  • Cool Props announced their intention to make buyable Thomas replicas in 2018. 5 years later, it released, but the hype isn't what it used to be. This video explains why.

Bruh this fandom has become so dedicated that we practically made a whole potential range kinda useless

  • @MatecaCorp

The seam gaps and inaccurate paint completely ruin the Coolprops items. For that price you should be getting something at least on par with the models fans are creating.

  • @TrevortheTrainFan

These are cool (no pun intended), but I’m NOT going to promise to get any of these replicas because they’re VERY expensive and hard to get for me. That’s why I’d rather buy something cheaper like an old Trackmaster model or a Bachmann model.

GTA 6 before CoolProps Bill and Ben?

  • @UsefulEngine11

This was an interesting video. As much as I would love a full set with Thomas, Annie, Clarabel there's no way I'm paying that much for it so it's most likely I'll get just Thomas when I scrounge up more money and hopefully I can get one before this decade ends. The reason why I prefer to get one is because I just don't have that level of talent. I can make great customs but I can't make something to this scale so buying one is my only option. Anyway keep up the good work Tidmouth.

750 dollars make seem like a lot but it makes sense considering how expensive it is to manufacture and when you buy it your supporting great replica makers

  • @tameemalganis3632

People could be confused when they see a Thomas episode that was made by them and the don't know about the props 😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤

  • @TheWoodenWilbert

I think that the price is more substantial of an issue than it seems. Like, $750 for a non-motorized, no eye-mech, no smoke replica just seems really unreasonable (especially considering the inaccuracies you mentioned as well!)

  • @toomuchtoby1

It's a decent model, but the price is way too much. MAYBE if it actually ran on its own I'd say it's good but for $750 there are too many issues.

  • @StoneTankEngine

The Coolprops set is really flawed and ofc while adding all the mechanics would be more pricey, externally it looks great! I’d love more characters in the range but they’d take ages to get to many of em it seems which is where i see the advantage the fandom has.

  • @The_Iron_Cowboy

I have one myself. Personally I do say it was worth the wait but not quite the price. I feel like the price should have been a little lower. That being said, I’m glad I have it anyway. It’s a nice novelty and when you’re not looking at it from six inches away, it looks like the real thing. The seam lines are actually not that noticeable on mine. I suspect it must be a lack of a consistent quality control. It does sit on a shelf in my train room and I love looking at it as Thomas was and still is a huge part of my life

  • @TonsOfTrackmasters

    interesting and informative vid!

  • @davidaviles1754

    I thought about getting cool

  • @MarcusWhitelam

What would interest me would be if someone made a gauge 1 CGI thomas...

I bought the Thomas w/Annie and Clarabel. To me, its THE biggest thing I've always wanted since I was a kid. For someone who grew up with Thomas since 1989, it was something I wanted. I had to save for it, but I am glad to have it.

This is definitely something to put on my bucket list.

  • @Thomasandthetankrailway1993

Glad to see a whole video explaining this.

For 800 dollars you could get 2 really good broadway limited locomotives without the seam lines. With more detail, operation, and smoke.

  • @Woodenfan1

You should make me a cool props duck…
