Things I love about the new Ruroc Atlas 2.0: Very lightweight Great vision Great airflow for summer riding I love the Fidlock retention system Things I think need improvement on the Ruroc Atlas 2.0: The headliner could use some more padding More options to turn off ventilation Very noisy with no ear protection Not an entry-level helmet based on price, but has entry-level features. @Random dude Well I currently have a Shoei as my primary and from a safety standpoint I would disagree. Plus the Shoei is quieter. I suppose I could throw some graphics on it myself.
That's a shame to hear, it hasn't even been released yet 😅. As always we (Ruroc) take the feedback on board and will get to work on implementing what we can but there are a couple of things Dan mentioned that aren't of concern or aren't changeable due to the laws of DOT. Firstly the metal locking pin that interacts with the visor - we actually thought the same as Dan when we designed it, so we built a machine that literally opens and closes the visor - we then assumed that over the life cycle of a helmet which is 3 years a rider might open and close the visor 30ish times a day, everyday, for 3 years (extreme I know!)... So after 36000 cycles the visor, mechanism and locking pin all still work as good as new. If you factor that you might wear the dark visor and the clear visor every other day then the visor would only have half that amount of usage. With the whole "gaps in the headliner" thing, they're there because legally for the DOT FMVSS218 certification you can't block the information written on the EPS stickers. That safety information has to be readable by any rider just by looking down into the helmet :)
Sorry to add another thing, it's impossible to compare an entry-level helmet that is made of lower quality injected Plastic to a full Carbon Fibre shell which is what Atlas is. When comparing Atlas to other helmets using Fibreglass / Carbon actually Atlas is generally lower than even the brands using just Fibreglass - so safety wise it's more bang for your buck, but the shell alone costs us more than people charge for an ABS plastic motorcycle helmet 😅
@@slimguy94 prices are going to be virtually the same as the 1.0 is now, and the remaining 1.0 stock with be discounted until it's sold through and then it'll be fully discontinued :)
Woohoo, I'm on the screen in the background; I'm famous! I've been testing mine, going to take it out in the cold tonight and I'm really looking forward to reviewing it. I'm sure I'll reference some of your observations.
Seeing it advertised on FB really makes me think irs a shill helmet. And thanks to FortNine for letting me know DoT is self tested. I dont trust this helmet

@@tywyeth1680 shouldn't have to go the length of getting custom padding for a helmet of that price that's pretty ridiculous if you need to do that after spending out on it.
@@Cj-mj4xg I've got one and it's really poor quality lining. And the chin bar actually touches the tip of my nose. Not worth it just for the look so many other great helmet around. Mines just an ornament now it didn't fit right so is unsafe for me at least.
Finally, an honest review. I would like one of these but too many reviews on RUclips are sponsored and dont talk enough about the negatives. Still think they're the best looking lids out there. Appreciate the video.
I know this is a year old comment but this company is smart they are pushing a lot of money into advertising and it will be very hard to find a true honest review from any of the big mototubers on here because they are all paid by the companies.
Thank you for the review! I ALMOST went with the Atlas 2.0 but a a vlogger and long distance rider, you helped me realize it wasn't the right gear for me. Just stepped up from the Scorpion exoR710 to the Shoei RF1200.
