I really love the AMGs that you are collecting especially the SLS black series, that's a proper machine, no pumped in audio no limited revs or anything just a raw machine

U X i agree with you, on this type of cars the sound cant come from the speakers. But i think in more regular cars its ok because the European co2 rules are killing the sound in cars that where never that loud from factory. So the sound generates a little bit of experience.
@@chris_k02 Rentech doesn’t remove the OPF & other filter since the car wouldn’t be allowed on the road. So yea they can get a little bit more out of it but not the maximum

Won't help much. The reason for this sound is because of the flatplane crankshaft. Regular AMG GT has crossplane crank. American V8's for example mostly use crossplane crankshaft. It's why they have deeper rumble.
@@jpracing893 No it's not. The Black series AMG GT uses a flatplane crankshaft. The other AMG GT models have a crossplane crankshaft V8. In the flat-plane V8 engine, it looks like an inline four-cylinder model - except for the wider crankpins, which have two connecting rods each in the V8.

I would hate to listen to that irritating and unnecessary bit of carnival theater and be pissed off that the marketing team at Mercedes thought I should hear it. Cut the wires and be public about until they can produce a switch to turn it off. Next thing you know car companies will program their cars to say soothing phrases like "oh you are such a stud when you drive hard like that!"

Never understood y amg uses single rear calipers. Even when you option the 6k carbon ceramics in some cars you get a cheapy steel rotor in the rear. Totally unacceptable and looks like garbage.

So, it’s not a terrible comparison at all... if you owned an AMG you’d know this through evolution of various modes... it just shows how new regulations and restrictions are having an impact on the driving and sound experience of a high performance car.
so why there are still some big engines like 8,2l v10 viper ,or 6l v12 (pagani ,aventador, 812 superfast...) and v8 (challenger, trackhawk, mustang, ....) V10 from r8 and huracan (same engine) The point is bigger engine sounds better, so how did these cars pass emissions and all regulations, and why amg can't do that? Or they don't want do that...

Although my issues arent the sound for the black series gt. I would ditch the speakers all together/ ditch the AC/ make it as light as possible and get the nurburing numbers everyone is waiting for. I’m not surprised to see such genuineness from you, but nevertheless you continue to show why you’re the best. And I honestly feel it’s important that you did not avoid the elephant in the room here, since you have such influence and were even involved in promo for this car for Mercedes AMG (my lips are sealed 😁 🤐). But this is something, honestly, that’s impossible to miss when watching this video. The sound on the outside is more subdued than an entry level AMG car. As another commenter said, you only hear tire noise during flybys... It’s kind of insane. And then even worse than that, the fake and droning, electronic, piped in interior noise is genuinely UNBEARABLE, I really cannot fathom how they did this! It doesn’t even sound good!! I've seen a lot of people complain about the sound of this car. While I agree that it doesn't sound as great as you expect it should, I'm looking forward to what can be done with an exhaust set up. It might not change it too much, but at least it won't sound like a vacuum cleaner XD

First of all, I think the sound of this GT BS is kinda unique for this FP Mercedes AMG V8 engine. It's not best sounding V8 and it's dull and it kinda reminds me of the A45S/CLA45S/GLA45S but with double the capaticity and the amount of cylinders. So, if this has a tuned exhaust and a sound amplifier thing removed, this thing is a beast . Love your videos and keep up the good work, SHMEE. Love from Malaysia.

if you listen to most race cars and slightly older sports cars, they dont pop and crackle on the overrun. pops and crackles almost always come from the tune, whether from factory (supra) or an aftermarket tune (ricers)
Tbh I know you're doing a crazy job with a lot of work put into it and you need to refinance all of the expenses, but the ads are getting a little bit out of hand now. 4 ad breaks in the first 10 minutes is something I haven't seen on any channel before.
Mercedes needs to make a S 150 with your help in designing the car you have the extensive knowledge of the industry and an appreciation for the AMG way

Think about it, the visceral sound of the AMG v8 is what makes the senses tingle, it is what makes this vehicle stand out amongs other brands, making it sound like a totally different car - at the moment sadly it sounds like a mclaren, a vehicle which I respect but is something that should exist in its own
@Shmee150, 1:21 I know it’s nit-picky, but it’s not a spoiler; it’s a wing. And I see a lot of people make this mistake. A spoiler spoils lift by preventing the air from following the rear of the car downward (which would otherwise create a low pressure area above), but a wing, due to its shape, actually creates a low pressure area underneath it-pulling the rear of the car down. In other words, a spoiler spoils the lift that the shape of a car naturally generates, and a wing itself actually creates downforce by pulling the car downward. You do seem to get it right at 2:55, so maybe just a mistake, but a lot of people use the terms interchangeably-not knowing the difference. Great video, as usual though! I can’t wait for you to get your Black Series 👍🏻

I've seen a lot of people complain about the sound of this car. While I agree that it doesn't sound as great as you expect it should, I'm looking forward to what can be done with an exhaust set up. It might not change it too much, but at least it won't sound like a vacuum cleaner XD

First of all, I think the sound of this GT BS is kinda unique for this FP Mercedes AMG V8 engine. It's not best sounding V8 and it's dull and it kinda reminds me of the A45S/CLA45S/GLA45S but with double the capaticity and the amount of cylinders. So, if this has a tuned exhaust and a sound amplifier thing removed, this thing is a beast . Love your videos and keep up the good work, SHMEE. Love from Malaysia.

if you listen to most race cars and slightly older sports cars, they dont pop and crackle on the overrun. pops and crackles almost always come from the tune, whether from factory (supra) or an aftermarket tune (ricers)

Mclaren always have gone for the high speed kinda side. Amg is more supposed as a tourer and daily drive ability
But also, the Senna is 70hp more, even more aero, and weighs a few hundred kgs less. Simple maths!

@Amarjit Singh Both are limited. The difference is that the GT Black Series is a heavily tuned supercar while the senna is a hypercar. Way more insane and not based on a "regular" model etc. Carbon core and everything

Think about it, the visceral sound of the AMG v8 is what makes the senses tingle, it is what makes this vehicle stand out amongs other brands, making it sound like a totally different car - at the moment sadly it sounds like a mclaren, a vehicle which I respect but is something that should exist in its own

@Shmee150, 1:21 I know it’s nit-picky, but it’s not a spoiler; it’s a wing. And I see a lot of people make this mistake. A spoiler spoils lift by preventing the air from following the rear of the car downward (which would otherwise create a low pressure area above), but a wing, due to its shape, actually creates a low pressure area underneath it-pulling the rear of the car down. In other words, a spoiler spoils the lift that the shape of a car naturally generates, and a wing itself actually creates downforce by pulling the car downward. You do seem to get it right at 2:55, so maybe just a mistake, but a lot of people use the terms interchangeably-not knowing the difference.
