  • I'm trying to mix up my vlog styles to have ideas to work with when I'm actually in Wittenberg. I have been enjoying travel vlogs where it's the POV and no music or narration... what do you think?
Sunday started with church. We had a guest preacher, the president of the Pacific Southwest District, Rev. Dr. Mike Gibson. It was a great message about how Jesus is SURELY with us all our days and reminded us of the powerful promise in God's work of the means of grace: baptism.
Then, I failed at making a German oven pancake. I usually double the recipe, but since it was just my son and me eating it, I used the regular recipe-except for the butter. I added my normal amount of butter. The German Oven pancake was delicious, but it didn't have the characteristic puff.
I took a LONG nap and ran some errands. I wanted to read a small book for a short time. I did my pre-reading and got totally distracted by a great chronology at the back of the book. I scanned it and converted it into a Review game to get better at having dates handy.
I wish I could write more letters. I think letter writing is very soothing. One of my students graduated this year and is heading to Air Force training. He won't have access to his phone for six months, so I wrote him a letter. I copied out a stanza from the Lutheran Service book Eternal Father, Strong to Save that has a nice verse about those who "dare eagle's flight." I also found some silly jokes based on his last name. I hope he enjoys it.
    So that's my quiet Sunday!
Oh, I left the audio on for my outro. I haven't said much about it, but do you know where that video was filmed? Do you recognize the location? I'll give a hint: England :)
