I really think this is the best valued theme park anywhere. It's cheaper and it gets you in the amusement side and water side. Free unlimited drinks and great rides. One of my favorite!
Especially considering Indiana Beach, a significantly smaller amusement park up in North Central IN, is more expensive than Holiday World! Much more bang for your buck at HW!
I used to go here with my sister when we stayed with our Aunt and Uncle in the summer for a week when we were kids. After the first summer week they took us to Holiday World during the summer week we stayed with them in Indiana. This place will always be special to us.
A little info on Holiday World. The train is the oldest ride in the park. And the Rough and Ready bumper cars are in the exact spot they had a wax hall of Presidents years ago. So glad you got to visit!
AK Devers I remember when they had bumper boats outside of the bumper cars too. Everything smelled like gasoline in that area from them. Good memories.
The freedom train was replaced a few years ago with a new train. The hall of american celebrities was located next to the bumper cars where liberty launch is. That wax museum always creeped me out when I was little. Thunder Bumpers on Chesapeake Bay (the bumper boats) was my favorite ride in the park as a kid. I can still hear the siren in my head. "All boats please dock!" So sad its no longer there. So many childhood memories for me in this park.
They offer free sunscreen, free parking, and free unlimited drinks! Amazing rides and roller coasters, too. I’d definitely say this is my favorite amusement park, easily. Plus, me and my family only live an hour away and we have season passes so the 11 times I went this year I rest my case that this must be one of the best amusement parks in the world.
Totally cool park for a single mom on a budget with 4 children, we could actually afford the two day pass! Just started watching your videos 2021, but noticed that you went in 2018.....we had just went to Holiday World in June 2018! The drinks were of different varieties, which helped when one child doesn't drink soda and another was diabetic and needed diet drinks. Lines were not long and we were able to reride several rides twice.
About two hours away from holiday world there’s a man who built a roller coaster in his front yard. Guest from all over go to ride it and he even has a guest book for people to sign. Not far from that is the big peach, which is just a farmers market with a giant peach in the front yard. Might be interesting to check out if you’re still in Indiana!
I live close to here and I was so glad you came. Holiday World is owned by some lovely people who put their people first. They have always had free drinks because they do not want anyone getting dehydrated. They used to have free ice cream as well. It's an old park but always wanting people to enjoy their families.
Finally...the Carpetbagger arrives in my neck of the woods! :) One of the best amusement parks ever. Been going there since I was a mere child of 5 years old. I'm 61 now and still go as often as possible, and yes I still ride all the rides and participate in the water park as well. Welcome to Southern Indiana, CB!
I used to ride that flying saucer looking ride Jacob was a bit unnerved about. The old models had just a chain across the notch you were in because it was centrifugal force holding you in place. With so many sue happy people walking around, I'm surprised to see one of those still around.
I go to Holiday World every year during the Summer and I can easily say that this is the best amusement park in the world. They have just about everything you would want from small rides to children to record breaking roller coasters. The free soda is amazing, my family goes nuts with the soda but they have a really good pink lemonade too. I highly recommend this place and a new ride is added every other year.
I lived in Columbus, IN till I was 12. We then moved to E. TN just outside the Smokies where I still reside. I have fond memories of my folks taking me to Santa Claus Land!
As someone who’s lived in Indiana for my entire life, Holiday world is one of the best theme parks I’ve ever been too. Free drinks, sun screen, and the place no matter how many people there it never seems crowded!
I worked there about 10 years ago and I was a ride operator in what we called the "dry park" (no water rides). I took care of about 5 rides a day. Funny enough one year the fans broke inside Holidogs costume and it sounded like he was growling at little kids 🤣 needless to say they fixed that lol
I've been to many parks, including Disney and universal, but this has got to be my favorite theme park. It's not overly priced, you get free parking, sunscreen, and drinks, and for as few coasters as it has, they are all long and extremely well done. It's an amazing place
The 2nd oldest amusement park in the world is in my city, the Wurstelprater in Vienna, Austria, opened to public in 1766. Come visit someday :) oldest one is Bakken in Denmark, gonna be there soon :) love your theme park videos!
