      Good morning to u Dennis ! Or should I say God. I have to say you are a very wise man everything you had said in your video is everything I’m going through and it makes so much sense. I have subscribed to your channel I will be watching you for you are an inspiration. I would love if you can reach out to me and help me. Keep the faith guys. Not so long ago I was crippled by Anxiety. Today I am back to the old me and its all just a bad memory. The key is understanding what's happening and learning to give up the fighting and worrying, but above all losing your fear. Dennis's videos give you all the tools. The guy knows his subject for sure. Much love to you all.

    i am only 17 and healthy anxiety has taken over my life. First I kept getting headaches and i thought i had a tumor and i would obsess over it and cry. These thoughts would control my moods and relationships with others. Now everyday i feel chest pain and i google my symptoms and think i have a heart or esphogas issues. I am only 17 and i just want to be a teenager and live my life and find happiness. I hope these videos help like others say because i could sure need some type of support right now.

It started with some eye symptoms (the doctors didnt find anything wrong with me) and the symptoms have escalated to tremors, chest pains, headaches, migraines with auras, feeling lightheaded, etc. It's a real struggle, but I want to believe that we'll get through it!

Now I'm constantly scared, I feel everything, I'm nervous, hyperaware, go to bed nervous, wake up nervous, can't sleep more than 5 hours, if that. I'm tired. I hate that doctors tell me I'm healthy because I know that I'm not, at least not mentally and emotionally right now.

    Nausea, knot in my stomach, and derealization are the most debilitating for me, in that order. This also reflects the severity of my anxiety in the moment. Indigestion is a daily occurrence for me, which can turn to nausea if I'm anxious enough. Then I'll begin to notice knots or churning in the pit of my stomach as I go about my normal activities, eventually leading to a panic attack if I'm not careful with my thoughts. All of my panic attacks come with derealization, where I begin to lose my grip on what's real around me, making it so much harder to calm down because it feels so dangerous to be in that state. It took me learning that I had to sit with, feel, and accept the feelings of dread in my body before I found any real relief and soon stopped experiencing panic attacks and derealization to that degree. The difference is monumental from the days when I was having panic attacks every week or two and would wake up before sunrise needing to throw up for no reason and spend the day with constant dread in my stomach. I still have anxiety and indigestion that I now treat holistically, aside from the occasional antacid. I will say that I went on an SSRI for almost a year when I was having these episodes regularly, which didn't solve the issue for me but helped me feel in control enough to work through it myself. Now, I'm off all meds and can experience the same thoughts or sensations that used to devolve into panic and ease them out of my body using mindfulness and breathing exercises. I haven't dissociated in 2 years and I'm still working to improve every day so that I don't have those terrifying experiences in the future.

I went to therapy, I took medication, did meditation, yoga, aromatherapy and it took me almost 10 months to feel ok again. But sadly it came back as anticipatory anxiety and again my life feels like a nightmare. I found this video and the last tip you mention was like a painkiller to my suffering. The only symptoms I get are feeling like I have to keep taking deep breaths, noticing my breathing, especially when alone, and feeling afraid. I also have a tic where I will scrunch my nose when I think about it, or blink my eyes tight. I worry about having a stroke because I’m older and my parents died that way, and I worry that something will happen to my children or grandchildren. Is this what’s called “general anxiety”? For the past 6 months I’ve also been tapering slowly from an antidepressant I have been on for 15 years. Will your therapy help me or do I need to do something different. I can’t enjoy life always feeling this way and I know that stress is bad for me. Thank you.

    • @qso3566
      @qso3566 5 лет назад +4

      Mary Kane: I know what you mean about breathing. And I know what you mean about being older, alone, and afraid. I have a long history of anxiety and managed it well for a long time, even after my husband passed away 9 years ago. But in the past few months, my anxiety has increased to the point where I worry about everything 24/7, including all kinds of horrible illnesses. The worst symptom is hyperventilation and even when I do breathing exercises - which help - I still obsess about health and breathing, so it's a cycle. I will be able to take a deep breath and think it's ok, then I can't take a deep breath which creates more panic. I believe for me, at least part of it, is the fact that I am alone.

