I need to find a Ginko tree...quickly, before I forget what I'm looking for and why.
Success story: Allergy season is coming fast. A year ago I stopped taking prescription medication (I learned on long-term usage some were connected to Alzheimer?!). So I got some stinging nettles, dried them and prepared a tincture with medicinal alcohol (38% Vodka 🙂), included some freshly ground black pepper and 6 weeks later I had my own anti-allergy medicine. A teaspoon before lawn mowing and I am fine. The hardcore test was last summer when I went to Wisconsin. I am highly allergic to some stupid mosquito found in that area. One sting and swelling starts immediately. My arm would get to double size in no time, unless I would take my allergy medication. This time I brought it with me (just in case), but used instead 3x a day my nettle-black pepper tincture (just a teaspoon) and -drumroll- nothing. I got bitten multiple times. But the stings were small red dots gone after a couple of days, with hardly any itching. I am no doctor so standard disclaimer: use at own risk. For me it worked beautifully. I just applied what I learned here on this channel.
So thank you Dr. Jones!!! 😊👍
That’s awesome. I was wondering why you combine black pepper with the stinging nettle?
Awesome!
Have been taking gingko for years. Haven’t seen any brain function improvement BUT it has helped tremendously in reducing leg cramps which had become horrible. The gingko was a life saver for stopping the leg cramps.
horse chestnut ( I havent had it in a while for leg cramps , but also try some inexpensive walmart macca beet powder for the brain and stamina)
I use it in capsules instead of a blood thinner. I love how you described the flow as like traffic 😊
Homegrown Herbalist School student here...loving your humor Doc!!
Always love the humor too 😂
It's important to be cautious when taking Ginkgo Biloba, in my own experience it decreased blood pressure too much and caused me to nearly black out, and get dizzy often.
@@nubstermcnubs1406 Its a strong vasodilator. Folks who are on blood pressure meds or who are prone to low blood pressure should be careful. Also, rarely, some folks can be more responsive than others to a particular plant (or drug, or food…). Its a good idea generally to start an herb at a low dose and see how the body responds.
Love how you ‘splain things! Thanks for the time you take to share these videos!
Tried several times to give a THUMBS UP, but there was no icon to do so...! Thanks, Dr. P for your teaching and humor--always delightful AND understandable.🤗🤗❣❣❣

It is so good to see you here today, This never came up on my news feed at all I went back and looked for it and it is not there. I'm so glad I found this here today.
I REALLY need Gingko !!! Being a student of the Homegrown Herbilist there is sooooo much great knowledge to learn I need all the help I can get! 😂😀❤
I started using Ginko a few months ago because I read that it helps with Tinnitus. I think it's helped a little bit. I need to go back and re-read the study and make sure I'm using it according to the study.
Oh wow please share what you know about tinnitus and ginkgo , I have had the ringing in my ears fo ver two years and sometimes it’s maddeningly loud 😢😢😢 trying different things but nothing works and doctors do nothing 😢
@@lesliea.m.5392 A journalist said Barb O’ Neill… suggested that others have used warm onion juice as you would for an earache. This j said it took away her tinnitus and improved her hearing, as well.
What a great video Doc Jones., I'm a student of a couple of months and highly recommend the Lifetime learning class. Lifetime learning Cant beat it. Doc, I need to schedule a phone consult for my sister who has alot of issues above my paygrade, in particular allergic to many things, but I have faith you can guide her in the right herbal direction. I have the herbs, but not familiar with these allergic reactions yet. Do I email You or Evan and if so, what email is best. Thanks again Doc, I truly Love the classes. Blessings
Wow! I have an enourmous ginkgo tree in my backyard! It is a female one so it drops the fruit with nut in it. So I want to know using it as a tea? You said harvest when yellow, I didn’t know that and did it when it’s green. These trees go yellow fast and then drop the leaves, it’s beautiful!
Yes! I used to take it green until I learnt that. What I do now is watch closely for changes in the autumn and put a tarp, or sheet down under neath it. As soon as one leaf falls, I shake the tree and get every single one. It's not a huge tree though.
🙋🏻♀️I pick Ginko from the trees I find, harvest, store, daily tea, tincture and love it❣️Thank you for your channel!
Where are these trees? What state or country. I just don't trust what you buy in the store.
Going to restart my ginkgo!
30-35 years ago we joked about taking ginkgo biloba for memory as we were getting ‘old’. 😂I’m 71 now and just started taking it to hopefully make those senior moments less scary. Also need to improve circulation in my legs. Suppose it’ll take awhile to kick in just like turmeric does.
Thank you for more informative videos. Very appreciative.
Oh thank God! I need all the help I can get!
I have a ginkgo joke too... It's a true story. My mother lived with me, she was over 80 yo. I gave her some ginkgo. I was gone for a few days. After I returned, I asked her how she was feeling. She said she had not slept well for several nights. She said, no idea why but I've been up all night just thinking, thinking, it's very strange. I laughed and asked her ifl she had been taking the ginkgo at night? She had. It works.
I was thinking about signing up for school but decided it would be a waste of money as I can’t remember anything. I bought ginkgo … I wish I remembered to take it…
Every Enrollment is Lifetime Access! So, if you forget anything you'll always be able to go back for refreshers :)
😂 I totally feel you since pre menopause... so I set alarms for everything ❤😊

Ginko has been a game changer for my inner ear vertigo. I no longer have motion sickness!
Glad it helped. Depending on the cause, Ginkgo can often really help inner ear vertigo.
@@HomeGrownHerbalist is it better in capsule form or tincture or glycerine
Also can we take this like an hour or so after medication
@@annamulett3376 don’t use Ginkgo if you’re on medications without consulting with your doctor. It acts badly with some.
😂love the grocery store comment!
Your such a legend ❤🙏Thank you for your incredible knowledge 😊

I highly recommend it! It's GREAT!

