This song came out a few weeks before my husband passed away. He took my entire soul with him that day. Every day I lashed out, in a fury, begged, cried and screamed for him to just come back to me. It exhausted me. After I was finally able to pick myself up off the floor, this song was every emotion I felt inside. It’s still hard to listen to, but, now I’m able to remember him with a smile, too. Love you, Baby. “In perpetuum semperque”

Why only 13M views. It just proves that there are less person who've fallen in true love and heard this song. This song is best for people in early stages of love. Do dedicate it to your lover, hope he/she hears this and respond to your feelings. There's nothing beautiful than that. Wish you all find the love of your life and enjoy this thing, people call 'life' to full extent of it, with your special one.
Every now and again I forget how much I love snow patrol. Then this and crack the shutters pop into my head for no reason, and I find myself listening to them on loops. Snow Patrol are such an underrated band, and I’m usually a bit of a metal head 🤣
Whilst my own experience with this song is not as sad as most peoples experiences i dunno i feel like ill share, i had a girlfriend in America when i was a teenager and i lived in the UK, so every line pertained to us when i missed her. Looking at her house on google maps just to feel close, dreaming i could teleport or win a lot of money and just turn up at her door seeing her smile. Hauntingly beautiful and gives me chills to this day. The raw human emotion in this song is palpable.
@@jamesrobson4894 Yea, you kinda know you have something stunning when theatrics is kept at a minimum because the emotions and lyrics speak for themselves.

I loved him beyond human comprehension. We were best friends and became bonded to each other through a terrible loss; inexplicable trauma. He was the best thing to come out of the worst days of my life. For the first time ever, I was home. I had never felt so loved and safe, even while my world had just crumbled to pieces. I had him. Why did I have to fall in love with the idea of something that maybe wasn't meant to be.
Because the real is cold and frozen over, when you dream, perhaps you will witness what love is.
Maybe let go of everything except love that you have to give. Then again maybe that might just leave you with nothing.
Because an idealist isn't a realist; we dream.

I have loved this song for years, the first time I heard it was years go when I was driving alone round New Zealand, the last holiday I had with my mum before she passed. It made me cry back then and it does the same thing to me today. Beautiful. X
Same, my last holiday was with my mum. Traveling around NZ by coach for 2 weeks. My mum passed away a month later due to an aggressive cancer. For some reason today this song popped into my head. Was reading the comments til I saw yours. I hope you are doing well.
I love this song.. reminds me of the times I have spent with my love when I thought no one loved me.. we would play Snow Patrol every time he could be with me and the memories keep coming back to me every time I hear one of their songs.. still makes me cry😢 amazing band!!❤❤❤
I can’t handle this song right now
Everything about this song just gets to me. The lyrics, the somber piano, their harmonies... I just get CHILLS!
One of the best duet in the new century:)
Music/Songs like this remind me that I should never underestimate the feelings we can experience. We are all capable of this and should treat each other with this in mind.
This. Is such a moving piece. I don't know why ...I come and watch this when I am feeling super lonely.
Miss the love of my life more everyday, I wish there was a straight line to heaven
Such a beautiful song ❤
I love this entire album so much!

2021 - still a great love song, still underrated :-(
This is my favourite Snow Patrol song, Martha Wainwright's voice is just perfect!
Memory unlocked 🥹
Beautiful.
Epitome of a long-distance relationship. I'm in one at the moment, we've been together 3 years. I didn't see him for 9 months because of covid! Thankfully we've caught up twice recently. But this song makes me think of him
