HRV and Ash Canyon are the two maps where I'd rather take condition damage and hunker down versus trying to travel across with limited visibility, I respect your bravery of just going for it. "Getting lost" reminds me almost exactly the times I got lost while hiking off trail in the mountains of Oregon. All of a sudden things don't look familiar, directions are confused until . . . they aren't. And reminds me just how dangerous it is to be out hiking around on off trail. Getting lost is extremely easy especially at night or other site impared conditions.

Was watching while playing, and I was in the ice caves as Zak was talking about Sketchy. I'd already spent 8 days in HRV without Sketchy. Climbed down the rope in the dark and was immediately jumped. Lost my jeans and toque. 🤕
When you get out of the ice cave, there should be a rope attached to the left, I usually take that rope and attach it at the signal fire. That way you'll have a save route down if you don't have a hatchet or don't feel safe goating down the mountain. It also took me 5 days to get kind of familiar with the region but I managed it.
Can confirm that if you even touch the deer carcass it initiates the decay mechanic, just tested it out the other day. Interacted without taking, it was gone later.

Hi Zak! First off I love your vids almost more than playing myself lol! I have spawned in HRV once on the new patch and had the North/Upper Signal Fire. I have watched multiple of your videos and other on how to get over the barrier without a hatchet, but I couldn't pull it off this time for the life of me (and Will as I died stubbornly). For now I expect weekly episodes. It will be 3-10 days per episode I imagine, depending on activity. It will take a while, yes.
50:56 How did you eradicate your fatigue-o-meter without sleeping? It's been years since I last played. I lost interest when they refused to add a craftable travois. They said it would be too much of a 'game-changer'. But it's finally here. So I have to relearn the whole game.
Not sure what you mean? How I eradicated it?
@@Zaknafein I rewatched it and paid closer attention. Fatigue wasn't eliminated until you slept in Sketchy's cave. I somehow thought fatigue had disappeared while you were eating or drinking something at your camp fire. I have too many tabs open. Boredom is starting to rise after three years out of work. 😏
HRV makes me sick, literally. The trees do this thing called "cardboarding" (I think that's what it's called) and I got so motion sick I had to abort ship lol