Indeed ! Most reviews or feedback from those “who actually bought” aren’t good. Unfortunately several MotoVloggers that receive freebies and/or are sponsored but Ruroc promote and keep raving about the product senseless. I appreciate your honest review which matches in some points from other unhappy buyers. I do respect Ruroc awesome design and the fact they were smart to bypass retailers. I am sticking with brands that are proven and have been around the block for generations. (Bell and Arai)
I have a Ruroc Riot helmet and I’m not going to lie... I will give the helmet a C+... The Chin curtain broke before I even wore it and the Velcro for the padding lost its sticky after I put the Ruroc Shockwave into the helmet. The Shockwave bluetooth Sound system only work twice. While it was working my girlfriend could hear me clearly but since the helmet is so loud I couldn’t hear her really at all. Unfortunately the Bluetooth system stopped working before I could adjust the earphone again so I sent the Shockwave back to Ruroc. The helmet itself feels like it needs to tilt forward more on my head also. All in all I like my AGV helmet more but I got the Ruroc for the looks and how the Bluetooth fits into the helmet lol. I wish I would’ve got the modular Scorpion Evo. P.S. Ruroc is one of those companies with no phone number. I was only able to get a hold of them through Instagram in order to send back my Shockwave. They were suppose to give me my money back but they sent me a new one and I’m currently in the process of sending it back
Just two hours ago received my RuRoc Shuriken. And what I can say ..... ! Just couple of words.... it’s doesn’t worth all that money what I pay. It’s looks nice. That’s it ! Quality is 2 of 5 ! All inside it’s not stable at all. Chins removed to install Bluetooth and after fix it back. It looks not good quality. Fixing it’s poor to compare to my shark helmet. Speakers Velcro glued very poorly. Microphone Velcro doesn’t stick at all to the helmet. Right speaker buzzing on a full volume. Helmet it looks to big not enough inner liner. A lots free space inside. All rubber seals around a helmet it’s poor quality. It looks like just nice looking but quality is not enough. Very good idea but still need to improve! My big mistake this helmet !
Gee Ru yes they need to refine their helmets for sure! They need to stop coming out with new colorful designs for right now and focus on the consumer reviews on the helmets and fix the issues people are reporting.
I guess that no-phonenumber companies is the new way to avoid problems. Anyways, is a nice gesture that Ruroc works in upgrade their helmets to the costumers... May to the 3rd or 4th generation do something that deserves the price, 'cause you still paying for shipment and taxes in some countries. I mean, it must not makes you regret. I bought mine (I saw this video after I ordered the helmet), but Ruroc's warehouse wasn't prepared, so I gotta wait for this until May... They told that with some luck, it could be sent by the end of March (even I bought it the first day) Bad, bad, bad... Things why I'm concerned 1) up vents seem cannot be closed (what if it rains) 2) Shockwave quality (some bad comments about this on the web)
Thank you! So sick of people giving stupidly complimentary reviews where they talk about how cool it is for ages and then say it's a fantastic helmet without justifying safety or utility. I want one but refuse to buy gear that no one will be honest about, speaks badly about the product and the integrity of all involved.
Ouuuf.... thank God I watched this first. I literally had this helmit in the shopping cart ready to buy. I then decided to watch your review before pulling the trigger. Thanks! I Think ill chose something else.
was considirng the helmet, alot of people said great things about it, but after wathing this i will spend my money elsware, thanks for being honest, have a great day
@@danruroc i need a helmet that i can use for both winter and summer, and considring the poor padding in the helemt, i want somthing that is comfy, if i am to drop 400-500 bucks for a helmet it should be comfy. so i would rather pay a 100 more and get a good cualety helmet form someone els (shoie, arial, bell, agv etc)
@@brennern6794 Hey Brennern, that's a shame the padding is actually really comfortable it's a shame that Dan wasn't impressed with it but actually the cut outs are there for legal compliance reasons that are required by the DOT standard which says that safety information must be clearly displayed in a permanently fixed position and must visible when the riders looks into the helmet. If comfort liner is closed in those areas it wont pass the certification of DOT. You should give Atlas a go, it is super comfy :) I've just gone down into our lab to check and the Shoei NXR has the exact same cut outs, the Fly Racing lid has multiple holes all over the comfort liner, the AGV Corsa has padding stuck down to the EPS that is non removable, the Bell Racestar Flex a $750 helmet has.... you guessed it, the required cut out area so that the legal DOT information is required. The only helmet in our lab without this cut out is a Premier, but the liner was non-removable and non-washable so obviously this is considered a permanent fixture and therefor complies to the DOT standard, but obviously if you can't wash it then that's pretty disgusting in the long run!
@@danruroc still, my main issiue it to much vents, i ride snow mobile in the winter and it get really cold -20 to -30 degrees celsius, and if it snowing hard i fear alot of snow will pass thruw the top vents and down in the helmets, as far as im aware you cannot close the top vents, correct me if im wrong, cuz i would love that helmet, but i need to be able to close most vent, espesally the top ones.
