Very true.Acer saving money 'borrowing' this design instead of designing new. Hardware isnt impressive either.It better be hella cheap otherwise its not gonna sell well.Ally X is better but price is its major letdown
They announced this unit at IFA the same show that AMD drops the news on the Z2 and Z2 extreme processors...it's sad to say but this is DOA, the other vendors had over a year's head start and Acer is late to the game
Genuinely curious, but at this point are these refresh rates not just a sales gimmick? So far I haven't seen any of these PC handhelds hit these frame rates without a significant reduction in a game's graphics settings. Would money not be better spent boosting battery life or something else? It just seems ridiculous to me to put these screens on machines that don't have hardware to support it.
Nothing will beat the steam deck for ppl who think it needs to be “beaten” which is unfortunate for them. That’s their loss. Those who know know that practically everything beats the steam deck. Anything capable of running lossless scaling beats any device that cannot run it & anything that uses Linux cannot run it. At best you are marketing to two different consumer bases. It’s like asking if the latest XBOX or Playstation beats Nintendo in the eyes of a typical Nintendo fanboy. Clearly, it does. But a Nintendo fanboy has blinders on & does not care. They will take their stubbornness to their grave.
Expect some fantastic visuals and fps for an unbelievable hour. At that point, why call it a handheld if you have to stay plugged in? Better have a low TDP mode. Also, threw up in my mouth a little after hearing Windows is on this thing. Maybe dump that if you are interested in getting it and jumping to Bazzite.
Wouldn't buy it they're trying too hard to make it look and all fancy looking when really it's the hardware not the shell that makes it look good so if theya are not going to do a good job on the hardware then like I said before I'll say it again I'll pass

No way it's going to be around the $600 mark. The 144hz screen and choice of cpu already indicate they're aiming at the higher price point.