In the Christmas area, there used to be a live glassblowing workshop that I absolutely adored. They got rid of it a few years back and it broke my heart. Now they sell great fudge in there, but I will always miss the glass blowing. Thanks for going out to my favorite little amusement park in my area. My friend recommended your channel, so Holiday World was the first video of yours that I looked up. I appreciate that you never made fun of it. We know the park is old fashioned and kitschy, but that's its charm. Plus unlimited soda and sunscreen 😁 Also during the Fall, they add a corn maze, hay ride, haunted house, and a pit of corn for kids to play in. It's the most midwest thing ever.
What a nice amusement park. It looks like they take very good care of it. Looked very clean too. I liked all the trees, makes it nicer when it is hot. I like that they have rides that aren’t all Extreme rides so chickens like me can have fun too! Free drinks too! The park by us took all the trees out and paved over all the green areas, no shade left and is almost all Extreme rides now.
NOLADEEJ that train has been there since I was a kid. I'm 28 now. Not very old but the park has changed a lot for the better. Glad they kept the train though. Nostalgia
Does anyone else remember there being a doll museum in the 4th of July area? I remember it from when I was a kid, but mentioned it to a couple of friends who both went all the time as kids and they thought I was imagining it. Anyone remember this?
I haven't been to many theme parks, but Holiday World is by far my favorite. It has a very Opryland feel to it. I am from Nashville and went to Opryland many times as a kid.
This is my area! I’ve gone to this park since I was 2! I’m now 39 and still love it and have a blast every time!!! The family who own it are super sweet and constantly add new attractions! I don’t do coasters (bad phobia!) but the only one I’ve ever tried was the raven when it first opened... each experience here is better than than one before!!!
Lady Maverick 6779 same here. Im 38 and grew up going to this park from back when it was still santa claus land. It took our family years before we actually called it holiday world instead of santa claus land after the name change. Lots of great memories!
I remember going to this place in the 1990s. The biggest coaster they had was called the Firecracker. A small (maybe 75 foot peak) metal coaster. The next biggest ride there was the Banshee. Then they added the Raging Rapids followed by The Raven a few years later to get into the legit theme park category. Always a great ticket value
Jacob, thank you for sharing this. I grew up in Evansville Indiana and spent many summers at holiday world. The park has changed so much over the years but remains clean and friendly. Too bad they took out the wax museum, it was originally next to the rough riders bumbercars. Small but I always enjoyed it. Safe travels :)
I'm so glad you got to try Holiday World! My family and I go every year! They used to have this doll museum and toy museum in the cafeteria. I miss that stuff.
Grew up and live in Evansville, In. Merlin's Castle used to be an arcade just FYI! And the cat's name is KittyClaws I've gone there so many times since I was little! Iconic! Can't do the rides anymore bc of my back and heart but the water part is great! I'm so glad you made it to my side of the world!
Judy Osborne it’s the only amusement park i’ve ever been to ... i grew up going there and i even just went yesterday ! but since it’s the only place i’ve ever been to i say it’s pretty fun 😂
I love this place ❤️integral part of my childhood. I grew up and only recently moved away from southeast Illinois and we made trips here almost every summer when I was little. Memorieessss
I think that's awesome you're the only RUclipsr I've seen that has went to Holiday World I live here in Indiana and have thought about it many times so thank you
i am weirdly tall. the 1st time i went, i was 2. we have gone every year with the exception of 2013, 2016, and 2020. this is one of the best kid parks out there. sure, it’s not as intense as Cedar Point, or Kings Island but it is a must to go to if you have kids. not to mention the prices are so good!! we always go in out little pop-up camper, and we get 2 days of fun with that one ticket that includes our camping spot, and our tickets! you also can’t go wrong with the free parking, drinks, and sunscreen!!! not to mention the employees are soooo nice there!!!!!!!! i remember one time i fell going up the stairs to the legend, (because i am clumsy) and the employees came right over and helped me with my little boo boo. they also have such a good water park! the only downside is that the wildebeest breaks down a lot. over all i love this park with all of my heart ❤️. this is a must go to park if you have kids or young thrill seekers.
I actually went to Holiday World during the summer and I’ll agree, the wooden rides are rough. My sister and I went on two and we immediately got headaches.
