Thanks so much for showing me how to take apart this exact Model ... we've owned it for 5 years. It was making some squeaky noise and it turned out to be a small screw stuck by one of the drum glides. I cleaned the glides with some light weight silicone put it back together and it is running better than ever. You probably saved me from buying a new dryer for my wife. Thank YOU!

This video was a great help. My apartment has the model GTX22EASK0WW but the process is the same other than the different wiring harness at the front panel. It started making a scraping noise and upon disassembly I discovered a metal aglet by the drum lining, probably from a pants’ drawstring. The side panels were also bent and touching the drum as it rotates. Got it all fixed despite our maintenance staff telling us they couldn’t.

Since buying this exact same dryer April, 2022 the drum or dryer has made a load noise. I have made sure that is level. More than several times. Rechecking and since it is on hardwoods bought rubber stoppers to go under cleats, so as not to move when taking in and out clothing.
I had to clean out filter and below it yesterday. So I had to a semi-disassemble (not having to disconnect wiring on back just slide it where I could get top panel releasing it and sliding back out of the way ).
All was going well until the front panel. Wow, the drum even holding on to it was just not anywhere close to your video. Very loose, fell or dropped more than I would have expected.
At this point, I inspected the belt and it was in place from my vantage point. Putting back together due to this drum was not and is not the same. I have not used the dryer, yet. As I plan today to redo to see what is going on? I did lift up as you did on the drum when I went to put on the front panel. But it was just not wanting to work.
Is there any idea's of what could be going with this drum? It had worked as far as heating. But made load noise, a hard thump and get hot or hotter than my Matag that was 15 years old at the bottom.
Please, anything suggestion would help. This is my eldery parent dryer and I take care of them. I am not the Ms. Fixer also!

I have the gas version, but all the buttons are the same. You don't have to remove all these wires... just take the top off and have it hang off the back... You can take the entire top of still and access everything. Also FYI if anyone is dealing with the gas version... they might include an orifice for you to install for LP gas, but... you probably don't even need it. You literally open up the top & front covers of the dryer, don't even remove the drum, the regulator is right in front of you! Unplug 2 wire harnesses briefly and take a wrench and just turn it to LP, that's it! I got all confused with all these vids overcomplicating everything.

Reassembled the dryer and everything worked perfectly for two loads of clothes then the dryer quit heating again. I haven’t taken the dryer apart to see if the wire is burnt into again but the odds are, it is. What would cause this wire to continue to fail? Can it be replaced with a heavier wire or would this create a fire hazard? Thanks

First I would like to say this appliance is probably an example of the worst engineering possible. No consideration for the guys that do the repairs. Second good video but you get a failing grade from me. The video for installing the belt on the motor drive and idler pulley are taken from the back of the cabinet. The ONLY way to reinstall the belt is from the front. Would help if you showed a sketch of the belt routing from the front. The auto guys figured that out with their serpentine belts.

These things are junk. 6 months old and it stops heating and you have to tear it down to bones to fix anything.
    Planned obsolescence

It’s a dumbest design I have seen so far for the dryer you have to disassemble 99 % just to get to any part inside of this stupid GE dryer. GE was always lacking for smart engineers
