Thank you for this helpful video and your encouraging words! I absolutely struggle with using my time productive and I get so easily distracted. I'm going to try the Pomodoro method right now! I just started my fulltime-freelance career as an illustrator and working from home with all the distractions is a challenge.
I've not done the pomodoro technique, but it sounds like a good one! If I need to focus, I tend to put my phone on silent and just put some music on (usually something without singing such as lofi-beats, classical or some good synthwave depending on the mood as I can get distracted searching for other songs that the current one has reminded me of!)
This is a real goodie! You helped me getting off my "either, or" thinking into an "as well as" thinking. So I'm happy to say, that I will take on the book project AND get on with my personal projects. I'll challenge myself to finish the book in 4 months instead of 5,5 and use up the additional time for personal projects :)
POMODORO is great, its the only way i manage to get something/anything done .. i also keep in mind the "myself of the future" when im doing something thats important but boring/hard , i think about myself from the future and how amazing she will feel that the hard part was done .. does it make sense right ? i think :D
@@TheIllustratorsGuide it arrived today… will start reading tomorrow. Question: Do you still do the portfolio reviews? I am aiming to have my initial portfolio ready for end of December. Would love to book a time with you if still possible
I've been committing the planning fallacy my entire life.
Great advice.
You have a lovely speaking voice and calm pitch.
You should upload your videos to your podcast! I haven’t seen you there lately but also happy that you’re active here!
That's a good idea!
This is probably my favorite channel on RUclips. I really enjoy it. Thank you so much
Wow, thank you!

These are really good tips, even for other activities/work than illustration. Love this video and your channel!
Thank you! I appreciate it
