- Nebraska QB Steve Taylor sets a (then) school record for TD passes in a September 1987 game against UCLA in a highly anticipated match-up between the #2 and #3 ranked teams. Look for Taylor and Coach Tom Osborne sharing a cup of water on the sidelines during a timeout. Created with iMovie. Go Big Red!

I was born 40 minutes before kick off of this game. My dad always talks about watching the game with me in his arms and how great of a game it was. Tomorrow will be 28 years to the day!
I love how Steve and Coach shared a cup of water (presumably) while talking on the sidelines in the middle of this video. Hilarious! Steve's like "Hey Coach, you want some? Hold this cup!"
Hahahahahaha and YES!! This brings back memories
Joe Ganz now holds the record for most TD passes in a game with 7 (vs Kansas State 11.10.07).
That's pretty amazing considering the era. You would have thought Humm or Ferragamo would have gotten 5 TDs first.
Not knocking the 87 team. Ken Clark was also a stud, but if Steve was on the 95 team his statistics would of been through the roof, met him once and he is an awesome person too!
I remember Osborne saying after the game that that wasn't football, referring to all of the passing. I thought that was a dumb statement, because passing is a big part of football.
Either you are too young to understand Nebraska traditional football, or never paid attention. It was ground and pound with Osborne. Passing was an afterthought. The option described Nebraska. Passing was the last resort. It worked well here.
Sure would’ve been good if you shared the score of this gm. Bcuz I’m not going to Google it. Damn 😒
