I trimmed my big Thoth (green US Games) today and imo looks so much better than with the borders. I love it so much, trimming made me connect with my deck even more 😊
Hey there, I am really enjoying your channel. You are helping me along my thoth journey. I love LFH's artwork so much, but the whole Crowley thing is hard to come to terms with. I have a small trimmer but find it just a little too small for cutting tops and bottoms off cards evenly. Do you have a link for your trimmer/guillotine?
Nice to hear, thank you! I don't, it's been too long ago that I bought it. I think google is your best friend; type in guillotine cutter with paper guide. Good luck!
I wonder if you have seen or have a "remastered" edition that was published in German, French and Finnish? These editions are not sold in the US because of US Games copyright issues. But when I saw these newly photographed images of the originals, I really "saw" the Thoth. The closest to the originals that one can find. You can see a video of the German edition compared to a new green box edition at Cards and Cups video by Chris. I have the French edition which is the large size and really shows the details wonderfully. Thanks for all of your videos, by the way.
I have not seen those, and can't seem to find this channel you're talking about. Now I'm curious to see what they look like. I have seen sweet Hanni's video where she included the Finnish Thoth and I think the video must not do it justice because I had a hard time spotting the differences between that particular deck and a US games Thoth. So I'm eager to see more :) Thank you for being here!
@@AstralLadyTarot No wonder you couldn't find it,...I gave you the wrong name. So sorry, Anna. Here's the link to Cards n Colors: ruclips.net/video/vTPsUH_ckfI/видео.html
And here's another from "Nobody Here" which compares 3 different Thoth decks including the Remastered. Note that Anneke's camera filter does mute the images a bit but you'll get the idea. ruclips.net/video/kFARjIfS_iA/видео.html
@@annerobinson2288 oh yeah, I have seen these videos. I think it’s kind of unhelpful that in this link the new deck is being compared in color etc to a greenie 😅
@@AstralLadyTarot The French large edition is where the comparisons are easier as they are all the same size. I am happy to have this edition that is the closest to the originals. You can buy the French edition easily on French Ebay. Just be sure to buy the one with the gold rim backs as the newer printings went back to an older edition and have white back borders. Talk about Thoth geeks!
Interesting video, thank you. Not to be a bother/pest, but i am curious about your guillotine trimmer with guide bar ... can you share a link to it or the brand name (product number)? Please.😁 In my area, they only sell those Fiskars slider trimmers, which don't work very well. Thank you again. Enjoy!☮️
Hello from Canada! : ) Can you help me figure out what the big deal is with these "green" decks? I got my large size green in the early 90s, and it didnt really click with me, but I kept it for the lovely art and the fact that Crowley designed it.Ive seen later versions online (Golden Edition) and the colours seem brighter and sharper. Mine are more subtle and subdued. Dont get me wrong I love my deck, and everyone who knows a lot about tarot says I have the one everyone wants. Is it the bigger art? Anything you can tell me would be appreciated Thank you : ) PS Great job on the trimming! Looks wonderful
Thank you. I didn't keep this deck though. The Greenie really was IT for me. The green decks used to be disliked, it was a printing error. The deck is supposed to have colors that don't have that green hue of course. But nowadays it's a collector's item and a lot of people seem to agree with me now that the green is really lovely. Also, better card stock and the backs don't have that white border around them. Hope this helps!
@@AstralLadyTarot This does help ! Its funny how so many good things tend to happen by "accident". Thank you so much for your help and taking the time to answer! : )
what the manufacturers have done is take the picture on the card then made the cards shorter and wider to fit the card rather than put the picture on and adjust border. this squashes the circles. I can't stand them anymore... so I bought a greenie 😁
@@tarotcrows i bought mine from ebay. i paid 35 quid but two cards had a ripped corner. im thinking of trimming the borders off. the box in bad condition but im making a new one
Hi Anna! :D Cool to see the whole process! What's the name of that shop in Amsterdam? Maybe I could hop in the city at some point (I am staying in Utrecht now), and visit it! Thank you ^_^

It certainly did cross my mind, but I could really only do it with a Greenie that has seen better days I think ;)
Wow, it came out so well! This was super helpful, I'm always a bit wary with trimming decks! You have a seriously awesome paper cutter as well 🙉😍
This is absolutely NOT a second deck purchase. Everyone will agree on this. 😏♻️🧡 Beautiful finish!
The Entropy Apothecary Hahah, we shall see...
BTW, Fierce and Pretty also shows the German and Finnish editions in her Thoth collection video.
love this😍

@@AstralLadyTarot thank you 🙏 sometimes it is difficult to know the right search terms to use.
Why would the Crowley thing be hard to deal with?
@@interferis6252 🤷 I don't know, I made this comment ten months ago 😂
But Crowley is a controversial figure, so possibly something to do with that.
Great job! The images really pop. Is it Fabula Rosa you got them from? Love that shop 💕
El Dee's Tarot Galaxy Yes that’s the one, I love it too
Mooi geworden 😍

So, what were the original dimensions of the deck before trimming? AGM-Urania has three sizes: 95 x140mm, 70x110mm and 57 x 89mm….
I don’t know, but it was the one we generally call “large”, same as most of the vintage Thoth decks
@@AstralLadyTarot ok… there seems to be a Europewide shortage of Thoth decks. The AGM Urania will be back in shops in January they say…
