I actually saw the 1st ever episode while at university. (If memory serves.) It was a Friday night in early 2003. Was letting channel 4 play out and it seemed like it fit right in with the other comedies of C4 at that time. ( I distinctly remember 'cause staying in my room on a Friday was odd.) I don't usually catch 1sts /pilots like that.
I love this episode. I've been at so many parties like this and they really nailed the sordid chaos of it all, right down to the 1am Kool and the Gang.

I think the POV internal monologue aspect of this show is kinda taken for granted nowadays. But back in 2003 when Peep Show started it was pretty revolutionary for a sit-com, which maybe gets under appreciated nowadays?!
I notice now how intently they listen and focus to understand the nuances of what they say. Early on they would miss a lot of jokes and slight humour. They are really understanding the subtleties to a lot of it now.
@@neilsun2521 All too common on series reaction vids for people to say "it only gets better" when it clearly doesn't. Season 4 is peak Peep Show, but that's not to say there wasn't great stuff to come afterwards. But yeah, Dobby's hipster mates were truly obnoxious. Peep Show always had this special gift of making the dickheads on the show still massively entertaining to watch - something they couldn't do with the hipsters.
@@newtonshiggers Yep, one trip to New York and she's talking like a woke twit. (Each season after S3 seemed to have 1 less great episode. By the end I only loved about 1 per series. S1-S3 were faultless IMO, no duds.)
*Liam Gallagher found out about your brutal child maintenance laws back in 2014 -- when he got some woman pregnant accidentally while touring over there. There's video of him on YT leaving the court in New York after the judgment. He did not look happy!

She added realism to me cos she was in it when the flat was filmed in the actual real flat! (Not the mock-up from S3-S9.)
It still only gets better as it goes on. Series 9, the last, is my favourite.

I thought series 9 was pretty solid after a dip in 8. But it's definitely nothing on 3 to 6.
