I'm 1000% sure. Go play some Bf1 .. the difference in "sweat" is insane.
Bf1 lobbies are sooo much more chill/casual. Just normal, mixed skill lobbies. 2042 is not like that.
I just saw that too. I guess you were so disappointed wit frontlines you blocked it out of your mind lol.
And unfortunately they added matchmaking to the frontlines game mode. So, the opportunity to play with more than 3 of your friends is over😢
@@jortepap I've been playing bf since bad company 2 originally came out and 2042 is the first time I've questioned whether bf now has some type of heavier sbmm, especially in certain smaller modes
Frontlines timer should be 20 minutes. It is very exhausting to play this ping-pong type of game for the entire 40 minutes.
It could be worse. Before they added a timer in Battlefield 1, I played a match of Frontlines for TWO Hours! The game would keep going back and forth until one team managed to blow up both MCOMMS.

I just wanna know why they haven't added ALL the Portal content to AOW yet. There really is no point in keeping it exclusive now, the game is done. I just want the Portal maps in official Breakthrough, and the rest of the guns added too. I haven't been able to use the M98B sniper for a very long time.
Just four earnable cosmetics, but THREE paid bundles...🤦♂️🤦♀️

Every map is fun on Crimson front besides discarded feels like those take forever because of how dug in the final mcom push

It does sounds like chaos. I used Blasco and a tugs in frontlines to unlock all the free cosmetics and I finished last weekly mission in a day an half

I have been trying to win the two rounds to get bonus weekly mission, but I have given up on it, I just don't have the time.

I was on the losing side 12 time in a row. I joined 8 of those spawn trapped. Then I was on the winning side twice in a row. Go figure. Actually wins mean little in BF2042.
i know a lot about programming and i am even more at a loss for why the player card would be tied to a tile in the UI.
I've only had a handful of decent rounds on this where the teams feel somewhat balanced out, and there's some genuinely good fighting. That being said, I've also had a lot of rounds where my team is utterly trounced (only a few in the opposite direction). There is a weird thing where my teams (and any bots on it) won't advance past the sector lines. Whenever an objective is counting down or up for capture, they pause at the line between it and the last one. Time and time again, almost my entire team just comes to a halt, or won't go into the flag area. In my last round on Discarded they refused to move at all into the ship, leading us to be pushed all the one back to our final flag, before we finally pushed back to the ship and then finally pushed beyond it and won with 3 minutes left.
But about 60% of the time I found myself alone on those flags having to hold people and bots off. This huge discrepancy between one team seemingly unaware of what they're doing, while the other team (complete with single digit rank players) is just steamrolling and working together like a clan, happens too often. Throw in a good number of obvious cheaters (feels like there has been a drastic increase since the game was announced as effectively cancelled) and it makes the experience an utter drag.
Front lines only work when both sides PTFO. If you camp, it's over. My main complaint.....how come no one...I mean no one at fake Dice, knows how to make a mode that flows. Their next game better be free because I not spending a half cent on it. They already stole enough money from me. 🤗

We can also use EMP rounds in the stealth heli gunner seat to disrupt vehicles for the weekly missions.
I really enjoy this mode. They added Flashpoint to Frontlines but removed map rotation xD
I did finish frontlinie, but it took me an entire day of playing to unlock it all.
To be honest, 45 minutes to get a draw or lose over and over again made me not enjoy this event mode.
Normally, I can not play this much, I do have a full-time job.
But I was sick at home.

Redacted (linear or non linear it means close combat) after Noshahr Canals is probably the best map.
I've just pretty much moved on from BF2042. I liked what we had while we had it but it lost my interest about 2 months ago. I've come back to it a few times but I'm on The Finals if I play an FPS. Hoping the next BF catches my interest and has a good launch.
Started playing the Finals more as well. And hoping they will fix and release XDefiant soon. 🤞😄

I agree about the cosmetic content, i unlocked it halfway through last week. However im actually enjoying frontines. Its not the same as bf5 or 1 and i do feel like a 30 minute timer would be better but i havent had a single draw yet since you get points for each MCOM destroyed plus which team pushed the other further if it does time out. I think it would be great if they reduced the timer, added it to more maps and tweaked the out of bounds areas and then made it an alternative gamemode in breakthrough

The unlockables can be obtained by playing other modes I believe. It's not that restrictive. Also the content drop was the same as other mid season events. Why complain now when it was fine before?
New game mode, definitely needs more work. Of all the matches I've played, only once has a side won where they initially lost the first centre location. It's terribly predictable.
Agree, 45mins is too long as well. Needs to be 30mins with quicker flag caps for more furious back and forth interplay in sectors.