With regards to the head liner not covering all the EPS (polystyrene) it isn't legally allowed to cover it all as per the rules of the DOT FMVSS218 standard which says you need to be able to look into the helmet and visibly see permanently fixed information such as the stickers that you can see on the EPS detailing how to care / replace the helmet etc :) Different thicknesses of the liner are available if needed and we (Ruroc) supply those free of charge! 😁 But we can't legally supply a liner that would cover up the safety info as that has to be readable just by looking down into the helmet
Kudos to a company that actively seeks criticism. I have no need for a helmet yet, but in a couple years I'm due and at the rate yall have been going in the motorcycle world, you're on my radar. On the other hand, I have used your helmets for snowboarding so you already have a vote of confidence here.
So you can't sell the liners if they cover the internal sticker, but that shouldn't stop an individual from modifying it themselves right? Or could you also offer an optional liner separately with the disclaimer that it voids the DOT cert?
@@8AJX5 it's your helmet :) you can wear it with what you like but we can't sell uncertified or uncertifiable mods. Helmets that have the gaps fully covered are not DOT certified OR TIF they are it's because the liner is not removable and therefore the warning label can be placed on the liner itself :)
Not sure if anyone’s mentioned, but as a Canadian this shipped from Great Britain, and you want to be absolutely sure you want it and will get the right size, as return shipping was quoted at over $300!
Not a very good helmet considering the comptetion is so much better in fit and quality for the price. The top vent don't shut and ive had small flys and mosquitoes blown into my eyes actually making my eyes sore after riding any distance in it. Glad to see an actual motorcyclist review it.
Thank you for a very honest review Dan, since so many people are currently interested in getting this helmet this has truly provided great insight, specially for guys like me from South Africa, much appreciated.
The area around the metal locking pin and the visor itself doesn't wear down even after 36,000 lift cycles. It's been extensively tested at our in-house lab :)
@@jezzamouse5644 we looked at it, but genuinely it isn't needed. We'll actually be releasing a video in the coming weeks of our test rig to show you guys how we validate the safety and life cycle of things like the visor. It's with a custom / purpose built piece of kit that just runs through lift after lift to make sure you guys are safe, and that your helmet will go the distance!
Not relevant to your point but, what head shape is it for? Do you have any third party shops or is it only possible to get it through your website, because a live test fit would be great for everyone.
@@vasilisgreen it's an intermediate oval :). Manny Manson sorry dude we're only a shipping warehouse in Glos! We don't have staff on hand for fitting / sales etc we do all of that online. Unfortunately we don't have dealers anywhere, we only sell direct to customers. We found retailers don't have the space to take a full range of colours and sizes and so people would go to a store and order their size and colour there... Wait 3/4 days for the store to place the order with us for one helmet... We'd ship it and it would arrive a few days later at the store and then the end customer arranges to go in a few days after that. For us we think it just makes sense for riders to pick their lid online with us, get it delivered next day... Doesn't fit? We'll send you different padding for free if you think that's all you need? Too tight? Too loose? We'll send you the next size up or down! All of that happens in less time than dealing with a store. Also, by having the helmet at home you can sit with it on around the house for a couple of hours if you want to check it truly fits... But in a store you've got like a minute to decide before you become the odd guy standing around in a helmet for twenty minutes 😆 The other benefit is that if you're dealing direct with us, and you find an issue with your lid a couple of years down the line you can just come back to us and if it's a manufacturing defect thing we'll fix it straight away with no messing around getting old receipts or anything from a store. Lastly we offer a Crash Replacement service which is basically £20 and it means if you ever have a crash and need to replace your lid it's 50% off the next one :) which is pretty awesome if you think a lid should last you 3 years, and if you crash in it you're only gonna have to spend around £150 to get a full Carbon Fibre helmet replacement 😁