Hi Jacob, the theme park is really awesome there is so much for kids to do and it goes right back to a time when it was still cool to listen to nursery rhymes most kids these days just want their Nintendo 3DS to play with. Brilliant and I loved Father Christmas at the end he really had that laugh down very well lol. x
“There is human beings in there!” Indeed there are! I know that ride as The Roundup in a carnival from my youth, and that thing is a blast, trust me! 😁. Love that ride; one of my all-time favourites. Seriously. 👍🏻 You don’t like being wet? Not even on a scorching hot day? I find it refreshing myself.
living in illinois by the border of indiana, holiday world is always an at least 3x a year trip. such a fun time with great food and free drinks basically everywhere. i hope everyone gets to go!
Jacob holiday world feels like it's out in the middle of nowhere but amazing water park. Let's just say I'm not a huge fan of rollercoasters but when you add water to them now that's the ticket.
So, Holi-dog is way more humble than Mickey! I was at Disneyland last year and that guy was walking around with security dressed as regular employees! I know the secret service when I see them! I bet I could have a regular conversation with Holi-dog! He seems grounded and relatable!
We take our kids to Holiday World ever year when school let's out, we were amazed to watch you go somewhere we go as we've watched you for a long time!! I rewatched it with my kids and they were tickled. Can I ask what day you went? We were there June 29th.
I really think this is the best valued theme park anywhere. It's cheaper and it gets you in the amusement side and water side. Free unlimited drinks and great rides. One of my favorite!
Chris Brown Yes,you're right! I forgot about that.
Also free parking
Especially considering Indiana Beach, a significantly smaller amusement park up in North Central IN, is more expensive than Holiday World! Much more bang for your buck at HW!
I've forgotten some of these other perks!
Free soft drinks, free parking, free sunscreen!!!
I love Holiday World. Its good to see it again.
Tampa Jay It's one of my favorite places to go in Indiana!
lm going there again next year
Bakken, located in Klampenborg, North of Copenhagen (Denmark), opened in 1583 and is currently the oldest operating amusement park in the world.
Amen to the kid that said excuse me
I noticed that and it's a sign of good parents.
Lol that’s most of us in southern Indiana
SHARKANATOR 72. I live in Pinckneyville Illinois
I noticed that too. Great kid.
i thought the same thing! that was the cutest and most polite "excuse me" ever
I used to go here with my sister when we stayed with our Aunt and Uncle in the summer for a week when we were kids. After the first summer week they took us to Holiday World during the summer week we stayed with them in Indiana. This place will always be special to us.
I'm amazed at how clean that place is; especially the turkey ride. What a great little theme park. I'd love to visit it someday.
Same here
SigGuy 320 Holiday World is super clean! Even cleaner than Disney. They don't use straws in their drinks or use condiment packages.
SigGuy 320 it's still a family run business, they really take care of it.
SigGuy 320 you wouldn't regret it. The water park is super awesome too.
Voted Americas cleanest theme park like 10 years in a row
A little info on Holiday World. The train is the oldest ride in the park. And the Rough and Ready bumper cars are in the exact spot they had a wax hall of Presidents years ago. So glad you got to visit!
AK Devers I remember when they had bumper boats outside of the bumper cars too. Everything smelled like gasoline in that area from them. Good memories.

the bumper cars are called Rough Riders. not rough and ready.
Also the Holiday World is not the oldest theme park in the world its Bakken in Denmark :)
Holiday World is my childhood! My daughter loved this too! It’s definitely the cleanest park I’ve been. They also offer free sunscreen!
Cora B and free parking too! I grew up going to this park from the early 80's when it was still called Santa Claus Land. Love it!
They offer free sunscreen, free parking, and free unlimited drinks! Amazing rides and roller coasters, too. I’d definitely say this is my favorite amusement park, easily. "A turkey baste dark ride." hehe
Savage Mister yeah and it's in the middle of the water park.

Not far from that is the big peach, which is just a farmers market with a giant peach in the front yard. Might be interesting to check out if you’re still in Indiana!
I think I would have had to bail off that train with that man telling nursery rhymes over and over! 😳
I couldn't stop giggling at that...lol
jcg336 yeah me too
Lol! This was my job one year when I worked for this theme park. Great place!
TheRhonda77 You probably quoted Nursery Rhymes in your sleep! 😄
HE DID PRETTY GOOD ON THE JACK AND JILL ONE!!!!!
I live close to here and I was so glad you came. Holiday World is owned by some lovely people who put their people first. They have always had free drinks because they do not want anyone getting dehydrated. They used to have free ice cream as well. It's an old park but always wanting people to enjoy their families.
