- Serato Studio is beatmaking software aimed at DJs, and it’s a great tool for making DJ edits of songs you’ve got in your library. One of the most useful edits to make is called the “intro edit”, which makes songs easier to beatmix.
Serato Studio makes it possible to finish an intro edit in just a few steps. So let’s go over how easy it is to complete an intro edit from start to finish using Serato Studio.

My man dropping another knowledge bomb! Thank you bro.

No problem, thanks for watching!
after watching a few vids I'm in you made it simple to follow.
Awesome! Have fun with it :)
Thanks, was really clear :)
You're welcome!
I liked this video, easier to follow than others i watched so far
Thanks!
Thanks for the tips. 🎧🎧🎧🎤🎤🎧🎤🎧🎤
You're welcome :)
Gracias por la explicación más entretenida y precisa que encontré sobre Serato studio … ahora si me intereso !! Gracias muchas gracias
De nada Christian
l've had this program but you helped me out a lot thanks!
Glad to help :)
Awesome tutorial. Way better then Seratos which was too fast and confusing. Thank You!
No problem, glad we could help!
Supper Explanatory
Thanks!
The Beat section starts on the three, when it should start on the 1 to flow naturally. I'm sorry but being a dj channel this should be essentail and could confuse beginner DJs. Please be careful.
nice one! is it possible add reverb or other effects on edits in serato studio?
Yep! :)
I'm having issues doing edits with this software. It keeps changing the key whenever i add a second audio track.
Way more effective instruction than the one on Serato Dj’s channel
Glad we could help!
What if editing a song that has low volume, is it possible to raise volume of song recording like in audacity or will serato studio do it automatically?
Yes there is a gain control :)
nice work but the first part is where the problem is. u didn't start from the first beat that is why the timing wasn't perfect between the 2 parts.
Thanks for the feedback Anis :)
How do you zoom in ahhhh I can't find it at 11:50
Try pressing +/- :)
How do you zoom in and out
Thanks for the video. My main problem is I need to CREATE a intro and Outro with a song that have no instrumental to duplicatied. Not Even half of a beat. I know also that you can create a beat from scratch with Serato Studio. My song is perfectly beatgrided. I just need to create a 8 bar beat with same BPM and Key to make it similar, Hope you'll understand what i mean (english not my first langage.
Yes, you can crate beats in Serato Studio - or take a beat from another similar track and use that.
Is it possible to make one combined song from 2 songs?
Yes it is :)
Can this be done using the free version or do I need the paid version?
We haven't tried the free version in much detail but I believe you can yes
kaytranada - you've got good taste!
👌
Can you make a video using ableton 🙌🏻
Thanks for the suggestion Victor :)
How to create music folder on your Mac book for Serato dj
Well you can just right click on your desktop and create a folder to stick your music in, or you can do it all in Serato itself
It was not very good because the change to Vocal was abrupt. Perhaps an echo effect would have made it smoother and more professional.
Rodrigo Amaral yea I would reverse the vocal to a crash cymbal
Sure, many different things you could do - Thanks for watching :)
I was gonna say the same thing. Lol. That was a horrible edit . You need to totally cut out that acapella in the beginning
What if there isn't a clean drum outro ? Can I still make an Intro Edit?
If you can find any part of the drums that are relatively "clean", yes.
Hey, Bro, I'm not clear I need more help please to edit
We'll see if we can make some more videos to help :)
Does the rekordbox have something like this
No it doesn't
@@digitaldjtips Does this mean this software edits only work in Serato ? I mean I would understand the cue points not converting but what about re-edit the stem itself?
A simpler version under the creative plan on RB6
Couldn’t you just loop the last 4 bars, then set a cue point on the vocal? Would take years to create intros this way, nice to have the option though. Rekordbox has had track editing forever, although i still prefer ableton
Sure, plenty of ways to achieve the same thing :)
Why not just Loop it?
Fl studio would be easier. Hope Serato would have their own DAW in the future. That will be interesting
Many ways of accomplishing the same thing, just showing some of what Serato Studio can do :)
Serato Studio is a non-technician DAW :)
It’s to music production what Final Cut Pro X is to video editing. It’s new, different and easier.
I would add a crash cymbal to start the song. I can do this easy in Ableton Live
I can do this using just the decks I’ve done it before 👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾
Serato Flip is great for making edits as well direct in the DJ software :)
It looks like... Serato Studio sucks.
Not really the best way for work.
Daws are much much better.
And now stems are on next level, but it seems you can't filter a cut and put at the beginning as intro, cause filter for instruments work the whole track... almost useless
Serato Studio is not meant to be a full-on DAW.
If you sample the intro in a separate track you are able to use the stems and take out any vocials you like, you can also add a clap or re-durum intro. I agree, SS is not the best DAW but it has came a long way over the few years it has been out. It's a really good DAW for basic stuff, and extremely user friendly for those who don't understand something like ableton or PT. Give it a few more years and I think it will be comparable to FL. Remember FL was much more basic than SS when it first launched many years ago.