    This video is so powerful for me, thank you Dennis. I just recently realized that when one sensation passed for me, a new one comes about. Example, for a while I always felt a foggy head, heart palpitations, sweating and fatigue. With time most of those have passed, but now I get head tension/ringing in ears and stomach discomfort. I paid no attention to head tension but the stomach discomfort is new to me. Last night it felt like my stomach was on fire and my mind was telling me “go to the hospital now!”, I laid in bed thinking “maybe this is some sort of gastric issue”. But now, I convinced myself that this is only a trick. Because moments ago I felt fine with slight stomach discomfort and conveniently everything intensified moment I got to bed. I fell asleep and as I’m writing this at the park, I feel good. Slight discomfort in my head but fine. It’s truly amazing how the mind works and how it tries so hard to pull you back

    You absolutely nailed the physiological aspect of anxiety and how someone suffering from it thinks.
    The only thing I've found that really works is resolving the bigger problems in your life slowly.
    That and honestly I sometimes just have to force myself to laugh at the fact that I'm being brought to my knees by thoughts.

      Yes! I routinely took myself to hospital for 2 years....after 5 years it was explained to me that I had been having panic attacks every day for almost 5 years. I always felt my heart skip a beat, pain in my chest and then in my arms, honestly felt like a heart attack.
      My symptoms improved over time, with propranadol (a beta blocker) giving me help, along with Vensir, and learning to process my thoughts better.....but it did take time. I hope you improve, I wouldn't wish it on anyone

    My current symptom right now that I am fixated on is frequent urination. I’ve always peed a lot when I am anxious or have to go on a long car trip but it never really made me worry or panic. Then for some reason one day last week I became fixated on it. Now it’s all I think about. I can feel my muscles around that area getting tense the moment I think about it which makes it even worse.

  • @lastcall170

    I've been dealing with muscle twitching all over my body. It's benign but everyone says it's permanent. It stressed me out just to accept it. I can't focus away from the parathesia of the face...and menacing twitching all day long. Please help.

      I experience this too, really scares me when it happens and I hate it when I have a twitch in my head/neck. I then start worrying I'm going to have a seizure because I never hear anyone talk about twitches coming from anxiety. But I'm learning to accept it is anxiety. You're not alone and it will get better. Just keep fighting.

    • @Smitherrz
      @Smitherrz 6 лет назад +6

      This is what triggered and exacerbated my anxiety. I have always had problems with overthinking but they were transient and went away...no panic attacks, eeriness, darkness, whatever sensation you are feeling. However i realized my main anxiety: health. I remember as a child (happened when I was maybe 8 or so, then happened as a teen a few times) thinking I couldn't breathe and was convinced I was going to die from suffocation. I am 23 now and began feeling tense a few months ago. The stress of grad school applications and exams, my sisters puppy getting paralyzed, being "good enough" all built up...but one day I remember feeling unusually anxious and started twitching all over. I was worried I had a disease much like you. I became OBSESSED WITH IT! Could not stop thinking about it. This led to weird sensations that made me think i had something wrong with me even more. I have had them for three months and have realized this is just anxiety and stress. But now, I have sleeping issues and I worry about the odd thoughts I have before falling asleep. This makes me feel like Im going crazy and I get anxiety about thinking that I will experience these during the day. this makes me very jumpy and I begin to panic/feel eerie. You're all good! Just some anxiety. It is more common than you think my friend

    • @TheAnxietyGuy1
      @TheAnxietyGuy1  6 лет назад +1

      Evridiki Doulami Focus on your speed (slow down), posture, breathing, as well as allowing yourself mistakes as you go through this more anxious chapter in your life. Be gentle on yourself, and yes I was in a very similar cycle.

      Evridiki Doulami I have this exact same problem for the past few weeks and it’s freaking me out so much. However I’ve been reading a lot about it and it most certainly can be caused by anxiety, stress and tiredness. Do you have trouble thinking too? Like your head is foggy and it’s harder than usual forming the thought of words that you want to say? I know how scary it is, especially since I normally can talk very fast and clear and now all of a sudden I trip over words and find myself mumbling and then getting scared because of it.

The only way i can sleep is by NOT sleeping for so long, that i become so exhausted that i pass out despite those feelings.

    I've been dealing with anxiety/panic disorder since I've been 17 (I'm 30 now). I was able to get it in check, up until 4 years ago. My most debilitating symptoms here recently are heart palpitations (so much so it keeps me housebound anymore. anytime I try and leave my adrenaline releases like crazy.), breathing difficulty/shortness of breath (it feels like my nose is plugged up all the time), and lastly that I don't eat when I'm feeling stressed. So my anxiety has basically caused me to become anorexic, which is horrible in itself, since it makes my body that much weaker. I feel sick to my stomach when I try to force anything down. I try to stay strong and fight through the horrible attacks, but once one subsides it's like another one takes over. My body is like on constant alert. All this over the years has caused me to become depressed, and just physically worn out. Watching this video, as well as reading the majority of these comments though, gives me peace of mind that I'm not alone, and there is a light at the end of this dark tunnel if I don't give up.♡

    • @susanpusateri
      @susanpusateri 5 лет назад

      Hang in there and try to eat. I've had anxiety where I couldn't eat and lost 15lbs in 3 months. I would eat a waffle with butter and syrup, an egg... then throughout the day, I would drink smoothies, green drinks, carrot and beer juice,yogurt with almonds, bananas and spoonfuls of almond or peanut butter. Soup. That's it. I forced myself. And if I weighed myself, I freaked out even more. I'm now eating again but still have insane light headedness.