I spot my self at 2:18! That’s me operating the scrambler!
I cant believe you didn’t ride the Thunderbird roller coaster????? Its one of the smoothest riding coasters I’ve ever been on. Great video as always
Troy Chavis It really is awesome! And the sound on it makes it even better!
Yeah, that and Gatekeeper at Cedar Point are made by the same company. They are so smooth and quiet.
The end iPod it kinda sucks because I hang at upside down at the end
It looked like he learned about it when he was leaving. And the Thunderbird is pretty far into the park
I'm pretty sure all B&M's are S m o o t h
Finally...the Carpetbagger arrives in my neck of the woods! :) One of the best amusement parks ever. Been going there since I was a mere child of 5 years old. 7:33 A turkey based dark ride or a turkey baste dark ride?
Stash Merkin I hat the animatronics
It’s actually fun and on a hot day it’s fun to stay In line lol
Holiday World is family owned since right after WWII. Great park very clean and something for everyone. Glad you made it to southern Indiana Jacob
I can only handle a few weeks of Christmas a year. HALLOWEEN, however, never gets old!
Yes
They are missing a haunted house!
I lived in Columbus, IN till I was 12. We then moved to E. TN just outside the Smokies where I still reside. I have fond memories of my folks taking me to Santa Claus Land!

I think this is the best maintained park I've seen you visit....and the brightest "dark" ride.
I've been to many parks, including Disney and universal, but this has got to be my favorite theme park. It's not overly priced, you get free parking, sunscreen, and drinks, and for as few coasters as it has, they are all long and extremely well done. It's an amazing place

Sophie Katharina holiday world opened in 1946 so I’m guessing the one you’re talking about is the oldest
I went there in 1978! Had a great time!
David Mac holiday world was the first real amusement park with rides the park she is talking about didn't have rides in 1766
Sophie Katharina actually the worlds oldest park is bakken amusment park that opened in 1583

My home park! Fun fact, the Merlin’s Castle restrooms used to be an arcade, they just never took the sign down.
Splashing Safari is consistently rated in the top 10 water parks on the travel channel. My family and I loved it.
Thank you Jacob for taking us to Holiday world I saw you and Adam The Woo at another park in Indiana you guys get around Have fun
What a nice amusement park. It looks like they take very good care of it. Looked very clean too. I liked all the trees, makes it nicer when it is hot. @13:14 SANTA!
I know him!
The train ride reminds me a LOT of Storyland in City Park New Orleans!
I vaglley remember some type of doll toy shop in the 4th of July area but I think they removed it for a restaurant or something like that
I haven't been to many theme parks, but Holiday World is by far my favorite. It has a very Opryland feel to it. I am from Nashville and went to Opryland many times as a kid.
I know a few years back it was named the best non-Disney theme park in the U.S. I live in central Indiana and it is well worth the three hour drive!
The Christmas allstar baby jesus! Haha that part had me dying haha
Thank you for visiting our local theme park. I'm about 30 mins away lol. Love the channel
What a quaint oldschool theme park.
I'm from Indiana and have been there many times. And love it there. Hope have a great time.
I absolutely love your videos CarpetBagger. Thank you for sharing this. I'd love to go there soon.
I love holiday world
Hella Bargers Me too!
I love this theme park! It’s very underrated! I’m glad a RUclipsr went there. My family and I even have seasons passes!
4:09 rip Jacobs handshake
I hate when that happens.

This looks awesome! Love that the Turkey ride ended with a pizza dinner.
Looks like fun. Lots of whizzardry going on at Merlin's.
Oh my stars!!! Holiday World is genius!!!!
I was there yesterday! You could not wait!!
Holiday World is awesome, i go there every summer and schools even take end of the year trips there!
I really think I'd fall in love with that theme park. It may drive me a little wacky as well though that there is not Easter section! Lol!
Same here!
Yeah, an Easter section would be great
Thanksgiving is still relatively new, I think they’ll add more on later, then I’d have more attractions to ride 🙃
Live not very far away from holiday world, definitely is a “holiday” when we do end up going
Judy Osborne it’s the only amusement park i’ve ever been to ... i grew up going there and i even just went yesterday ! but since it’s the only place i’ve ever been to i say it’s pretty fun 😂
This is the best place ever! I loved it more than Disney when I went as a kid.
