Missouri came out and punched NU in the mouth many times! Scott Frost willed Nebraska the chance to win this game, and Matt Davison came through in the clutch! Great game. Mizzou certainly earned Nebraska's respect on that day. GBR!
@@nuduce123Please. Big Red fans are “classy” until they lose, then their true colors come out full force. Being present in Columbia for the Mizzou wins in 03, 05, and 07 made that very clear. Nebraska fans aren’t that special.
@@chadstearman I remember in 1999, we sat next to Nebraska fans and they berated our stadium, our players, and our program. Then called it "just in good fun". I'm so glad they are getting a dose of their own medicine.
Michigan won three of the 4 polls. Nebraska should have played Florida State in the Orange Bowl, but Nebraska was paired against a weaker Tennessee team !!! SMH
What was the bad call? The multiple illegal pick plays Missouri ran on offense? Or the blatant DPI they missed on Davison on the final drive? Or the defender draped all over Wiggins on the touchdown with no DPI called? If the Missouri defender wasn't mugging him and tackling him before the ball got there, it probably doesn't bounce off his leg in the first place. There's no rule that a player can't try to deflect the ball to himself, which is what Wiggins was doing. Davison's hands were under the ball. GTFOH.
@@andrewcramer9200The calls you mentioned can be bad. However, there was no PI on that play, and it was a bad call, but I'm glad it went out way. It's like the 5th down. We got lucky.
@sorney98 Michigan was lucky they even got to share the national championship. Not only did Nebraska beat Tennessee, by a wide margin, they also embarrassed Peyton Manning. Completely overshadowing Michigan's win over a subpar Washington State team.
And you guys made Scott Frost your coach? He was the worst QB in Nebraska's history. He could not throw a pass. I am not kidding you. The nose of the ball would be pointed downward. Nebraska should have destroyed Mizzou in this game.
He wasn't a true passer but he passed well enough to help win a National Championship. Missouri was riding high on a winning streak and played with fire. Missouri showed how good they were when they finished the season ranked.
How is it Frost's fault Nebraska didn't destroy Missouri in this game? The defense gave up 38 points thanks in no small part to blatant illegal pick plays by the Missouri offense not being called. With a more typical Nebraska defensive effort, they do, in fact, win this game fairly easily.
I watched this game when I was 12 years old my older brother was #48 inside linebacker for Mizzu #rip Al Sterling
Remember watching this game, true classic
I watch that game at a hotel in Scottsbluff back in 1997.

Missouri fans showed how classy they were by threatening to punch 13 year old me in the face just for cheering.

I would’ve loved to see Michigan and Nebraska play for the chip💯🔥🔥
I was at that game. I've NEVER seen so many deer in the headlights as I saw in the stands at game's end.
97 Nebraska team wasn't as dominant as the 95 team but were still terrifying to play nonetheless.

Such a bad call, but it was our turn to get one to go out way.

Michigan that year 1997 deserved the National Championship unanimously.
Stupid coaches and their polls.
*MISSOURI HUMILIATED NEBRASKA IN THAT GAME.*
Michigan barely beat an overrated WSU team. Also did you forget how bad Nebraska embarrassed Tennessee? They were a much better team.
Right yet Nebraska destroyed ranked teams towards the end of season unlike Michigan. Nebraska deserved share of the title.

Michigan isn't scoring in that game