I always loved the looks of Rurac helmets. Never owned one, I had an Icon AirFlite in Flat black and Bright red tinted shield, Then after my son passed away I sold my R6, and Bought an R1. So now have an Icon Airframe Azrael Edition. Was my son's name, and it was red themed like my bike. But it was the "Azrael" across the back that forced me to buy it. Like he's with me in a way. I was wearing that helmet when I totaled my R1 too. Highsided, trying to lay it down at like 40mph, made it less than 1/8th of a mile from my house, trying to lay it down to avoid a car, i saw ONE route thru that bullshit... I highsided and launched myself at like 40mph off the bike which was VIOLENTLY flipping and rolling directly the curb, and a tree, missed both cars AND my buddy was literally behind the car that cut me off and watched ALL of this. On God, I landed on my feet, going way too fast but managed to jump the curb, and half-juke/half-fckn-body a tree, smashed my head on the way by bcuz of the extra bulk and momentum....🤷 I didn't get knocked out. Close. And then I faceplanted so hard it knocked the wind out of me more than the tree I essentially ricocheted Off of LOL skid another SOLID 50yards on my face and chest in the grass. Broke BOTH my feet, my right ankle, dislocated and fractured the left and like 7 broken/ dislocated toes. I had FULL Gear, except was LAZY about my Boots, and threw on some slip on sketchers omw out the door, was only goin a half mile lol. BAD CALL. But, my helmet has some battle wounds, still sound as can be. So is my Dome. Lol Pants and jacket were totally fine, jus dirty. Legit JUST my feet and ankles shattered like glass. The ONE place I didn't have Gear on for. Go figure. Moral to this WAYYYY too long tale in the RUclips comments...? Ruroc helmets look dope. Icon is my go to tho... Preference. ****PS: ALWAYS WEAR YOUR GEAR. DO. NOT. SKIMP. Safety above all, y'all. Keep shit current. Keep it clean. Keep it in good condition. And make sure you get the best protection you can at your Price point. But don't SKIMP on the gear. Its literally your life. Your WAY of life. I'd know... Live to ride another day. Ik my daughter is sure glad I did, her mother... Def not. LOL
I pinlock all helmets, so definitely anti-fog. If there's too much ventilation, close the vents. I think it's just inside the chin. Fully open, facing up (on the visor for anti-fog) & fully closed
Put a single stitch into the red release strap to hold it in place. It will break when pulled but it will keep the strap from getting stuck in a big loop
I bought an Atlas Mercury, and for the money, expected good things from a helmet company that have been in snow sports for some time! Ultimately, I felt there were so many short falls with the helmet. Padding, sound insulation, ventilation were major issues. I also found the visor was never 100% shut, so there was always an issue there. No closeable vents so I always felt a draft of air going right in my eyes, after a while this is really tiring. As you say, the fidlock is cool, but it's a pretty poor helmet considering the price. What does it say when they're onto the atlas 4.0 in something like 2 years? Went back to shoei as soon as I could afford to. Lessons learnt, thank you for the honest review. Refreshing to see someone not being sponsored by ruroc talk openly
I have had mine on today for the first time and I must 100% agree the lining is way too soft and squishy and not a patch on the quality of my HTC Goan at the same price point. It needs to be alot firmer foam used in the cheek pads and rest of the helmet as it very noisy aswell
ECE is the best rating worldwide, period. It’s needed for MotoGP top of the line helmets. Snell rating is pretty good extra bonus if it’s Snell approved but not a street requirement, DOT from my research is bare minimum safety required for a street helmet. The price of this is pretty cheap considering me and my parents had ECE race helmets for 2k-4K pounds. Great Review of the helmet and love that your all about the actual safety of the helmets! Thanks from a fellow Firefighter & Motorcycle racer! 👩🚒😎
The clear visor sticker has a white anti fog sticker on it to clarify it is Anti fog ready, the black one does not thats why the pin lock is included, that black sticker is generic, the white sticker is the one you want to look for.
Not a fan of the pinlock myself. Just tried one for the first time. The vision definitely isn't as good. On the road it's not bad enough to make much difference, but just looking out of one standing around it seems dark and distorted compared to a normal shield. The worst part was riding in the fog. The condensation actually got between the plastic panels and made it impossible to see thru. I had to lift the lid. I'll never use another one. A single pane, a little water displacing cleaner, and a crack in the shield when it gets cold out has always worked just fine for me.
