When you look at Prince's library of songs, you see his sense of humor throughout. You also see that he really doesn't take himself too seriously. This is especially evident in Sexy M.F. The dialogue at the beginning of this video is really funny, how everyone throws "shade" at each other's hats and hair style... Anyway. Just wanted to say Prince really did have a sense of humor. I miss him terribly, but in an odd way, his death has made me rediscover his art, which I am grateful for. Shine on, you crazy diamond in the heavens somewhere a star now shines brightly and I know it is him looking down at us all rediscovering him.

This song is very unique and creative even today. Shows the genius of prince and what he was capable of. I still hugely enjoy this song.

That is why I cant say which band I like more. They were too different. NPG seemed more musically flexible, though. And I love thug prince. And your solo was great. prince was right - leave it.
Prince has said that he overanalyzed his first album seeking to make it perfection and it was just too stressful so I think he started embracing more of a loose jam session feel from his second album on.
Tess Wonderful the NPG were better musicians but I thought The Revolution just looked cooler.
At this point he was trying too hard to be street and black when that was never his original appeal. Cat/Sheila over 'The Game Boyz', any day

The Symbol Album was pure 🔥 from start to finish and it still pisses me off that it wasn’t the smash hit it should’ve been because there were massive hits in it waiting to happen. I hope a new generation will discover this album and see that he was still making amazing & genius albums well past the 1980’s.

Prince would be the first to tell ya....that's a James Brown inspired beat. The bridge of "Say It Loud, I'm Black And I'm Proud" among others. Don't get me wrong, Prince was a super badazz! He took things from Brown, Sly, Hendrix, Little Richard, etc...all the best! And he rolled it all up into his own special gumbo.