I always get that 'doomed' sensation through my body that says, you gotta face it and it's like please God just get me through this. True. Because the more understanding and clarity you can tap into in moments of intense anxiety the deeper the change in pairings go. You begin to teach the system that there is no Sabre toothed tigers around the corners and focus shifts.

      The Anxiety Guy dennis please do a video as to why doctors and psychiatrists dont do what u do? Are they afraid to lose their job because people like u have the answers and u dont need meds because they dont work? I mean i like docs but i wish this doctor thing can be eradicated and little by little holistic doctors can be in the lime light.. I mean why find a cure for any disease and donate when there is prevention. Why not teach the population on nutrition instead of medicine and surgery . Geez.

    thank you my friend, im 40 and for the first time im experiencing severe anxiety depression and panics, ive been dizzy with head pressure for over a week. ive been to the doctors twice in a week and went to emergency room and got 2 cat scan blood test ekgs and even a had my prostate checked. Everything came negative and perfect health condition but then WHY my headaches and dizziness, pressure, my chest hurts my hands get numb my nose gets congested without mucus. I feel like i cant escape this, wanting to get back to normal, im afraid to sleep cause i feel like im never gonna wake up again. my body hurts, i cry and cry and cry. im tired and I Pray to God to not take me yet cause i have 2 little girls i need to be there for them. I worry my wife and then she gets anxious. I always tought it was a mental thing but never new it came with body pains. But i went to the root of cause and got a piece of mind but i still feel my aches and desperation but i know is part of the conditions so instead of panicking about it i just accept take deep breaths talk to God and then i calm down. stop being afraid of yourself and youll eventually would get better. love you guys and remember, your not alone. God bless and pray a lot. it helps just have faith

    My biggest frustration is even if I can manage to be pretty calm on the outside, at times, I start having heart palpitations and social anxiety when in a crowd or talking to someone I don't know well. It is SO uncomfortable. I want to change my subsconcious mind but here it is holding on to deep down information and I have no idea how to get rid of it. Something is just not resolved apparently.

      Hey Colleen if you're still struggling, you could give the "vacate fear" channel a chance! (Just search it on youtube). He talks about just that and he does live streams several times a week with a kinda "lecture" in the beginning and then question time after that. It's the only thing that has truly actually helped me and I thought maybe it could help you too :)

It wasn't until I realized I had brain fog that I was able to change my diet and begin working on my inner thoughts, and I'm now beginning to see changes in the right direction. It's a process for sure.

    Got a question I stay tense in my shoulders and then I get a shooting pain in my head. I been to the neurologist and have had numerous ct scans of my head all normal. But I still am scared I have a anuresynm or I'm gonna have a stroke. And then I will get weakness all of a sudden but when I do all the neurologic signs of a stroke I'm actually not weak at all it just feels like it . This all kicked in 5 months after my mother died in March of this year.

    Would be interesting to take some kind of survey for ppl who experience anxiety. I believe we are all very intelligent. For example, I have 2 college degrees (not bragging...I have low self esteem so would never brag). Imagine all of us carry on ours day, lives, problems, stress....all while dealing with these symptoms. We are multitasking in our brains all the time. Those who have never experienced this, have difficulty with their daily lives. So I'm thinking we all are very intelligent. Don't let anyone tell you different. Food for thought.

    • @inceptionsd
      @inceptionsd 3 года назад +1

      I completely agree. Thats because people with above-average intellect tend to think much faster, their brain is much more active, so if their subconscious becomes flawed it snowballs so quickly, and then you are left with overthinking unrealistic thoughts and your mind constantly creates unrealistic scenarios in your head, and you are forced to constantly make plans on how to deal with it.

    Nausea is the symptom I hate the most. That's usually the symptom that turns into a deal breaker for me. The heavy breathing, pounding heart, clammy hands and light headedness I can handle, but the idea that I might start vomiting is where I always draw the line. The irony is that I've never vomited even from the most severe of anxiety or panic attacks, and I also know that the chances of it happening are rare because it usually involves a bad case of vertigo and an imbalance in your CO2 levels, but that's the one debilitating symptom I've had trouble overcoming.
