❤One thing I quit buying is coffee creamer. I learned how to make my own. 1 can sweetened condensed milk, regular milk and a splash of vanilla and mix together. Some ppl like to add half and half or heavy whipping cream but I just go with milk b/c I always have that on hand.
One thing I wish I started earlier: cutting up and freezing produce before it goes bad. Bell peppers, onions, and garlic particularly freeze well 🙂. Having pre-chopped items saves me time when I make dinner.
I taught my girls to have a no spend week every month. For that week they eat only what they have on hand and spend 25 dollars on fresh food. You also buy nothing else except essentials like gasoline and medicine.
Freeze leftovers before they go bad, it’ll not only reduce food waste but will save so much time and money! I usually have just enough to freeze for one or 2 lunches, that’s after we’ve ate on it atleast twice before needing to be froze. This has been my most impactful change I have made recently
Rice cookers are also multiple functional. I use mine all of the time. It's a steamer, slow cooker, rice cooker, stew etc. I rarely cook rice in it but it's a staple in my kitchen. My crock pot/rice cooker 😃 many appliances are overlapped on functionality. ☺️
I also lived in NC and now OK and we also can’t give up the dryer sheets. I used one this morning on the ends of my hair lol the static was unreal and my hair was sticking to my head. All of our laundry care items are all fragrance and paraben free
My money saving thing I’ve practiced lately is buying little to no home decor for fall. I LOVE fall, it’s my favorite season! But I feel spending $ on home decor can get expensive and honestly, I am more excited for Christmas and using that money towards things my kids need. I do like decorating for Christmas, but only with a tree, lights and decorative things I already own 😀
Really good tips! I drive a 2006 Mercedes that I bought Certified Pre-Owned. It was like new and half the price. Also, other than Christmas, the extent of my seasonal decor is a wreath on the front door.
I have to use dryer sheets. I cannot stand the static. However, I cut them in half to make them last longer. Same with dish sponges. As far as vehicles... we only buy used and we pay it off in full. No expensive payments or interest. I understant paying in full is not always possible for some. Also, learn to fix your own mechanical problems. Its far cheaper. Good list!
I don’t buy flowers anymore, many years ago I realized I could make lovely fresh arrangements by using greenery from my yard. I have a few paper flowers that are beautiful and I just stick them in and I also made some wires with things threaded on them, beads, buttons, old jewelry from my aunts and grandma. Free every time.
I love this idea. I find as the seasons change I put the faux flower pics in my plants in my window sill according to the season. I wipe them off and throw back into the box of decor when done for the next year.
Just to throw it out there, you can use a rice cooker for more than rice. It’s a steamer, so you can cook other grains, fruits and vegs, fish, and a lot of other things. But my husband is Vietnamese, so it’s a must and we use it at least 3 times a week.
Very good cost saving video 🌻💛 My few areas where I still soend: *Laundry detergent (but I buy $Tree) *Dryer sheets (that static in the winter in clothing & blankets is brutal) *Seasonal (but have cut way back) *brands (I check for USA products) But overall....I've fallen in line with the unnecessary spending several years ago now 💰💰 Love these videos that make you think 🤔 and ideas we can apply!
I 100% agree with the dryer sheets! I tried to cut them out and two winters ago I would see giant sparks in our blankets. The dryer sheets really cut down on that with our sheets and blankets!
I agree. The way they promote it, my kids feel bad if they don't get to buy something. That's frustrating. We have so many books, and regularly buy them cheaper elsewhere.
Yes on no book fair!!! I work at the school and would buy my kids books. Never fails every single year within a week they’d be torn up, lost or strewn all over their room. Never again! Library it is for us too!!!
Your hair looks so cute short! Love "stop spending money if you want to save money"! I'm so with you on all the holiday decorating! I decorate for Christmas only too. I skip all the holiday decorating videos for all my favorite RUclipsrs. I don't want to see you decorating your house in pumpkins and corn husk when it's still 90 plus degrees outside. I can't give up my Downy dryer sheets! They make our clothes softer, smell so good and they do take care of static electricity. I ran out of dryer sheets one day which I still don't know how that happened. My clothes were so full of static electricity and it was in the middle of the summer. I already do all of these except the laundry detergent and dryer sheets and buying used cars. I've always bought new cars except once. I drive them forever though which is why I buy new. I had one for 6 years, 8 years, 10 years and 18 years. I'm currently driving a used car which I've put more money into than any of my other cars. I think I've probably spent the same or even more after all the work I've done. The next car I buy will be a new car again that I will drive for years and years. It will be a Honda because the car I drove for 18 years was a Honda and I put very little money in that car for repairs. I started saving to buy a condo in my 20s and fortunately I was still in that not spending mode even after I bought my condo. I was a big shopper before I started saving money at that time. Glad that healthy habit stayed with me! Great video!
