Wow what a nice a genuine video. I’m also struggling and almost about to quit my photography because I feel I only take photos just to be able to post something on Instagram. So this was very inspiring and I’m very excited about The Darkroom. Good job my friend and keep up the good work. I think I started following you under Covid in 2020, and you’re one of my favorite channels. Wishing you a great weekend 🙏
Thank you Chris, yea it can be a struggle, for me it helps trying something new, it can be a different type of photographt, location or just a new gear. Or try to push myself in some way. Keep at it man!
I could totally see that if you are "having" to do it to make your living then, unless you are traveling to different locations constantly, it could get stale. One thing maybe you could do is something I've seen another RUclips do is start trying to do themes, like shoot the color red or so on.
yea that's the thing, great idea btw thank you! It's one of the reasons why I wanted to move up north, be closer to the mountaijns, and in a totally new area :)
Love the video! same for me, its good that u listen to ur self and not burnout. take ur time, iam always excited if u drop a video. doesent need to be every week💪🏻🤝
I'm kind of like an Australian version of you. I'm a little bit older than you and I thought about a RUclips channel called that Aussie guy but it would stop me going out and just shooting. I do really well with my photography and I commented on one of your previous videos about the GFX which I own and I would love to expand my photography into content creation and a RUclips channel but that would take me away from the thing that I love doing which is just being in nature and I can understand once you get to that level of content that you kinda have to keep going. I enjoy your videos because you have a different way of looking at things. And you have a great sense of humour as well. But it is challenging. What I did recently was take up Portrait Photography and I had never done it before I purchased some lights and I'm getting into it. That doesn't mean that I'm gonna stop my landscape Photography. It's just nice to do something completely different. It feels like I'm beginning Photography again that excitement that buzz so I would urge any photographer who is struggling for motivation to maybe just try a different style of Photography something out of your comfort lane that is completely different and it doesn't matter whether you succeed or fail in fact it's okay if you fail because you will still learn some skills that you can then apply to your other Photography.
I really appreciate you taking your time to write me this comment, thank you. I so much agree, just trying something different often reignites that spark. For me it can be different location, different type of photography or even just a new piece of equipment I haven't tried. My friend is sending me a Leica film camera to try out.
