I'd enjoy a video on the different modes and how they're used in math rock. I understand what the modes *are* as scales, but its tricky to get an ear for how they influence melodies.
Another great video Steve. Hey I would love to see some videos of math rock/midwest emo song covers with the adjacent tabs on the screen. That would be so amazing. Cheers!
Thanks for the question. Yes, I like how comfortable it is to play and the pickups sound killer! I'd like to try a proper jazzmaster (with the floating bridge and jazzmaster trem) but I worry it won't feel as easy to play as the strat style I have built for myself.
@@LetsTalkAboutMathRock I recently got a jazzmaster too, after years of strat. I love the tremolo system, it's very smooth and expressive. It's not necessarily floating: it comes with a mechanical switch to easily lock it to only dive (although it only works after you regulate the tension of the spring: there's a screw for that). I'd say don't worry about it. Although, when I look at that YY signature model I second guess my choice...
for sure! The pinky might be a bit challenging though. I forgot to mention that in the video even though I had it written in my video notes. haha When I play with a pick I'll tap using my middle and ring fingers 👍
Hey man can you bring back super tuning friends? I would love to submit something. Used to love those videos. If you’re not interested, all good. Thanks for the videos!
Same 2-1, 2-1, 2-1 applies. Just need to work out where the different notes are, but you could even just keep a similar shape to standad tuning and if you end up with doubled notes, then this is no problem and can sound really cool!
Hello you lovelies. Hope you find this one useful! Master the math rock finger tapping technique here 👉 bit.ly/3zKIcTY
i practiced daily and now i have epic finger tapping thanks
Haha! Fantastic. Glad to hear that 🙌
I'm so glad that your stuff is getting such better production. Proud of you Steve.
Thanks! Means a lot
i could see the intial riff becoming a really bop song :3
Nice! Thanks! Yeah, with a couple of tweaks!

Sure! It's something I'm interested in too. I'll see what I can do 👍
You’re amazing dude, seriously!!

Hey Steve! How do you like the Jazzmaster?

Ian Williams sighting! Don Cab is life
I want another les paul because of him 😂
@@LetsTalkAboutMathRock 😂 Damon Che is giving online drum lessons now too! 🤘
Thx
Were you using standard tuning for this?
yes 👍
If I plan to play holding a pick, can I change the index-middle-ring pattern to middle-ring-pinky?
for sure! The pinky might be a bit challenging though. I forgot to mention that in the video even though I had it written in my video notes. haha

This
I can't find video about finger tapping without compressor. Am I wrong about that there was such video?
can i do this on a acoustic guitar?
yes
If it has strings tap it
I had a harder time taping on acoustic, But with enough practice it’s definitely possible!
Yes. The only limitation is yourself
If it has strings tap it
A Compressor has joined the conversation.
This is good
What if I have different tuning? How to adapt this materials to it?