I always use dryer sheets. Everytime I don't, it's the most static clothes ever. I always have thought of using dryer balls and maybe essential oils on it?
I use dryer sheets. But they have to be a name brand like bounce. The off brand stuff doesn't work the way they need to. They're used for static but also to keep your fabric soft during the drying process. However, I hang most of my clothes. But all of my jeans. Socks and underwear go on the dryer. So I use less dryer sheets and they last forever.
Great tips! Thanks! I started using dryer sheets, although I have heard bad things about them simply because I like my clean laundry to smell really good. I also started using paper plates and plastic ware because I am ALWAYS in the kitchen, especially with kids homeschooling. Dishes were constantly being used. The paper products give me a little relief. Nevertheless, after watching your video, I might try giving the paper plates and dryer sheets a break. One way we save money is because we do not smoke or drink. We have no need to buy constantly tobacco and/or alcohol products.
I use dryer sheets because we have well water. Well water has lots of minerals etc.. and it makes the clothes stiffer. The dryer sheets soften the clothes.
You actually named off several things that I already do. I shop clearance racks for clothes & goodwill. I buy store brand groceries when possible. & we got rid of satellite years ago & use an outside antenna for local RV.
And paper plates would probably make you go through trash bags more frequently. I don’t use paper napkins just for myself. I keep them on hand for guests. But reusable washcloths are cheaper. 😊Oh yes, I use microfiber cloths for my Swiffer.
Hi, I’m so glad you mentioned the laundry detergent. I definitely want a dedicated video on how things are going with it. I want more feedback on the laundry detergent. I love for my clothes to have a clean fragrance. What about fabric softener?
I don't use dryer sheets or fabric softener. Water down small amounts of store bought detergent. Had allergy to homemade detergent, so gave it up, but it was pennies on the dollar.
I'd look at either Earth Breeze or Nellie's for laundry detergent - we're also a family of 6. I've read too many stories about how homemade laundry "detergents" can ruin machines and also don't fully clean clothes. Wool dryer balls are awesome for static!
I use to make homemade laundry detergent and it caused my washer to start having a lot of problems to the point where there was no fixing it, so I quit making my own. Plus after a while it quit cleaning the clothes like it did at first. We are also a family of 6.
I have heard that before...over time the problems develop and you can get a lot of residue build up on clothes...not worth it in my opinion! A way to save on laundry is to air dry and reuse bath towels and rewear clothes unless they are actually dirty.
We no longer buy coffee on the go, we brew our own at home… & it tastes much better! Also, I think we’re going to be cutting out paper plates in our household! Thanks for the tips, just started really tightening up with our budget!
I just wanna add that if you already own a high quality rice cooker there are settings to cook other things. RUclips and Pinterest have a bunch of videos that show you how you can do so. So if you don’t have an instant pot but you do already have a high quality rice cooker that’s a good option still.
For 6 ppl family yes that is a good list for saving $. We are only 2 so for us most convenient things are ok n they last. It's got to be a big challenge for anyone w such a big family. I don't do name brand anything unless it's truly necessary specially in foods. Good list. Thanks Abbie!
I am so on the same page as you with 90% of this list! I do buy laundry detergent because we have hard water and we are about to start cloth diapering. And I have a rice cooker because we don't eat meat so very, very often we're cooking a stew/curry/soup in the instant pot and simultaneously cooking rice in the rice cooker. Rice cookers can be inexpensive new or used. You don't need a $300 one to get good rice that needs no babysitting.
Great video with so many wonderful tips to save money. With all the wasteful spending happening these days, it's so good to see a someone giving such good advice. Saving money by spending wisely is what I've always tried to do. Ca t wait for the next video with more money saving ideas.
Dryer sheets are like the same purpose as fabric softener… they do the same job is my understanding I have bought a few seasonal Devore but I save it to use each yr.. even if it’s just a plastic decorative item.. I don’t want to do massive decorations and I don’t want to spend money each yr on it…
Abbie, you were speaking my language about the seasonal decor...when you said "I like decorating....no, I think that was false statement...I like the IDEA of decorating.."I laughed out loud because that is totally me. When it comes down to it, I cannot make myself buy decor that only sits out for a little while and then I have to find space to store it🤷♀️ The decor I do have is minimal, which I prefer. It's less to dust😂 Another money saving tip is to not buy frozen/canned biscuits or pancake mix...most people have the ingredients already on hand to make those things, so it's like double buying...completely unnecessary. Just make those things yourself. Thanks for sharing your tips!