Years later.... I'm still waiting for ruroc to send me my helmet to review... 😅 cool helmets but not a fan of how they just ghosted me Like a some tinder hoar 😅
I recieved my 2.0 el Diablo. I agree with the wind noise and air circulation inside the helmet. The vent above the shield has no shut off for the air. Looking into the helmet at a angle you can see light through the vent meaning when you ride in the rain your head will get wet including the inside of the helmet. I see no way to close the air vents other than the one on the chin guard. Also my helmet never came with the pin lock.
Glad you are an honest person and youtuber not like blockhead fat belly dude or chaseontwowheels ,to those guys everything they get for reviews are perfect , you can tell when guys only cares about money and what they can get,,,, keep doing a great job my friend
Great honest review. As a fellow bald man in sunny Southern California, I always wear a cheap balaclava just to put a texture barrier between my bare noggin and the helmet pads because I can’t stand the feeling of my skin on them. Plus, it lessens the need to wash the pads as often.
It's cute how they misspell the word "resistant" on the sticker label for the face shield. A little too much time snowboarding, and not enough spell-checking?
Thanks for the honest feedback. Awesome to hear all aspects of the helmet, not just the good. One thing I may have missed is fit...Was it true to size? My go-to daily wear helmet is an Arai Defiant Pro in Large. A couple of my other helmets are either large, or XL, depending on shape, manufacturer, etc. Thank you!
Still love that they are taking feed back from customers and applying them.Light weight carbon fiber you will have wind noise and for the liner I've seen a lot worse for more money.
I want a ruroc helmet, I don’t think we can do anything with wind noise because a helmet doesn’t seal our head in there, there are air gaps for some comfort and ventilation, helmet at ment to protect your head with some modern conveniences like Bluetooth, if you want a noise less more padded helmet might as well drive a car just say. Riding a motorcycle your supposed to feel free. Just my opinion. Also dan i love your channel that how I learn to ride and to self evaluate my own riding style.
@@danruroc well.. it is advertise that u shouldn't need it even if it comes with it. The shield says it's antifog so it should be, if not, don't say it.
I've watched a lot of moto vloggers review this helmet recently and I have to say yours is by far THE BEST AND MOST HONEST! You are the only one that has really dug in on things that are wrong or could be wrong with this helmet. I was thinking about purchasing this helmet and for the price this video has def made me rethink it. Def might be holding out. Besides I thought the bluetooth was included at the price not that it's an extra $150. Thanks dan!
Just a heads-up: The pinlock does not come with the helmet when you order it, but it does come with clear and dark shields. If you want the pinlock, it's a $25 extra that you have to add.
Came here to say this. Having many helmets already I know how invaluable having a pinlock insert is on cooler mornings where my breath would normally fog up a helmet so I bought 1 straight away when I ordered my first Ruroc 2 weeks ago through the stock market crash sale, I hope to hell it fits as I ordered the size based on the website's recommended sizing, I also hope it arrives in one piece, if I'm happy enough with it I will by an Atlas Core 2.0
hey dan kinda new to your channel .. i've seen a couple of the years. but thank you for the honest and in-depth review on the helmet i've been looking at getting. i have been watching ruroc for years at their helmets and have been wanting to get one and was wanting to get the 2.0 and all the other motovlogers have been putting them on a pedestal. so it is refreshing to watch someone pick it apart a bit👌👍👍👍👍
Yeah it's awesome to see Dan say he loves it, and to scrutinize the features that are legally required safety features - like the gaps in the liner that every helmet in the world has, and the emergency tabs that sit tight and flush to the cheek pads unless they've been activated 😄
Hi Dan Dan. I regret didn't follow your advice. Just receive my platinum ronin 2.0. So much defects, their QC really sucks. Extremely disappointed and really screw up my unboxing experience. Keep up giving honest review unlike the rest of motovlogger
I don't always everything this guy says but I have to give him kudos for a genuinely unbiased and comprehensive review of this helmet. I don't recall (maybe I missed?) him or any other reviewer commenting on the shape of this helmet in regards to aerodynamics. As much as I love the look/style of the helmet, its exterior shape makes me think it'd not be very aerodynamic and the rider may experience wobbling, at least at higher speeds at least, am I mistaken?
