Definitely watch it. It’s not about superheroes, it just happens to have superheroes featured as placeholders for the subjects on display which are numerous, like the dangers of ideological zealotry. This series is so far removed from a superhero movie it seems silly to me to think of it in that context. What I love about it is, the writers, producers etc. certainly don’t seem to take themselves seriously in spite of the very serious subjects it examines which allows for a lot of laughs.

Not woke 👌 shows you can have a lgbtq+++ character without having to make the whole serie woke, and a strong female character without making men incompetent, 8. Short and self-contained: not endless seasons, nor unnecessary plots.

I really want to watch it, im 17 and have seen a fairly amount of inappropriate movies and shows, but people are saying the boys is just.. unlike anything. im just going to take a shot at it though because it seems really interesting and a lot of people love it
It's just a shame Wee Huey isn't Scottish like he is in the graphic novels. And they put Simon Pegg in the show who the comic Huey was based on, plays Hueys dad. But you probably already knew that.
"Preacher" was a great show but it was bizarre to have no chemistry between Jesse and Tulip. They were like good buddies or something. No passionate love affair.

Oh wow I didn't realize this was based on the work of Garth Ennis. Preacher (the comic series) is absolutely brilliant, so it makes sense that The Boys is very good. I am extremely cynical when it comes to new media, and have really enjoyed the four episodes I've seen so far. Also, Karl Urban is quickly becoming one of my favourite actors. I didn't really enjoy Dredd when I first saw it, but having seen it twice since, I wonder what the hell was wrong with me. Dredd rules and of course we'll never get a sequel to something actually worth continuing.

I'd say bump the episodes number to around 13, which worked great for Breaking Bad. It's insane, violent and filled with all the filth a true human with superpowers would be.
Gonna shill for Doom Patrol in this comment section. The Boys looks poised to surpass Doom Patrol in Season 2 but comparing the first seasons of each it's no contest. Doom Patrol was the best comic show around last year. Honorable mention Umbrella Academy. These are the trinity of good comic book shows right now. Watch dem.
