Kyckling (Chicken) polka on Wakker Hayden concertina - HD

- I heard this tune by Jan-Anders here on RUclips, and decided to learn it myself. My version doesn't have the solid feel and fluidity of his, but it's fun to play! I recorded it at the home of Charlie and Charmaine in Seattle, members of the Tallboys and Squirrel Butter. Charlie came up with a great fretless banjo part on the spot, and Charmaine was chicken wrangler.

Hear them all around Seattle, and especially at the Tractor Tavern Square Dance!

Gotta love the Frodo/Lenin duet.

Now that I see it I can't unsee it
I would contest to more a Lenin/Bob Dylan
That was so cool, sounds like fun. loved the flying chicken.
Keep coming back and watching this. So good!
Outstanding!!
that's me tossing chickens from screen right!!
Say, looks like you guys are about to go on an incredible adventure, involving a precious ring, orks, and possibly a guy named golum...
Pure gold, keep up the good work!
I like the rounder sound it gives, and it lets you do swoopy slides and other nice effects.
You two guys are great together. This is such a neat little tune and the setting, outside with the chickens really adds to it. Keep it up and bring us some more old time tunes!
I always come back to this happy little tune
Very nice !!!
I like the song, the instruments chosen and the rendition of the song. :))
The background is sooooo appropriate. :))
Thank you for sharing :))
I like your sweater and hat
Simply Fabulous - I loved it. Regards from North Wales, UK. I love the serious expressions, when trying (successfully) to make the concertina sound like a real chicken. Give us more...

Semi-fretless banjo was great.

Great back drop. I'll have to learn this tune! Thanks lads!
I love this tune! I am already a fan of Jan Anders and understand he wrote this. I've heard his wonderful version on the button accordion, but there is something about the concertina, and the way you play it, that really showcases this sweet little tune. You guys are getting e addicted to these instruments & wanting to play them myself!
It seems like the concertina guy was having a good time. lol, perfect sound
Muito bom
@thrillscience bouncing is a good way to keep time... When I play my bodhran, I do all sorts of strange movments, stomp, bounce, waver my head... that's what some people do when they really get a good groove going.
that was great guys loved it!!!
Charlie and Jeff - Wonderful fun, thank you for posting it. I play English concertina and might learn to do it as well, I have banjo frailing friends and play banjo myself as well as guitar. Bruce Thomson in New Zealand.
Ha ha Ha! Five stars and one extra for the chickens! Really enjoy this, thanks a lot!

The Banjo still has a few frets on it
Hello Jeff.
This is great song and great playing. I also want play that one! PLEASE write the notes for that amazing tune.
haha!! 0:47!! didnt miss a beat!!
I wish I could double-like this...wait, I have two accounts!
How many keys does this concertina have, also is this a duet concertina?
Always wanted to learn concertina. Is it difficult?
Nice banjo. How do you like having that fretless portion? I've seen you elsewhere playing one with frets all the way up...so how does it compare? (I have, and play, fretless banjos...but no half fretless ones).
I love how you both follow the flapping bird but are unfased.
polka :)
Cool!!!! :-) I hope no chicken was hurt :-))))
Somehow the two instruments don't harmonize with each other very well, in my ears. Strange, I can't even tell if they are tuned equally or not.
sounds that make your ears bleed are the point of bluegrass
IT IS A HAPPY INSTRUMENT-NO WONDER WHY ALL COUNTRIES LOW IT,AND DEVELOPED IT....
