Heeeeeeeeeeeeeee's baaaaaaaaaaaaack!!! So good to see (and hear) Greg back at Norm's...he brings great energy and bass knowledge with him every time! Thanks Greg!!!
I had a Gibson Rd artist lead guitar. Amazing instrument. Took it Hollywood. My friends in the studio loved playing it. Country went into recession. I sold it to someone for $600 so I could keep my horses fed. Missed that guitar fast action. Great guitar you could tell even not being there when someone fired it up.
i know this bass cause of krist novoselic from nirvana, he used this bass all over nevermind and in utero, love the sound of this bass over any other bass... super phat and very bright aswell..
@gregcoates4281 the owner of a shop I worked for when I was a teenager, used to tell people, "Just keep changing switch positions until you find a sound you like" LOL
It’s a choice, I suppose. For those of us P and J players, it all seems so unnecessary and even distracting from the music. May be why they are so uncommon and no longer made. Welcome back, Greg. The only reason I watched the whole episode. LOL.
Think the Moog museum may have been flooded recently. I hope not though as it’s located in Asheville. I will be heading up there in two weeks to visit my daughter.
I don't know if anyone from the shop watches these vids and reads the comments but in these times of ID theft you really should obliterate the driver's license number and social security number. I know this was popular back in the day to have those numbers on anything for identity purposes but today - it's not good at all.
Krist didn’t use an RD on the VMA’s. That was a Ripper bass. Krist famously used an RD. But it did not appear at the VMA’s, and was not involved in that incident.

Hey man, respect for keeping the horses fed, that's more important
Part of the late ‘70’s prog & fusion bass guitar explosion. The RD guitar is more New Wave/Power Pop.
Rob Dean used one in Japan with a Space Echo and eBow into a Jazz Chorus amp
Awww. Lemmo is so humble. Glad Jen is there to talk him up. What a great baby mama she is.
One of the best designs Gibson came up with, both guitar and bass iterations.
My favourite Thumpin Thursday player. Good to see ya back.
Thanks so much!!!
Greg is so much FUN - and technical!
Ralphe Armstrong on Jean Luc Ponty Live... the greatest RD Bass performance ever
Armstrong is a slept on bass player, his tone is insane, love me some JLP as well.
I bought a 79 rickenbacker, and 78 jazz bass, and the last bass on my list is a 70s RD bass. They’re the coolest Gibson bass imo
I still have the Gibson RD Artist guitar . Plays great.
I was lusting after that 52' Tele from last week or so. Fortunately it was already sold and unfortunately I couldn't have afforded it anyway.
Great to see and hear you again Greg. Hello from Kalamazoo.
Yes yes yessss! Missed Coates! Lets go!!
Great job Coats, you make music with that. All good
Greg the Hammer! Great haircut Greg
Always good to see Greg 👍 < (slap thumb)

Bob Moog designed the active circuit and board layout.

This Permanent Record Logo look suspiciously similar to Hawkwind's
@9:41 These aren't mahogany, they're maple.
I realized that after the fact, explains the brightness and the weight…
Fantastic )))))))))))
Wow, that sold fast! Anybody know what it went for?
That's an upgraded bridge!!

Moog rhymes with "rogue." Bob Moog would want his name pronounced the right way.
@@Mistershredd got that,thank you!
It's pronounced 'Moge' not Moog.
Meant to say that… I should know better, having worked alongside a keyboard tech for over a decade 🤦🏼
@@gregcoates4281 All good.