All of my decor for seasonal holidays were from dollar tree and I have been making those babies last! Probably spent maybe 40 bucks on both fall and christmas and small things for other holidays and it's going 3 years strong!
Love this! I agree on the small town struggle! My town is 900 lol. How about things like glade plug ins, candles…etc. those are money suckers! But I can’t support Disney now that they are so woke- just not the same anymore :(
Grocery delivery and food delivery isn't an option for me either. I live in a very small town with a local grocery store and the nearest Walmart or large grocery store is at least 30-45 minutes away. I am able to do Walmart pickup once a month, but delivery is not an option for me.
I only buy meat that’s on sale and then I stock up. I try to always buy produce that’s in season or buy frozen. Stretch meat with beans, rice, pasta. All my staples are usually stocked up during sales. If sugar is on sale and cheaper than generic I stock up…..
Abby, you have been getting some mean comments. Im sure thats hard and really hurts. so I want you to know....i appreciate you, i think you are beautiful, intelligen, and so motivating! Thanks for all you do. Also, im sure you already know this...but the ones saying mean things to you. It's their problem, not yours. They have something going on with them that is causing them to act that way. ❤ U! BtW, my baby is 13mo, and I still haven't lost the weight. You're doing great and looking good! Anyone that says different is jealous 😊
Hello, I love the last one. We have a 2004 Chevy Suburban with 275,000 miles and 2001 Buick LeSabre with 140,000 miles. They are great vehicles and I will NOT spend/waste money on a car.payment! Thanks for another great video!
A repairman told me they will ruin your dryer over time; I believe he said it was something in the coating. It is hard for me to remember exactly because I rarely ever used them. I think they must gum up the motor.
I get Ecos laundry detergent when it goes on sale at Costco. My cat almost died when our All laundry soap bottle gave out on the bottom, right in the middle of the walk way to our back door/dog door. I only buy non toxic soap now, and I keep in a glass Mason jar with a pour spout to be even safer. I do occasionally use a little fabric softener on wash rag in the dryer, if I'm having trouble with mildew smell and vinegar didn't take care of it.
This is a good list and I hope some people listen. I think being environmentally friendly is the same sometimes as being frugal. My only points of disagreement are laundry detergent (I agree on the pods) but I just buy on sale at the grocery store half off. I may try the conker recipe at some point. Also, I hosted a grad party with real plates and silverware. Mine are from the thrift store, so I have plenty. I’m still proud of that zero waste grad party.
I’m going to try the laundry detergent. I’m going to stop with the paper plates. My husband uses them in the morning for his fruit but he can use glass and I’ll wash. We don’t do plastic ware or tv services. I’m getting better with the coffees by making mine at home. I was doing decor when we moved into our new house 3 years ago. I’m over it now. I get my books for my e-reader through the library now, free. Store brand food here too. Used vehicles. I’m on the same page as you it seems 😊
I have a rice cooker from 12 years ago that was bought at goodwill. I have used it probably close to 1000 times by now. But I got it because that's exactly what I wanted and an instant pot wasn't a thing / I didn't know about it ❤
I cook my rice in the microwave. Very easy Heat the water for 4-5 minutes on high. Add you rice and stir. Cook covered on 50% power for 20 minutes. Stir to fluff before serving. No having to check if the steam is escaping the lid..
Im chronically ill, when im bad .I go plates plates. Im already suck & feeling really bad, I dont need to stumble around the kitchen putting away clean dishes, while im breathing my sick germs all over the clean!
Cell phone service. I know it depends on area you live (may not get great reception), however we use Cricket and I traveled for my job all over the country and never had issues. $80 for two phones unlimited data. We have iPhones. Cricket uses AT&T towers. We always buy off brand like Great Value brand, Equate, Aldi, etc. Saves a ton of money.
I know I'm not the simplified saver, but I put a portion of my tax refund into a Christmas savings account at my bank each year. They dump the $ from the Christmas account into my checking account in November, but I think there is a penalty if I try to take money out before November.
Abby, I do agree with most of your suggestions. I don’t add to my holiday decor, however, I have been married for 51 years and have acquired more than enough to get by. I have bought new and used cars. The car I have now was new, but it’s paid for and I will drive it for years. My precious car was new, I paid 0% interest for 2 years but than I drove it for 11 additional years and sold it for $4500. Part of the reason for new is, until I retired, I drove from a mountainous rural town 60 miles a day, for work. Mileage and safety played into our decision. But, I we own our house and have never had a mortgage, when we added on, my husband did it and we paid cash. So while I agree and respect your choices and actually follow several of them, we definitely all have to do what works for us. One more suggestion, most libraries are affiliated with Hoopla. It is a free app, that you join via your library card. It has movies, music, book and audiobooks. I love it and save tons of money.