@@danruroc Have you actually worn one at speeds over 50+ mph? If it is indeed that good then kudos but just the front of the helmet which I could tell, was influenced from Samurai war masks, didn't look very aerodynamic.

Nice review, about helmets and seasons, I am lucky enough to have a winter and a summer helmet just like I have winter and summer clothes. They are completely different helmets, but they are the right tool for the job.
Which are the rough edges, we always look to improve but things like the cut outs in the liner are a legal requirement and are on all helmets... And the emergency straps tuck in and sit flush 💪 so no probs there either

@@Criztaztrophe if Dan wanted he could drop us a line to get alternative padding that might have been thicker or thinner depending on his personal requirements. Helmets are obviously a very personal thing so we encourage customers to drop us a line to get a different padset free of charge if they need it :). We'll be introducing vent plugs later in the year to fix the air flow :)
@@danruroc It LOOKS awesome. I'd love to try one out before I buy it, but that's not a possibility unless one of my friends decides to get one. I have seen reviews vs the Airflite and they have been inconclusive. But knowing the padding sets can be swapped out for free is definitely awesome of y'all.
@@Criztaztrophe if you've seen an inconclusive review against the Airflite then that would have been up against Atlas 1.0 ... So 2.0 would blow it out of the water (obviously biased but it is a hugely enhanced helmet). What country are you based in?
I love my original ruroc atlas. I will be getting the 2.0 because of the new features but I can honestly say coming from a dirt bike helmet to a full face like this, the noise level isnt that bad. the air flow is really nice too. I live in Canada and ride year round. hell yesterday (February 17th, 2020) I was out in -7C or 16F weather riding and had 0 complaints about the amount of air flow and getting cold. I will say the shields for the original atlas say they are anti-fog but they are not. I constantly have to open my shield at stop lights in the colder months to prevent my shield from fogging. Riding in cold rain also causes the shield to fog up massively due to the amount of air flow.
Nice jacket. Don't think I've seen you wear anything else besides that white and black one. Mind linking your other gear in this video in the description?
A good step in the right direction. Sadly for the same price you can have a sun drop visor, a more comfortable and isolated helmet, and a closing mechanism that isn't just a metal pin. So meh. They can do better.
Wouldn't it be useful to have Dual Visors? My mate has a Helme that has both a clear and Tinted Visor built-in. So in sunny weather, you have your tinted Visor and in Low Light or Night Riding, you use your Clear Visor. This would be really convenient!
So I took a quick look at your channel trying to find how you record your voice while riding and make it so clear without wind noise and no engine noise. Can you give me a run down on your setup?
Hey Dan, I'm wondering if you can give me some advice? I'm a disabled vet and I use assistance devices to walk. I got my motorcycle endorsement a few years ago as a way to prove to myself that my disability doesn't mean my life was over. I fell in love with riding right away and it's been like a drug! I'm hoping to start a motovlog that can be used to encourage others like myself with disabilities who have been interested in riding on two or even three wheels if possible. I don't own a bike yet and have just started pricing some items like action cameras, audio recording devices, gear, etc. I only rented bikes so far and borrowed a friend's bike when he goes out of town. How can I approach manufacturers without sounding like a grifter? Any recommendation would be helpful. Thanks again for reading and keep up the great videos!
ONLY vent that closes is the front "nostrils" they close on the inside. This is th eBIG drawback I see to Ruroc.... if they made it possible to close all the vents, for winter, I'd buy it without a second thought... as it is, i'll probably buy it anyway, but it's certainly an issue.
@DanDanTheFireman I am looking at this helmet and the bell bullitt. Of course I am looking at them because of the looks but I also care about the comfort of the ride. As a person who has rode with both helmets: 1. Which one is louder? 2. Which one is more comfortable? 3. Which one would you recommend? Thank you!
