I asked this question when I saw it, could you not maybe bury Johnny WITH the locket? At least that way no-one could take it.
My take on the ending on why it just keeps going (and if the woman’s story is a direct reference to Johnny being the bear) is the director knows as an audience we are expecting something horrible to happen. We are tense and on edge (like our final girl) but they’re driving so far from Johnny it doesn’t make sense for him to pop out. Her anxiety and when’s the bad thing going to happen is reflected in the viewer. At least that’s what I took from it.

Just watched Exhuma too and there was the same trope of explaining away a supernatural monster's killings as a wild animal on the rampage. Thought it was funny to see that twice in one day.
I saw this in theaters. I have never seen so many people walk out of a movie before. Not because they were scared. They were bored.

This is a movie for horror fans, especially those who adore 80s slashers. I absolutely loved it. Didn't get bored once.

Johnny listening to them whispering is top peak comedy gold. I don’t know why I found that so funny. I can see him rolling his eyes under that mask as he’s listening.
I love how divisive this one is, my friend and I actually didn’t mind it and we ended up enjoying it. Plus also hearing an interview with Ry Barrett (the guy who played Johnny) and he explained how his movements were inspired by Jason and Michael and the way he attacks was based off animal attacks made me fall in love with his performance even more. That yoga kill will stick with me for awhile too, yikes the effects were so gnarly but oh so good.

I really enjoyed this movie even though I will admit it was slow at times but other than that had a good time! I thought it was cool it being from the killers perspective, the setting was gorgeous and the kills were intense especially with Brodie (the girl doing yoga) intense but creative? Like I didn’t expect it yet I don’t know why she didn’t try to run maybe she knew she was a goner and was like ‘fuck it I got no way I’m gonna die anyway’ idk lol 👀
We even got to go a nice stroll in nice weather with Johnny 😂

I know, I didn't understand her actions and expressions. Her face shows no emotion even when she's impaled. Then she just turns around?? And she's still expressionless looking at him? How did she not fall to the ground at that point? Even the guy in the beginning when Johnny had him against the tree he didn't flail or grab at his throat. Other than that the only other thing I hated was seeing Johnny's face. He was scarier faceless (and maskless, tbh.)

I knew the type of movie I was waking into and while it had good kills, nice setting, tried something different with its premise of full pov perspective, and having a pretty good killer it was boring at times. Like the first few times where the killer is walking or chasing after someone I didn’t mind but other times I was like okay we get it can we move on. Those last 15 mins felt like forever I almost walked out of the movie but didn’t bc I thought something was gonna happen. If I had to rewatch this movie I would stop the movie when the “final girl” starts running away. My favorite kill was obviously the yoga kill never seen anything like that💀. 5/10
the whole point of the ending is that you’re not longer in the killers perspective, anything could happen cuz you can’t see what he’s doing anymore

this movie did wonders on my adhd i was just watching it go on like these nature shots are pretty. then it reminded me "oh yeah this is a horror movie" and then I went right back into "ooo pretty forest."
Yeah, you can pretty much be a serial killer in the Sims. Build a creepy basement with a lot of tiny rooms. Lure your neighbors into those tiny rooms in your basement. Delete the doors, watch them die, collect ghosts. You now have a serial killer sim! (or use mods and kill frfr)

I found this one deceptively tranquil and relaxing in the way it was filmed. Oddly, in 4:3 aspect ratio as well. And it has a happy ending. LOL Dude got his property back.

Hey guys i started following your channel because of your Buffy reactions i am glad you guys are enjoying it so far and please dont take this the wrong way in no means am i trying to suggest that you guys rush through the series but remember buffy is 7 seasons long and angel is an additional 5 seasons long and if we are only doing one or two episodes a week its going to take you guys about 2 years to finish both shows at that pace , Just saying if that's not a concern then more power to the both of you. 😂

you know what's cool? my coworker plays the killer in this. he works with me at a pub downtown Toronto. him and his wife are both actors. and it looks like things are taking off cause he just told me shudder is giving a violent nature a sequel

to me i enjoyed the walking though, that’s part of the movie and without it, it would just be hack and slash, no story, and boring as hell

when I watched it, I mentioned to my missus that a lot of the dialogue we hear in the movie is off camera. Usually in horror movies, we'd be seeing that those conversations and point of view of the victims. The shocking moment is when the killer shows up. But here we're seeing the point of the view of the killer, we see that most of the time, there's no method, (other than the car horn), he just walks up and starts killing.
The end I thought was her staring into the woods expecting him to come out. She's just traumatized.
Brilliant idea for a video. Only pine-scented candles and randomly spraying each other with OFF! could have made this more fun ❤