Thanks for doing this doc , I love ginko and use it on my food and for my friends dementia ….
I need to start taking some
Thanks Doc
Thanks for the video, Doc. Awesome as usual!
Hello. Just found your Channel. Thank you! Can you help my daughter. She has had migraines for years. She is 45 now. I know it could be do to several things. Would you have a starting point with herbs?
Is there a reason we can't take this while nursing. I've needed something for brain clarity due to post partum, I just received my Ginkgo and had a cup of tea..... and I am nursing... is it because of lack of studies?
Thanks for the video Doc. TeresaSue
Hi Dr Jones, I have a question I have been using ginkgo biloba for neuropathy in my feet and I was wondering if comfrey salve would help to regrow the nerves in my feet
I've heard a lotion with cayenne can help with that.
I’ve heard that castor oil with cayenne placed on the neuropathy over night eventually wakes up the nerves!
Thanks Doc 😎👍
How much can I take?
Can I eat it in salad?
Love you and your videos! I would love to enroll but i have NO focus or attention span since Mean-o-claws!
I have had the blood test for dementia and i have all the markers at the highest level (following grandmother and mom).
So - this has me searching for something that might help delay a diagnosis??
I don't have space for a ginko tree where I live. Do you have a trustworthy source or 2 for fresh or did ginko that you would recommend?
Dr.,do you recommend capsules as well? If so, a particular brand? Thank you!
I'd buy from his site
Tinnitus and increase testosterone for males. Also if taken during supper so sleepy sometimes have to fight to finish meal, so perhaps taken before finishing meal and especially sleepiness in men so I always recommend taken just before bedtime. Yep contradicts earlier statement, but perhaps not that night.😊
Would it be helpful for brain damage that happened a long time ago? I am 62 and struggle with long term as well as short term memory. Had brain injury in 1982. I think I would tinkture it
Look up Rosalee de la foret on you tube, with a herbalist on SELF HEAL.She used it for brain issues and brain damage.Hope this helps.
I tried to take Gingko several years ago, but it didn't work...I kept forgetting to take it.
Thanks for all the good videos
We love them
Please make a video on
Seborrheic dermatitis
I am 57 years old woman and I have developed tons of it’s scales on my scalp. Those scales starts in yellowish white colour and then turn to brown and then black. My new hair growth clumps in those scales and never gets off unless one day that large chunk of scale falls off on its own and take all those hair with it too 😭
When I see those long clump of hair along new growth falling off my head, I feel so upset .
Please help me. I am in Ontario.
Dr says it is also called cradle scalp sort of name.
Please help me.
Thanks
My brother died from mini stokes. Runs in our family. My mom too.
I'd bought some ginko but I couldn't remember why so its been sitting on the counter. I wish I'd known about it back when I had my worst concussion. I'm struggling a lot. Lack of sleep is not helping, I'm sure. I have a lot of palpitations from out of wack thyroid levels (can't convince any doctors to see me). I wonder if ginko is safe?????
❤ thank you 🙏
Amazing, thank you so much!!!! God bless Dr Patrick Jones, you are the God’s gift, I cured my husband’s acid reflect thanks to your videos, unfortunately he has now been diagnosed with early stage of cancer, but I am sure we will get through it
LOL, you crack me up!
Could you please tell us how much should be used daily?;
I need your help identifying a plant
It resembles mint but wider, when I tear the leaf it smells like basil and mint (I just want to bury my nose in it, it smells so good), it has fuzzy stem. When I did picture this it said scarlet sage but there's no mention of the way it smells
So if you have anxiety and are on medication for it will it help and should the doctor be asked about using it if you were on medication for it? I am guessing yes.
Always talk to your doctor before combining herbs and meds…especially mental health meds.
One place I lived had a gingko tree. Every fall, the leaves would start talking and decide what day they were all going to fall off the tree. I'd go out in the morning, the tree would be bare and the leaves were telling me how they'd made it easier for me to rake. They all stick together so you can use a snow shovel. I wish I'd been into herbs then. Downside of the tree is the stinky fruit. Yuck.
It drops its leaves overnight with a good frost.
I loved when I would wake up one morning and the street was covered in yellow leaves and when you stepped outside, the world had that silent sound like when it gets blanketed with snow.
So if you did have a stroke say 6 months ago, taking ginkgo would not reverse the damage but it would improve what you have?
What herb is best for prostate health I don’t see a video on that what would you suggest.
Iodine. Not a herb I know but natural and really effective. Two very good books to get: The Iodine Crisis By Lynne Farrow and Iodine, Why You Need it and Why You Can’t Live Without It by David Brownstein M.D. (You can find him on RUclips too).
Could you please do a video on cats ear false Dandelion
I believe ginko has male and female trees. Does it matter which are used?
Medicinally, they are the same, but the female ones produce a really smelly, stinky fruit.
Tell me this herb is good for whacksczine inrureee with out telling me its good for whacksczine injureee!
How do we know if we are taking a good brand?
Don't take it if you have epilepsy
In my opinion it’s a dangerous herb! It almost gave me a hemorrhagic stroke
Great

Does anybody know where I can get some gingko seeds to grow it? I take it in a soft gel but the company I get it from has either discontinued it or something cause I can't get it on Amazon anymore
