Douglas Murray made a documentary about the U.S drug crisis and made multiple books warning about the dangers of migrants and the woke culture. I don’t think he’s establishment, he just has a different point of view. We can’t risk calling someone with a different point of view, our opposition, because then we’d be like the left.
What DM is saying is that yes, there are different groups of people who take decisions/actions that lead to a complex outcome, but there's no ONE group that has 100% influence on these complex outcomes. The big test is that no one ever seems to be able to name one person in THE ESTABLISHMENT.
These 2 are BOTH excellent tools in the same tool chest ~ BOTH expertly employed by the Master Craftsman - even so , there’s bound to be some friction when jostled together in the same drawer ~ ~
I could see them both being right. There may not be just one establishment, but multiple establishments that are coordinating and working together or at least not interfering with one another, so that it seems like one big establishment. Large institutions like banking, government, tech, energy, etc.
This was not a heated debate, nor even really a debate at all. This was a massive difference in intelligence and Douglas Murray trying to politely correct PBD on something simple and move on. PBD literally didn’t understand the distinction, was characteristically argumentative, and mistakenly thought Murray either couldn’t understand HIM or was being pedantic about the dictionary definition of establishment. Murray was completely right, though it wasn’t a high stakes point or a hill he wanted to die on lmao. Sadly, the comments show a lot of people having the same difficulty PBD did and being hostile or defensive in response to their own lack of comprehension. Douglas doesn’t deny the existence of A SINGLE villain in any popular conception of the powerful, the elite, the connected, or the corrupt. He couldn’t have been any clearer that it’s just not the cartoon, WWE style, cleanly organized, single “establishment” low IQ conspiracy types need it to be. There are many many many powerful cliques that conspire together, often against the interests of other cliques. They come together when it’s convenient, compete when it’s not, and often have nothing to do with each other IF THEY EVEN KNOW THE OTHER EXISTS. The Arab League is a legacy establishment. The UN is a legacy establishment. NATO is a legacy establishment. BRICS is an establishment. “Hollywood” is an establishment. The WEF is an establishment. And they absolutely are NOT United by one set of causes, nor by one set of policies or leaders.
Not quite. There was a brief moment that they weren't on the same page re 'establishment', PBD thought Murray really was being obtuse. They were both dancing around something unsaid though. Nearly all supermarket brands are owned by only 12 companies, those 12 companies are owned mostly by Blackrock and Vanguard. The largest stakeholders in those are Old families. Jewish families. Murray knew the convo was going down a road that always leads to something construed as anti-semitism and didn't want to go near it. I've been a long time reader of Murray and I think he was uncharacteristically defensive in this whole discussion.
Finally the guest that was able to put PBD down to earth regarding this conspiracy nonsense. Todays internet needs a lot of more guys like Douglas Murray because people are getting deeper and deeper to those conspiracy rabbit holes day by day and sanity is becoming a rare commodity.
I love Douglas Murray, but on this subject, I find him naïve. I really believe that there is a establishment or use any other words to describe it that dictates to a certain degree how the world population and or societies rise and fall
He's spokesman for Mileilkowsky 'netanyahu', the slave owner of the US President, the US Congres, and the US Senate. Can't get more power, and establishment than that. He must be MI6 connected, and they like the fact he's LGBTQ and Conservative at same time. They have lots of skeletons on him for sure, seing how hard he goes to defend 'they'.
I completely disagree with you. He just believes in the theory of Occams Razor. He's not saying there are not sinister forces in the world, Period. Just that the simplist answer is usually the reality of why something is happening & not a cabal of sinister men behind closed doors. And I tend to agree with him... those narcissistic billionaire asshole & corporate scumbags probably couldn't even agree on what the best chewing gum is, let alone World policy.
I agree with Murray’s idea that there isn’t a single “establishment” controlling everything, but rather groups with shared interests moving in the same direction. These groups-like businesses, political leaders, and media-may not always work together directly but often pursue similar goals because their interests align. Instead of one unified power structure, it’s more about different influential actors whose paths cross when their aims match up, creating the appearance of a cohesive establishment.
I don't know why Douglas argued against what every other sane person knows. That there are people behind the scenes who pull the strings. It exists everywhere including in government. Why get moody over it.
This man is speaking absolute facts and if you don’t agree it’s because you want to use the same excuse for your own personal and professional ceiling.