Bell Bullitt is louder, Atlas 2.0 is more comfortable, I can't recommend both. I love both and both have great styling. The Bullitt doesn't fit my head shape so it was not comfy. For the price, I'd rather have my Shoei Hornet X2 or the Shoei RF1200. It really is a toss up based on styling, but there are more features on the Atlas 2.0. So... Out of the two, I'd get the Atlas.
I went to the page and too many of the helmets weren't available until February 27th. Furthermore, the price range was 430 and up, yet the only feature that drew me was the paint job. I'll wait until the 27th and see what the 11 new features are. Currently I own two Arai and will try to give this company a change. But I'm skeptical.
The launch of the Atlas 2.0 is on Feb 27th that's why they're all saying that on the website 😄 - the helmets you can order online right now are the original 1.0 styles :)
Things I love about the new Ruroc Atlas 2.0:
Very lightweight
Great vision
Great airflow for summer riding
I love the Fidlock retention system
Things I think need improvement on the Ruroc Atlas 2.0:
The headliner could use some more padding
More options to turn off ventilation
Very noisy with no ear protection
Not an entry-level helmet based on price, but has entry-level features.
Check out the Atlas 2.0 Here: www.ruroc.com/en_us/atlas2

@Random dude I have several concerns about this lid. Sure I signed up for a free helmet to see if I liked it. But the price seems terribly inflated.
@Random dude Well I currently have a Shoei as my primary and from a safety standpoint I would disagree. Plus the Shoei is quieter. I suppose I could throw some graphics on it myself.
I'm glad someone finally gave some criticism on this helmet.....
Share away so others know!

Finally, an honest review. I would like one of these but too many reviews on RUclips are sponsored and dont talk enough about the negatives. Still think they're the best looking lids out there. Appreciate the video.
It's still a paid promotion
I know this is a year old comment but this company is smart they are pushing a lot of money into advertising and it will be very hard to find a true honest review from any of the big mototubers on here because they are all paid by the companies.
An actual honest review not from the usual bought out youtube channels. Instant subscribe.
Thank you for the review! I ALMOST went with the Atlas 2.0 but a a vlogger and long distance rider, you helped me realize it wasn't the right gear for me. Just stepped up from the Scorpion exoR710 to the Shoei RF1200.
Rf1200 best helmet ever made 🙌
Thanks for offering an actual review and not a commercial.
They were suppose to give me my money back but they sent me a new one and I’m currently in the process of sending it back
That's the reason I didn't buy from them. Any company without a customer service number isn't for me.
I have one and I will also give it a C+. The right side of the padding keeps popping out. Rather annoying. Great looking helmet
Thank you! So sick of people giving stupidly complimentary reviews where they talk about how cool it is for ages and then say it's a fantastic helmet without justifying safety or utility. I want one but refuse to buy gear that no one will be honest about, speaks badly about the product and the integrity of all involved.

You should give Atlas a go, it is super comfy :)
I've just gone down into our lab to check and the Shoei NXR has the exact same cut outs, the Fly Racing lid has multiple holes all over the comfort liner, the AGV Corsa has padding stuck down to the EPS that is non removable, the Bell Racestar Flex a $750 helmet has.... you guessed it, the required cut out area so that the legal DOT information is required.
@@brennern6794 ah awesome we actually have a snowmobile helmet launching in September so stay tuned!!
With regards to the head liner not covering all the EPS (polystyrene) it isn't legally allowed to cover it all as per the rules of the DOT FMVSS218 standard which says you need to be able to look into the helmet and visibly see permanently fixed information such as the stickers that you can see on the EPS detailing how to care / replace the helmet etc :)
Different thicknesses of the liner are available if needed and we (Ruroc) supply those free of charge!
@@tcomshere that's awesome to hear man thanks! It's great to have our snow fans following us over into the motorsports world!
I love the 1.0!! The "wind noise" a lot of people are complaining about, isn't that bad. I prefer to hear my surroundings.

But in a store you've got like a minute to decide before you become the odd guy standing around in a helmet for twenty minutes 😆
The other benefit is that if you're dealing direct with us, and you find an issue with your lid a couple of years down the line you can just come back to us and if it's a manufacturing defect thing we'll fix it straight away with no messing around getting old receipts or anything from a store.
