In contrast to people maybe looking to buy a good cheap knife for the holiday season and/or for self defense or every day carry.

Maybe I've been playing too much Skyrim lately, but to me it kinda looks like the Orcish Sword from that game.
DwarfLord 420 no such thing as too much skyrim.
Sorry to come at you from nowhere, but if you like Skyrim you should check out Exanima. Be warned that it is very different from what you are used to in terms of controls, and the game itself isn't easy, however, when you get that hit in just right it just feels so damn satisfying. It is still in EA, and if you look at the games update log it may at first look like it has stopped development. But that's at the surface, the devs (Bare Mettle) are currently working on some of the most advanced AI i have ever heard of being implemented into a game. Sorry for the huge wall of text, hope I'm not too annoying with this.
I'll Give it a look.

Hey how about a series of videos where you argue the pros and cons of a weapon in the scenario of only being able to have one weapon in a post apocalyptic/zombie apocalypse.
War robots is in every video on youtube
ernesto jimegar Only the cool ones.
The cutting shots in this video are some of the most satisfying on your channel yet, I think. Like a swordchete through butter.
Land surveyor/field engineer (here in Georgia) for over 3 decades. I love it , I want one. Definitely on my Christmas list. 😃😉😎
Havent been watching this channel like for nearly a year now (spending my computed life in VR)
I am totally awed by your improvements on movement and striking!
Medieval perfection - much respect!
Yeah, please talk about the price gap between swords and machetes. That thing is made of good quality materials, has a flawless finish and works really well. Why would be classified as a machete make it cheaper?
That woosh from the overhand cut was satisfying, nicely done sir
I like how you takes this topic very serious . It's important information for some people , mostly it's fun.
Keep up the good work.
I am a sucker for giant mech combat, i might try that one actually
The only much combat I liked was in Gurren Laagan but that's because spiral power.
for a good backyard cutter, $125 is definitely good value
So happy for you Skall. I hope you get more sponsorships like this
I have to say this, i realy love this kind of advertising, even tho i may or may not be interested it is actualy pleasant to hear you do the add and over all i think is a great way of having it match the style of your chanel. Keep it up man! I realy love your vids :)
It looks like a falchion if a falchion was actually a really big bowie knife. I think finally have the sword to put in my fantasy story.....
Blood enchanted, Niiiice. now it does +5 damage to Beastkin and Humanoids.
Was that a Bloodborne reference?