Since the only way to get off the mini map is with a heavy suppressor now instead of the light/subsonic combos of old. We need more heavy suppressor for the old guns. Avancys is no longer a stealth weapon like it used to be with wrapped and subsonic
Unfortunately the AI does not seem to spot enemies, so the inflitration device mission is not doable in portal mode with AI.
Emp granades doesn't count. You have to hack vehicle as Rao for the 6th mission "Enemy Vehicle Disruptied"
You can use Rao's hacking for disruptions on the weekly missions. Thank you for the video!
I think all modes should be available for play with full XP and community could play the favourite modes. Like 1942 rendevous, BC2 Protect VIP, etc.. Control is one of my favorite and i can only play it one time per month😢
I'll probably check the update next week. I womdee how those stealth bonber will work.
what about the revamped old break away area map?
Friday Night BF doesn't launch for weeks now for me.. any ideas how to fix that? Tried repair and reinstall the game but it won't help so far..
I got lucky and won two rounds of front line back to back yesterday. So I was able to get the 10 points for battle pass.
Also for those who just want to get the cosmetics by doing the ribbons just quit after you complete about 6 or so. If you play support use the EMP grenade it helps get the job done faster.
The only positive I’ll give frontlines is that I grind for kills to get closer to tier one, but it is has very balanced to go back and forth, most games I curbed stomped, but the timer is way too long
Wow, I've breeze past the weekly missions and ribbon requirements for Frontlines. For some reason, the rounds I played were almost always extremely unbalanced.
I always ended up in draws. 😂
@TheCadWoman Interesting, Once or twice I had a match ended in draw. I would never imagine that regional differences could be this noticeable. Maybe it's because I'm playing with a smaller pool of people.
I’m starting to get really bored with 2042. This season has been so lackluster that it’s not even fun to play anymore. Once I complete the Battlepass I think I’m done with 2042 for a while.
I haven't played since the announcement about this being the last season. I just haven't felt like there's a point in playing anymore. It's weird because I never felt like it with BF1 and V, I kept playing long after. I might play again if there is some sort of content drop at the end. Who knows.
Did you feel like 2042 was a chore? So you only played because you paid for it or had the battle pass?
@TheCadWoman It never felt like a chore. Maybe before season 1 started, but once it did, I had way more fun. I looked forward to the map reworks, and I did the easter eggs for the first time in a BF game because I actually really liked the world building they were doing. Maybe it's because in comparison to BF 1's road to BFV challenges and V's summer update with Provence, it seems 2042 isn't getting that much of a sort of "send-off" with the content that's coming.

My team won the first match I played, and sadly it didn't count for the 2 wins. It took nearly a week of playing to win the 2 matches. I agree with the length of time being too long
That was the same for me. 😂 First match won, but the mission wasn’t unlocked. Then an endless row of draws.
Without a server browser for All Out Warfare, I can’t even play Crimson Front because I never find a match there. Very frustrating that it’s all location locked.
Not enough player base in your country? Tough luck - you’ll have to go to portal and play some 2000% damage XP farm.

Frontlines is the most I've enjoyed this game for a long time. Even though almost every match is one sided I get a good round win or lose....actually despised Haven till it came her and now it's fun, unlike feeling like tdm in other modes

yeah, BF1 had it down best for frontlines. I remember marathon games, like 2.5 hours of nail biting fun.

Hi Cadwoman, advice here please..when I play bf 2042 there is no red dot or red markers on the heads of my enemy's, all the maps this is the issue that I have all the years I play it....why is it so?...but when I watch 2042 you tube video's also yours I can see the red markers on the heads of your enemy's heads but not by me, close, mediam far and further away....is their a setting that I have to do to add it or what......have a look for me please....so difficult to see them..
The red dot only shows up when you spot them with Q on PC or RB/R1 on consoles.
I am genuinely surprised and disappointed at how the new map Haven has turned out. I really enjoyed it with vehicles, but they quickly switched it to infantry only and I just lost interest after that. Then came the EOL announcement. :(
Playing the entire game is a slog, but it is pretty epic to be down to defending 1 MCOM and push them all the way back for the W. I don't think it would really be possible if the game time was significantly shorter. Are a few epic comebacks worth the monotony? Probably not
3:20 DICE wasting their time developing an NV scope when they have no intentions of adding a true night map(manifest doesn't count). mw2019 did night warfare pretty well with insurgency sandstorm being better IMO, maybe learn from them or maybe not. they could give the community NVG, NV scope, IR flashlight, IR laser, and the ability to change the day night cycle on the maps of their choosing in portal. community would probably have a field day.

I just play the event until I got the 2 wins for the weekly mission. Luckily I got it after 5 match. Then I never touch it again.
Yeah. The easy way to do it is to make sure you deploy on a team that's almost won. You'll only have to do it twice. It saves a lot of time and the mode deserves nothing more.
Your fortitude is amazing. I already uninstalled 2042. As I am pessimistic that the franchise can survive any more EA "management", I'm curious which game you will do next.

