As usual, Justin gives us a clear tutorial showcasing yet another extremely useful Blender add-on. I especially enjoyed the real-world event at 8:33. Fan noise ramps up followed by "I probably want to jump out of render mode so my computer doesn't explode." I was thinking the same thing!
I tried the free version, liked it, immediately bought the pro version since it's highly affordable even for the lowest of budget productions. I don't think I would have understood it at all without this video! Thanks.
This is potentioally the best free auto terrainer at the moment. But what is the best tools in general free/or not for terrain generation in blender? Thanks for the amazing video / breakdown !
I tried out the first version but if I expanded the terrain to a reasonable size to do a flyover it slowed the computer down to about one frame per second.
Blender is bad at rendering a lot of geometry, and rendering a lot of objects. For big scenes you have to do special things to optimize it, or you have to export it to a game engine, because game engines render much faster than Blender.
watch the vid - open blender , make a plane , object mode select the plane , then go to "file ( top left of screen) and press append from the drop down menu , go to the file you downloaded, click it , it will open up more folders then go to the node tree file - and append the files you need. Then open up a node modifier and add it to that.
How do you export a mesh with an auto terrainer texture? I'm trying all the usual methods to export it, but all I end up with is a white mesh. I'm also having trouble baking it into textures for individual objects (all I get is a black image texture). Is there a special procedure for the auto terrainer nodes?
How do I export the textures with the mesh for Unreal, when i export with the copy turned on when exporting it doesnt have the textures on it when i put it inside unreal but i only have the mesh
hey, can someone help please.. I have a Ryzen 9 7950x3d , 4080 super, 64gb 6400hz ram, and this is crashing on me and is very laggy to work with in the viewport. and this thing would help me so much on a project but it doesn't work properly for me
Don't waste your time with this plugin/addon. I have a Zbook 9 Workstation with dedicated Nvidia GPU and this addon sucks the ram out of my 64 GB machine and the renders take so long I haven't even got to see one render out the opening scene because I don't want to waste many minutes to see even a test render of the opening scene. I even set the cycles render engine to very low light passes and samples and it still takes a veeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyy long time to render. That's ashame because it looked cool and the nodes are set up nicely. Not sure why no one is saying anything about this, just goes to show how many people actually try to use these addons in real work.
Hi everyone! Let me know what you think about the Auto Terrainer in the comments below! :)

does it work? and what version of blender are you using . Isnt working properly on 4.2
Good job.
Super cool!

So nice , thanks .
great breakdown of it. Many thanks. Have you played around with the paid versions at all?
Great tool!
Great video as always 👍
Cool! It would be nice to see how to a.) integrate Alpha Trees and b.) change the various ground textures to other textures.
after i added the geometrynodes and add terrain_base my meshes just went invisible any fix ? or do i smth wrong haha
good video, thanks
it gets too heavy to render you got any ways to get the object count down when i scatter

any tips how would I do a chunk split terrain with this? this looks so good, witchcraft!
when I apply the grass scattering modifier, the grass disappears. how do I make the scattered grass part of the mesh?
i got the paid for version and the scatterer isnt working , no grass pops up , also cant append the grass .
Hey so, when I try to load in the geonodes I dont seem to find them anywhere when I append them. Any thoughts?
i downloaded the free version but dont know how to add it to blender
Same lol

This is cool and all, but I want to use my own textures. Not sure if that's possible or not.
❤❤❤ perfecional

Have you found the way?, i cannot get it working right in game engine, i even contacted creator of this addon, but no response :(
how would i export the texture so it can be used in unity
How do I export the textures with the mesh for Unreal, when i export with the copy turned on when exporting it doesnt have the textures on it when i put it inside unreal but i only have the mesh
I wonder the same, I want to bake the texture map too, have you find a way doing that?
Does anyone have a guide on how to transfer the resulting landscape to the unreal engine?