Great video you put together! I agree with your list! Definitely used is the way to go on vehicles. We get the benefit from the person that just has to have the new thing. Great price and almost new....I'll take it any day 😊 I love shopping Goodwill and other consignment shops too! Looking forward to your next video! ❤😊
I buy dryer sheets because they’re supposed to make them less statistic. So far I have to challenge myself a lot because I purchase the first three items whenever we run out. Number 4,5, and 7 I don’t purchase so that won’t challenge me at all. I like drinking coffee but I usually make it at home whenever I want it, sometimes I will get it out but not often maybe once or twice a month. ❤ I don’t have a rice cooker either I have a crockpot, air fryer, and microwave that’s all I need. I don’t do food delivery either if I want something out to eat I will get something close to my house or I will get in my car and drive to it especially when I first get off work. I barely buy fruits and veggies and if I do I will buy them whole and cut them down. I don’t like flowers or books so that’s not hard for me to save on. I love seasonal decor but I will only go to the dollar tree or dollar general somewhere cheap to purchase them. I always purchase store brands stuff in literally everything regardless what it is. I don’t care for name brands in clothes or shoes I will only get it for my husband because he has sensitive skin and can’t wear only kinda of clothes that won’t make him break out. I have the same car that I got when I was 18 and it’s a 2015 still in working condition and I love that car.
Acknowledging that everyone's body is different, but especially if you can get in a daily shower, consider giving up deodorant (even the $11 kind). Most of us are relatively sedentary and don't work up an offensive odor.
I stopped buying dryer sheets because I heard they are bad for the dryer... something about the waxy coating on them. Plus I eliminated fragrance in laundry for my kids with sensitive skin. Love your videos and ideas for scaling back spending!
Their active ingredient is a class of compounds known as quats. They are similar to what’s used in hair conditioners and work the same way. No one complains about them leaving waxy deposits.
Dryer sheets clean off the top of your stove, they clean off pans that have been in the oven and need extra scrubbing without running them, they also can be used as deodorizer in the cushions of your sofa. Also great for cleaning baseboards! Dryer sheets are amazing
I also do do buy dryer sheets. I use dryer balls. I have had the same ones for years. I keep plastic silverware bc I can't trust that my son will bring my home front work but we do not us them everyday. Now if we have a big crowd over which is hardly ever I will pull out these. Sane for paper plates. I'll buy them but use them for when we don't have enough plates for everyone and frankly don't feel like washing all that. Also if I have had a very rough day and haven't kept up on the dishes I'll use them but this is rare. I also do not use swiffer. I have the reusable pads. I also don't have a rice cooker. I don't like buying books either 😂. I agree with the seasonal decor too. As far as the name brand I do like that for winter bc it is usually they are better quality but 99% of my kids clothes come from once upon a child. Many of my items are from platos closet or clothes mentor. I have saved so much money. We also don't do new cars. For the most part we always buy our cars with cash.
Totally agree we never have had a dryer or tv service we have you tube I like to say choose not to buy it. We can afford it but we like to spend our money other ways. It's just the 2 of us but even with 5 of us at home when kids were young I used cloth diapers in the 1980's for both boys 15 months apart and stayed home hung my clothes out to dry but I live in New Mexico 20 miles north of El Paso, Tx.
I buy paper plates for power outages. My husband will use them. I leave gem in the plastic bag and set them under a stack of plates, that way it’s pretty inconvenient to use them, and he usually leaves them alone. 😂
My mom never used dryer sheets either! I think it’s because they were frugal and now I’ve never used them and have never missed them. I know they dust well lol
We are one of the same mind when it comes to seasonal decorations, I’m way to busy to put something out then three weeks later put it away. Lol. Christmas is the only one I put effort in to. 😂😂❤ If I could buy my own used vehicle or someone’s who is like me I’d gladly do used. Lol
if you really want to use seasonal decor. you wait till after the holiday and everything is 50% or 75% off. you buy it for the next year. once you buy it you don't have to buy it again for 10 years or more
If you put up an antenna, you can get free local channels. We always watch the super bowl this way. I live in NE Texas and I get abc, NBC, CBS, fox, and several other channels... like probably 30. There's a kiddo channel too. Pretty sure it's PBS.