I would say the fogging is a safety issue. But, they provide the solution in the box, so in practice, it shouldn't be an issue. Excellent review, sir.

What’s your opinion on the new 3.0?
Years later.... I'm still waiting for ruroc to send me my helmet to review... 😅 cool helmets but not a fan of how they just ghosted me Like a some tinder hoar 😅

And summarised with "Overall I love the helmet" 💪
It does look cool ... what helmet(s) do you like better?
What's your thoughts about Harley Davidson helmets, compared to Ruroc
I recieved my 2.0 el Diablo. I agree with the wind noise and air circulation inside the helmet. The vent above the shield has no shut off for the air. Looking into the helmet at a angle you can see light through the vent meaning when you ride in the rain your head will get wet including the inside of the helmet. I see no way to close the air vents other than the one on the chin guard. Also my helmet never came with the pin lock.

Great honest review. As a fellow bald man in sunny Southern California, I always wear a cheap balaclava just to put a texture barrier between my bare noggin and the helmet pads because I can’t stand the feeling of my skin on them. Plus, it lessens the need to wash the pads as often.

Yeah it's true to size 💪
Did you ever installed the pack talk on it , if so I was wondering how did you install it !?
Did you mean the shockwave? The integrated bluetooth?

I've watched a lot of moto vloggers review this helmet recently and I have to say yours is by far THE BEST AND MOST HONEST! I was thinking about purchasing this helmet and for the price this video has def made me rethink it. Def might be holding out. Besides I thought the bluetooth was included at the price not that it's an extra $150. Thanks dan!
So does the Cardo or a Sena 30K fit the helmet? Only thing I am wondering before deciding if I want to buy it.

I don't recall (maybe I missed?) him or any other reviewer commenting on the shape of this helmet in regards to aerodynamics. I’ve had several helmets with a metal pin for the shield and never had a problem. I would call it a proven system.
💪 you're right it absolutely is :)
Pinlock resolves that. If Dan had installed the Pinlock then he'd have been laughing 😁 - Pinlock is literally there to stop fogging
Nice jacket. Don't think I've seen you wear anything else besides that white and black one. Mind linking your other gear in this video in the description?
How does the sizing fit compared to shoei, what size did you get and what does your head measure? Is it true to size?
Yes. Same as Shoei
A good step in the right direction.
Sadly for the same price you can have a sun drop visor, a more comfortable and isolated helmet, and a closing mechanism that isn't just a metal pin.
So meh. They can do better.
Great review Dan It does look badass..
It really does look badass
Do an atlas 4.0 review it’s the model they should have started with night and day difference
Wouldn't it be useful to have Dual Visors? My mate has a Helme that has both a clear and Tinted Visor built-in. So in sunny weather, you have your tinted Visor and in Low Light or Night Riding, you use your Clear Visor. This would be really convenient!
Hey . Will you make 3.0 review ?
So I took a quick look at your channel trying to find how you record your voice while riding and make it so clear without wind noise and no engine noise. Can you give me a run down on your setup?
Ill wait for the 3.0 and stick to agv for now 😉
Thank you for you honest review.
Hey GenX Moto, send me a message bro.
@@merdoch Sorry for the delay, I'm kind of lost on the mobile app for RUclips. I is there a way to private message?
ONLY vent that closes is the front "nostrils" they close on the inside.
This is th eBIG drawback I see to Ruroc.... if they made it possible to close all the vents, for winter, I'd buy it without a second thought... as it is, i'll probably buy it anyway, but it's certainly an issue.
i mean 1.0 is massively bad at any other weather conditions apart from summer
the air vent closer tab is where the mouth is on the inside
When are you reviewing the shockwave?
For those who see this video by now. You can buy vent plugs to solve noise problem and gopro chin mount specially for atlas. ;)
I get this is the 2.0 and this is 2022, the 4.0 is pretty great
@DanDanTheFireman I am looking at this helmet and the bell bullitt. Of course I am looking at them because of the looks but I also care about the comfort of the ride. As a person who has rode with both helmets:
Thank you for your response and advice! I love your content and thorough review of this helmet