You 2 need to watch Shudders “Host” my favorite horror found footage paranormal movie of all time! Filmed during lockdown by a group of friends and ended up being so amazing Shudder picked it up. It’s wild!
This movie truly feels like 2 movies in one. You have the POV from the killer, stalking the teens, walking around, doing his stuff and then, you have the POV from the survivors who are trying to survive, figure it out, get lore dump, etc. I love it, its such a interesting concept to have in a movie. The ending could have been cut all together, but still, amazing concept and execution.

I LOVED this movie. My only problem with it was there wasn’t enough scenes of Johnny walking through the woods. I could have done with some more! Seriously though I enjoyed it, there’s not much left to do in the slasher genre so I appreciate the idea and I found all the scenery quite relaxing 😎
Lol I enjoyed the edits you threw in for this one 😆 I love this movie. The beautiful nature and the WILD kills. Skipping the last 15 mins on rewatch though that's for sure. I think that bear attack story at the end was about Johnny and when he beat that dudes head in for 10 mins just showed how he's the animal.
i think the ending meant that she got away, but johnny is still loose out there, and that the story about the bear and the urban legend about it was hinting that maybe he is at rest again and if not perhaps his crimes will be attributed to a bear or rogue animal. I thought this was refreshing, i didnt mind the longer sequences of him walking, i loved overhearing snapshots of the victims, and those slower moments really worked to contrast the graphic style of the "kills". Poor johnny, kid just wanted a tonka truck.

I like Spookyastronauts take on this movie. We aren't watching from Johnny's perspective. Instead, we are actually the woods.
The forest is so beautiful it makes you want to go but also the movie is making you stay away 😂
Can I recommend you the tv series Hannibal? It's horror, bloody juicy and soooooo queer. I think both of you will love it. 13 episodes for each three seasons, a must-watch!

I think Shudder! made this? usually they make like shity wack low budget movies. is weird to find a good one from their movies. BUT with this one is something new, bit fresh and cool. and before it came out i saw people were excited for it. So with this one i guess they put more thoughts, effort or money towards it and set it apart. It felt different. they did a good job.

This is such a weird filming angle at the start, my 👀 wanted to somehow get in front of the killer to look back to see his face after a couple of seconds of the “walking” behind him view. Took my brain 🧠 ages to get used to it. Then it shifted perspective 😂

Friday the 13th: the game
I am a gorehound and I actually really hated this one aside from some if the kills, the pacing quite literally was unbearable for me....I am not hating on the effects bc they were great but it just was not for me!
I absolutely adore this movie. Such a great homage to 80s slashers like Friday the 13th and My Bloody Valentine. I thought the cinematography was beautiful and the effects are amazing. Top 5 this year for me.
I do not understand people saying this movie is boring. Even when you just see him walking, there’s so much background shit that happens. You hear characters talking or sounds of the cars or what they’re doing, you can envision where he is in relation to the other characters and you have to basically piece together the story yourself.
It’s a lot of fun, i absolutely loved it.
It's terrible how they made an hour and thirty minute or so long film, just to show off one particular gruesome scene. Which indeed was very effective but overall, the film sucked ass. Boring, slow, nothing "deep" to say, cut and dry, just very simple and mundane. Did I expect anything spectacular? Not necessarily but give us a little more than a stroll in the woods behind a psychopath for an hour and change. Yeah, I get the fact that the director likes Gus Van Sant films, but they put us through enough slow hell already, why do more damage?
Ps. I felt very "had" at the end. Not recommended.
Agreed I've been watching horror movies for almost 30 years now and love most of em. But this movie is a shitty jason rip off with zero originality. Seems like they were also trying to pad runtime with long ass walking scenes.

Do people not understand the ending?
1. You’re no longer in the killers POV, you don’t know if he’s gonna come after them or not cuz you can’t see what he’s doing anymore.
2. The whole story the woman was talking bout could both be related to Johnny, as maybe the brother was a victim of him and it was just a “cover story” or it could explain the entire reason the movie was made. You ask about the bear, not the victim, cuz you already know the victims side not the bears, so now we have a movie where we see the bears perspective instead.
I tried to watch this because of good critics but damm what a boring cheap garbage it was 🤦🏻 wasted time
Just a gore fest with a soso killer . Way too much walking too draw out.