I may be one of the outliers here in that I find Frontlines quite engaging, and don't mind the back and forth 45 minute grind. I also don't care all that much about unlocking everything or completing every weekly mission. The gameplay is just fun, and that's saying a lot considering where we started.
I don't like it for Redacted, but the other maps are fun. I'm an infantry player, and sometimes Conquest just gets so vehicle-dominant that it's impossible to do anything. I like that you get the chance to go on the offensive in-match, instead of switching-sides like most of the other non-Conquest modes.
That’s great. There’s a lot of different opinions on the event and mode. As long as you enjoy it, it’s all good. That’s what games are made for. :)

the team always makes weird decisions look at the battlepass a lot of the cosmetics aren't even related to the update/ new map they're ghillie like when the map is in the desert meanwhile the orange/green themed stuff was put in a paid bundle

Get rid of the vehicles in frontlines. Do that, and they won’t last 40 mins.
Putting in vehicles at the end to help the loosing team is so modern day ideoligy "wE hAvE to MaKe iT faIR" no! So tired of seeing this in modern gaming, they are loosing and its ok! We all loose sometimes.
All the balancing is new age participation trophies. Vehicles should be OP. They are freaking vehicles. These folks would never have survived bf2 or battle toads on Sega genesis for that matter

But I think the time has come to stop giving dice/EA’s game free advertising.
Their random and untimely announcement that support for the game was ending pretty much killed the game.
Content is appalling.
They didn’t even add all of the base maps to portal.
They didn’t even add haven to portal on the last update.
There’s still a ton of things unfinished or unfixed.
Everyone I play this game with have moved on.
We can’t even be bothered to work on the 100 tiers of the season or unlock event items.
We just can’t be bothered.
I’m not speaking as a random player.
I’ve played this from release and have spent the last 2 yrs coding and creating many experiences with the rules editor.
I still run them for the portal community.
The portal community were truly shafted.
Portal support dropped like an anvil over a year ago.
The way dice has handled things has been inexcusable.
They don’t fix things, they gave us a bare bones game and struggled to add content.
They even admitted themselves that they couldn’t make large maps work.
None of the previous devs had that issue!
I’m waiting for another shooter to play.
People need to vote with their wallets.
Devs and publishers cannot be allowed to carry on like this.

Not sure why you think that there are maybe 3 people still working on keeping this game alive. My guess would be one. Any most likely not full time.
Regarding 'progress not tracking because another mode is active with a dedicated tile in the menu' I call BS on that one (I am working as SW engineer for well over 20 years now -- currently as proxy for one of our tech leads). That sad excuse is definitely some cop out. I am 100% certain that this would be possible if they wanted and were willing to invest the time of some programmer to implement that. Not sure why they decided not to (maybe they just don't deem that important enough to invest any time in that). But then, well, if there is one guy working just part time, then this might be really out of scope to fix that...
They are not going to add more content so the less you unlock the longer it last
I'm sorry you aren't enjoying frontlines. I recognize it's issue but I'm having the most fun I've had on 2042. I hope it becomes a permanent game mode with more maps.
Hey Cad, start playing Portal servers you will find it much better gamplay there, Bf2042 isnt dead there we play Portal servers ( BADBOYS server ) over 3000 hours and find this game much more playable.
Personally I love Frontline, the diversity of the maps brings different tactics. Unlike you, I like longer games, we feel more involved and we play more as a team to win the game. EA is a bit stupid to abandon BF2042, why not release a "FrontLine" DLC with 16 new maps dedicated to this mode for $20 or $30? I preferred to pay for the DLC as for the old Battlefields, we then had a lot more variety and more maps to play.
Yep. FNB was so confusing. There is so much incompetence associated with BF2042.

If they cant make the next title on par with or better than BF3/4/1 then I'm done giving this company my money. If we don't start speaking with our wallets, no real change will ever happen.
bought the battlepass with leftover currency from the last pass thinking it would motivate me to play the game but it just feels like a chore because i’m not having fun, getting kills in this game feel so unrewarding and the gameplay just feels so bland compared to bf4. i’m okay with stepping away because cosmetics just don’t work on me like they think they do. it’s not content.
Gaming should never feel like a chore. :(
It's not a great mode. The maps are poor choices for it. The back-and-forth mechanism isn't good. The vehicle allocation is bizarre, to say the least.
I just want the zombie map back
anything EA does when it's pertaining to battlefield has no logic, like where are the additions of portal guns to regular play and why don't we have more camos for the new weapons and vehicles
The reason they have put all those game modes is to force people to play frontlines!!!!! 😂😂