That turkey call to ride was so cute!!
Raising Phoenix it's good for dad's that are hunters... My uncle and brother would think it's a hoot!
pika23 it’s nothing like real hunting tho 😂
They updated the Christmas section. It's more Christmassy. 😊 love this place. Went there three times last year! Plan on going this year too.
I love this place ❤️integral part of my childhood. I grew up and only recently moved away from southeast Illinois and we made trips here almost every summer when I was little. Memorieessss
I think that's awesome you're the only RUclipsr I've seen that has went to Holiday World I live here in Indiana and have thought about it many times so thank you

over all i love this park with all of my heart ❤️. this is a must go to park if you have kids or young thrill seekers.
Love this place go here every year big part of my childhood
I am impressed He was able to meet basically every theme character I have met 2 in my 12 trips!
This was trancendent. I need to go there. Your videos always brighten my day. Thanks!
Always good to wake up to a carpetbagger video!
Looks fun! It must be popular because lots of people there! Thanks for taking us along!
I Love Watching your Videos Jacob!!! You Rock!!
3:24 that cracked me up 😂
I actually went to Holiday World during the summer and I’ll agree, the wooden rides are rough. My sister and I went on two and we immediately got headaches.
Hi Jacob, the theme park is really awesome there is so much for kids to do and it goes right back to a time when it was still cool to listen to nursery rhymes most kids these days just want their Nintendo 3DS to play with. Brilliant and I loved Father Christmas at the end he really had that laugh down very well lol. x
Merlins castle used to be an arcade
I've been a million times but had to watch to see your experience!
Lightning Rod at Dollywood in Tennessee is now the #1 wooden coaster on the planet lol
I’m not a fan of that one
I love holiday world. Its about a 3 to 4 hr drive from indianapolis. We went last year but this year were going to kings island.
“There is human beings in there!” Indeed there are! I know that ride as The Roundup in a carnival from my youth, and that thing is a blast, trust me! 😁. Love that ride; one of my all-time favourites. Seriously. 👍🏻
You don’t like being wet? Not even on a scorching hot day? I find it refreshing myself.
Great video Jacob especially liked the Turkey shoot ride
The turkey ride was SO cool! Absolutely loved it!
Okay, that turkey ride was actually adorable.
living in illinois by the border of indiana, holiday world is always an at least 3x a year trip. such a fun time with great food and free drinks basically everywhere. i hope everyone gets to go!
I live about 2 hours away from holiday world and honestly it is just a great park. So glad a cheap yet fun park like it exists.
I have to visit that amusement park one day! Looks awesome!
You didn't show the Thunderbird. My husband helped build that, Union Ironworkers. Assured it's the safest structurally.
CARPET BAGGER ROCKS!!!!
I've been binge watching your videos since yesterday # new subscriber
Thank you
I used to love going here when I was young. So much fun!!!
I am from Indiana. Havent been to Holiday World in 20 years. Really want to go.
"Turkey BASED dark ride" an unintentional pun that I literally laughed out loud!👌😂 anyone else..no?... Just me...lol!
I love Holiday World I live in Indiana and we have a family tradition to go there every year
I go there every summer I’m going there twice this year. I’m going next Friday and I can’t wait it’s honestly such a good theme park
Jacob holiday world feels like it's out in the middle of nowhere but amazing water park. Let's just say I'm not a huge fan of rollercoasters but when you add water to them now that's the ticket.
I think I walked behind you as you filmed The Legend
So, Holi-dog is way more humble than Mickey! I was at Disneyland last year and that guy was walking around with security dressed as regular employees! I know the secret service when I see them!
I bet I could have a regular conversation with Holi-dog! He seems grounded and relatable!
We take our kids to Holiday World ever year when school let's out, we were amazed to watch you go somewhere we go as we've watched you for a long time!! I rewatched it with my kids and they were tickled. Can I ask what day you went? We were there June 29th.
I have been many times because I live in Indiana, a really fun place!
How could they forget Festivus?!
ahhhhhhh loves it
They would have to pay licensing fees to use Seinfeld IP
great mascots 🐶😺🎅. and awesome giraffes in swim trunks
I love the Thanksgiving ride! 🦃
Great video as always. Although the worlds oldest them park is in Denmark.
Bakken :D