at least something that isnt sponsored by vikings
this somehow reminds me a bit of a greek kopis at least a bit (maybe like a steampunk version or something) and somehow i can totally imagine that thing being used by ork in lord of the rings or something like this
Once again a nice and sound review. Thanks Skalla..
Love your work friend, your videos often brighten my day
It's not an "easily offended" issue. it's that it's an algorithm doing it. that's why appeal is so easy for most people
The appeal ends up being useless in practical terms. By the time the video has been reviewed and re-monetized the views are already in and there is no more ad revenue coming in anyway.
Skallagrim try to upload in private first and appeal the video in private if it gets demonetized so if the appeal goes through you can make the video public and get the innital view revenue
Let's just call this a combat machete
Another fine review, sir. Nice piece of hardware there, too.
Although it's not the typical content I watch, I really enjoy your Videos. You seem to put a lot of Effort into 'em.
Thanks.
That's a orc sword if ever I saw one!
But can it tank a rifle bullet?
HiopX But can you throw the po-...
There's... no pommel... 0/10
Nice job Skallagrim, you just got your weapon soulbound to you now.
Ordered one AND, I informed KOA that I got the info for it, from your video! Thnx!!!
Can you perform a test of weapons that are considered as novelty but have a great potential for damage? Like executioner vs giant opinel
jose paolo Aranda You know kinda funny but these do both fit into that sort of weird class of in-betweens.
Some of those novelty knives have a great potential to damage the user.
Looks like a fun chopper and more than capable weapon. Wonder how it would hold up with that clip point sharpened
I still have to get one. Love the guys at ZBG. They are just plain good people!
1 of my favourite channels atm
The Compensator**
Donsmacker1
No no, that was a different sword.
this is not a sword this is a dumb piece of zombie toy
Combensator is even dumber
Still looks fun.
Feffnirsbane You call is a dumb toy, I call it a high end machete.
This sword looks like Orc Slayer from Gothic game series
omg... I thought I was the only one to think that.
The ad for the game at the beginning of the video was actually really interesting. I loved Chromehounds on the Xbox 360 (a multiplayer combat robot game where you have different classes of mechs that you can build from scratch from hundreds of parts) and always wanted a newer version of one and that game looks exactly like it. Pretty cool
Hey mate, just wanted to say I actually prefer the content now its not ruined by you tubes adds. So glad you've found a sponsor that'll help the channel out. Keep the content coming mate. Cant wait to see what the skall comes up with next.
It kind of reminds me of a bowie knife or some form of seax on blade steroids. Guess they weren't so crazy after all, installing weight-lifting benches in their forges...
looks like the sword Tormund uses in game of thrones
When talking about the sword's size, it sounded like Skallagrim was reminiscing about his kriegsmesser
This is going to be my very first sword in my collection. The price, aesthetic, and quality make this seem like a great buy. Thanks for introducing me to this hobby skall!
Btw that skall blood infused one is now a collectors item
Looks like a good butter knife for an ork
Not gonna comment on that 0:40?
Skall should get into advertising. I'd like to watch all adverts with his voice-over.
rinflame44 all jokes aside I completely agree with this
rinflame44
He hates promoting himself and things. He only does promotions because his hobby is expensive.
Ive had my Executioner for a year now and I'm loving it. Bought one for my dad too. Setup a mannequin with various melons strapped to it and said GO FOR IT! He really enjoyed going ballistic on that thing ^_^
Good news, I saw an ad for this video (the venom movie trailer), amazing channel, keep it up
I heard it might work to upload videos as unlisted, and allowing the algorithim to demonetize it, then appeal it, and then publishing it after it gets remonetized, so you don't lose out on the initial views.
Outstanding, well actually check out that little game cuz it reminds me of old-school MechWarrior, but I'd rather see you advertising then some advertisers crappy commercial anyway, glad there's are sponsors out there that aren't complete sissies
i've been waiting for this vid for so long!
Thank you
Sorry for not supporting u on patrion, but i did want to tell you that i really appreciate and enjoy your videos and i wish u the very best
I have been watching your vids for a few years and i think they even helped me with the way i think and analyse stuff
Anyways, have a great day, skall!!
Hey Skallgrim, have you ever seen the movie The 13th Warrior, this movie was one of my first Medieval related movies, it was also one of the first Viking movies that I've ever seen. It's a very cool movie if you haven't seen it, see it for yourself if you want. It's also cool when it comes to the Viking one on one dual in which was cool to watch.
Celtic Templar
Hell yeah ive seen that first when i was 8 years old lol
Those filthy cannibals were scary as fuck
Skal should watch it if he didnt already
It looks a bit like Scar's Sword/Orc slayer from Gothic series. The blade that is.
BTW, Skall. I wonder what do you think about the game Ancestors Legacy. It's not out yet but the trailer and gameplay available makes me think that we will finally get reasonably realistic game set in Viking Era.
Kamil Szadkowski thats not scar's sword, its skall's sword
i'll see myself out
Kamil Szadkowski, ja z początku myślałem, że to kosa z gothica 2, rzeczywiście podobna.
Dokadnie tak samo miałem ;)
Ancestors Legacy looks pretty good and the way the spear wielders fight reminded me of skall.....
It does not look like the Orc Slayer... It is exactly the Orc Slayer :D Probably someone played some Gothic... :D
Man I love the way this looks
Even though I already own this sword I've been waiting for this video for soooo long!
Looks like a modern take on a falchion.
Brendan W or falcata and I apologize if I spelled that wrong. My first thought was that it looks similar to the sword from the movie 300
i was very happy right as i saw the thumbnail; In Monster Hunter 3 the Sword "Eternal Strife" was my favorite one, just for the Looks. So i thought it would be cool to see a similar design, and this one reminds me of it, at least as realistic Counterpart
I want to be embedded with the essence of Skallagrim
Implying you could contain it
Yo that sound it makes when it comes out the sheath is badass
I love these large, beefy, super hard instruments of death!
1075 is actually a really good choice for a machete
Not bad at all, but for a thicker one, tool steel all the way(h7, maybe?).
Just a thought but If you plan on a sword/ machete comparison vid then can I suggest including a look at the Cold Steel machetes since they are in the form of historical swords?
This is a good blade for a set up if you are carrying a long barreled Ar-15, a 1911, a plate carrier, mini pack for scavenging nearby buildings, basically a modern civilian build. Also do not forget the pommels:)
1:04 *OOH*, that sound when it unsheathed... Just like in movies and video games!
Should you ever have to resell The Executioner you should put up the price a bit since it comes with some extra blood!
It is now a *"executioner +1" Rare, mythical quality*
You mean: unique! Not rare. Bcause a one piece only...
Da warboss iz gunna go mad when ee seez dis puny 'oomie is playing wiv his toof pick.
How to survive a zombie apocalypse: Just phalanx your way through everything
YES. I feed off those ads. Skal, you make commercials great again.
Is there was like some indestructible metal that couldn't be chipped or cracked, bluntened (eg adamantium, mithril, orichalum) would you still want the blade to be flexible or would you want it to be just a solid mass
The flexibility of the blade is to prevent the metal from cracking, so if the material is so good that it won't crack by default then I'd imagine it being fully hard then I'd imagine it would probably just cut better and not get stuck after cutting into something hard.
Distrayer you might still want to have some flexibility though, because if you thrust with a completely stiff but indestructible blade, all the force goes into two points: the point of impact, and your wrist. If you happen to hit something that the blade can't go straight through, you will feel it in your hand, wrist, forearm, elbow etc.
and if you would hit something as indestructable as the metal of your blade with enough force to break someones arm, you would break your own arm
Wouldn't you feel that with a normal blade as well? Your answer actually does bring up something I didn't think about but now I'm wondering if the difference would be that much.
Because of Newton’s third law of motion you absolutely need flex in the blade otherwise you would seriously hamper or damage yourself.
That thing is basically a Greek kopis on steroids.
I thought it looked kinda like spartan swords, but that is just judging from the way in curved
Yes, reminds me of the 300 swords. But that is the Artist Frank Millar art concept, not the historical blade. I got mine on the pre-order, so $ 79 was not too bad.
I like that blade design, and the Sinbad Scimitar also
6:04 Bloodbound. The blood keeps your promise for you....
