Stop recliner wall damage

Steps to mitigate your recliner from destroying/shredding your wall.
Tools I used:
- Caulk gun
- Tape measure
- Scissors or tech snipps
- Putty knife
Materials I used:
- anti slip material or yoga mat from 99cent store
- 100% silicone tube

Glad it worked for you. For me, I had to upgrade to 2x4 when my 400lbs relative sat hard. The dowels had no chance. If you do need more support, you can try a thicker dowel, or 2x4 but go in about 1 to 2 ft so it is not noticeable.

Did this with 4x2 but did it about a foot in from each side so it's not noticeable from the outside. Cheers.

I have a 450 lbs family member that flopped himself on this. Poor little dowels had no fighting chance.
I redid it with 2x4. Probably could have used 2x2, but I had scraps 2x4 around so used that
