I thoroughly enjoyed watching this episode. Thank you for putting it together. “To What Type Of Life Am I Going To Gift My Time? Greatest saying I ever heard!
I really enjoyed reaching out to all these people and seeing where they are right now, and what they're working on. So yeah, it was real:) Thanks for watching.
These compilations are so evocative of changes needed "20 years ago" (like tree planting in the southwest) but can still be done now. Thank you for another stellar effort.
Because of this video I am currently collecting a small army of plastic bottles for hanging planters. It is a very inspiring video and I am not a person who is easily pleased let alone inspired with any frequency, I've lived too long for that.
The biggest take away I have is that after this Pandemic is over and things return to what we think is normal, don't be the normal you were. No need to be paranoid, but have a game plan, be more self sustainable even if only a small bit. We can see that those that did it all along are doing much better.
I don't think we are going back to a normal or not the normal we once knew. Just like after 9/11, the public was OK with going to war and signing the Patriot Act where we lost many privacy rights, now nefarious interests are using this pandemic as an opportunity to take as many civil liberties from us as they can. There will be a mandated vaccine we'll all have to take and an app that we'll all download in our phones if we want to gather in groups, travel out of state, or out of the country, return to work, allow our children to go to school at a school and so on. The app will track where you go and your socio-economic status and using algorithms will determine if you have a high or low potential for transmitting the virus and restrict what you can do accordingly. Whether or not you carry the virus won't matter. They're already doing this in China and Singapore. The vaccines will not protect you from the virus and will be more dangerous than the virus itself, and whoever makes the vaccines will make billions and the doctors and politicians they bribe will too. Schools may or may not return to what they once were. There will be a push to move education out of the classroom and in front of computer or smart phone screens. Laugh and ridicule me if you like but just wait and see what happens.
@@BlackRaven156 I do agree with a lot of what you said in Regards to population control but I still think those extreme measures will be implemented in Asia and not so much the West. Countries that understand freedom have smarter citizens.

Thank you for being part of the thread that binds us all together, 5 years off grid, tiny, trying to be sustainable, sometimes I feel alone. my Dog died, I am alone, your videos help.
That might be the best tiny house video ever! It goes straight to the heart of the movement. I am 80% built but 900 miles from my off grid property on the Cumberland River across from the Daniel Boone National Forest. I'm using this time to complete the build. I pray they will let me pull my house to my property. I'm probably 75 to 80% reclaimed material with wind, solar, water collection and a complete reverse osmosis filtration system. My biggest fear is not being able to get to my property in time to clear land and build a greenhouse before winter sets in.
Kirsten and all. This truly is a time of simultaneous worldwide self-reflection I would think never witnessed before. For me, it's remarkable how our isolation has perhaps shown us more of what the true essence of human life really is. And that our thoughts, cares and love of the human spirit are much more connected than we once thought. Thank you Kirsten for putting together and sharing these stories.
Thank you Kirsten for this video during lockdown in times of corona. No one knows what will come, no one knows how earth living will be in future. Nature is recovering, rivers and seas clean up, fishes come back. Birds are singing in trees. Lucky when you have your own property to live and plant your own food. What is really important? We all sit in the same boat, all over the world. We have to work together.
Videos like these really help to dispel stereotypes about self-reliant living by showing it's not just some hippie thing or prepper thing, self-reliant living should really be something that's integrated into everybody's lives to a reasonable degree but companies and governments don't care about making more of an effort to encourage it, they want us to be dependant on them, they wanna give us fish without telling us how to use a fishing rod

About the first one in the video, one way to make it more thermally insulated is to simply add another layer.