I have listened to Douglas for a number of years and have agreed with most of what he has said BUT It’s very concerning that he can deny the existence of “the establishment” when evidence of its controlling presence is everywhere and was on open display during the Covid era, has something got to Douglas?
A young film group wanted to know when congress people change. They got some newbies to allow them to follow their careers once elected to congress. At yr two, the congress people learned if they didn't kiss butt of established people they couldn't get anywhere. The new congress people asked them to stop filming them. It's the swamp.
This came out a few years ago. Think it was when Gaetz and other elected members began their freshman year in Congress. In the film both democrat and republican elected freshman vented about this and you get to see their own changes.
Maybe this is the deal Douglas has with the establishment, you can talk about anything you like and not get cancelled but you can’t talk about us ‘the establishment’

I have read comments on other interviews that praised Douglas as a genius etc. However, in this interview he is pretty subdued when faced with intelligent questioning rather than someone pandering to him. Good for you Pat.
This Douglas Murray seems to be overestimating his own intelligence 😅
Well Eton… so…

I’m pretty sure it makes sense to you that invisible forces run the world, right?? Not that stupid people fall for conmen?? Look into your own surroundings, your friends and families , they do and make stupid mistakes all the times!! You would think that someone is forcing people to do stupid things….sometimes it’s like a script in a movies!! That’s life…things happened by accidents more so than preplanned !!
@@mitchpeter5718 Yes these people are idiots I agree.
100% like Ben Shapiro or Eric Zemmour in France...it's a faulse free thinker and pure puppet
Douglas Murray made a documentary about the U.S drug crisis and made multiple books warning about the dangers of migrants and the woke culture. I don’t think he’s establishment, he just has a different point of view. We can’t risk calling someone with a different point of view, our opposition, because then we’d be like the left.
"The first rule of Fight Club is, you don't talk about Fight Club. The second rule of Fight Club is, YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT FIGHT CLUB."
What DM is saying is that yes, there are different groups of people who take decisions/actions that lead to a complex outcome, but there's no ONE group that has 100% influence on these complex outcomes. The big test is that no one ever seems to be able to name one person in THE ESTABLISHMENT.
Because it’s not one person. It’s the banks.
Obsessed with Douglass Murray ❤❤❤
He said there were multiple establishments.... He's spot on. He's also right about us not wanting to see the 'chaos'. Also right.

What in that speech didn't deserve a standing ovation? Perhaps Rashida Tlaib, the hamasniks, and the islamic republic of iran are more your speed.

I like both these guys. Douglas just said there are tons of establishments, which doesn’t exclude an establishment on the top, for me
Agreed ! & ultimately these 2 stand side by side against the dark forces engulfing our nation & the whole globe ~
I could see them both being right. There may not be just one establishment, but multiple establishments that are coordinating and working together or at least not interfering with one another, so that it seems like one big establishment. Large institutions like banking, government, tech, energy, etc.

Looking for scapegoats is easier than finding solutions.
Well, when you finally finished your monologue 🙄🥱🥱 you assumption isn't correct either. 😮
Agree completely. The amount of people in these comments who seem to think these two are on equal intellectual footing is pretty comical.
Phark up
Bravo Patrick!
Spot on, there is an establisment indeed!

Love this debate. Differentiating between "An" Establishment and "The" Establishment

Conspiratorial nonsense
He is a paid spokesman
Lying 🤥 🤥
He knows WHO are "establishment" are and it hits home for him.
By now most of us should know what is meant by the phrase "they!"
Non-binary, right lol?