It’s crazy I don’t remember your other house at all and I have been following you for a long time and I remember when you moved but I don’t have any recollection of your other house! 😊
i dont use dryer sheets either i dont know what theyre supposed to do either i dont have static in my clothes u can get good plastic utensls from the dollar tree for the kids lunches im the same way with flowers lol agreed on seasonal decor i have a sm apt i have a spot by my door a sign from dollar tree thats it lol we've always had used vehicles great tips!
❤One thing I quit buying is coffee creamer. I learned how to make my own. 1 can sweetened condensed milk, regular milk and a splash of vanilla and mix together. Some ppl like to add half and half or heavy whipping cream but I just go with milk b/c I always have that on hand.

Oh yes sooooo true
I do this too! If I notice we don’t eat the leftovers the 2nd day after it’s been cooked, I freeze it!
We freeze ours in one meal portions. That gives my husband a variety for his lunches. He takes his lunch every day to work.
I use our extras as a freezer meal for my 80 year old mother. She loves them and looks forward to them.
Guilty for loving dryer sheets! The clothes smell so fresh and also without them mine do get very staticky.
Where we live in NC it’s way humid here and so dryer sheets prevent static from being on our clothes out of the dryer. They’re a must for us!
Interesting! I live in a humid area too and have never needed them
I also lived in NC and now OK and we also can’t give up the dryer sheets. I used one this morning on the ends of my hair lol the static was unreal and my hair was sticking to my head. All of our laundry care items are all fragrance and paraben free
That's so interesting. I live in a river basin and near 2 lakes in SC.Average humidity is 85%. I use dryer balls, and static isn't an issue.
I’ve heard of people cutting their dryer sheets in half to make them go further
My money saving thing I’ve practiced lately is buying little to no home decor for fall. I LOVE fall, it’s my favorite season! There’s always second hand and marketplace.
I never buy home decor no matter the season or holiday
Omg..the school book fair..so over-priced and my kids want all the toy junk there as well. No way next year! Lol

I’ve been buying Aldi laundry detergent and I really like it. It’s a lot less expensive than tide, which is my favorite.
I love their detergent too
Very good cost saving video 🌻💛
My few areas where I still soend:
*Laundry detergent (but I buy $Tree)
*Dryer sheets (that static in the winter in clothing & blankets is brutal)
*Seasonal (but have cut way back)
*brands (I check for USA products)
But overall....I've fallen in line with the unnecessary spending several years ago now 💰💰
Love these videos that make you think 🤔 and ideas we can apply!
Thanks so much for watching
I 100% agree with the dryer sheets! I tried to cut them out and two winters ago I would see giant sparks in our blankets. The dryer sheets really cut down on that with our sheets and blankets!
I just use fabric softener in the washer that cuts way back on static cling. I heard the dryer sheets are not good on the dryer
I’m so glad you mentioned the book fair. Ours is UNBELIEVABLY overpriced.
We spend so much money there so I think we’re stopping this year lol I haven’t decided
I agree. The way they promote it, my kids feel bad if they don't get to buy something. That's frustrating. We have so many books, and regularly buy them cheaper elsewhere.

I totally agree about the rice cooker. Rice is the easiest thing to make and all you need is a pot with a lid and a stove.
Yes!
I always use dryer sheets. Everytime I don't, it's the most static clothes ever. I always have thought of using dryer balls and maybe essential oils on it?
My daughter swears by the dryer balls. She uses essential oils on hers.
@kellygreen8255 what kind of essential oils does she put on it?? I don't know anything about them at all
I use dryer sheets. But they have to be a name brand like bounce. The off brand stuff doesn't work the way they need to. They're used for static but also to keep your fabric soft during the drying process. However, I hang most of my clothes. But all of my jeans. Socks and underwear go on the dryer. I need to get better about hanging my clothes to dry
And that $3 drink very economical.
My alani? Lol

Dryer sheets reduces static. I can’t live without dryer sheets. My clothes come out so full of static and cling together.
And paper plates would probably make you go through trash bags more frequently. I don’t use paper napkins just for myself. I keep them on hand for guests. But reusable washcloths are cheaper. 😊Oh yes, I use microfiber cloths for my Swiffer.

Tried Earth Breeze - family of 6 (4 kids and lots of pets). It didn’t even budge most stains. A good idea but it just doesn’t do what I need it to do.
We no longer buy coffee on the go, we brew our own at home… & it tastes much better! Also, I think we’re going to be cutting out paper plates in our household! Thanks for the tips, just started really tightening up with our budget!
I am using washer sheets arm and hammer. It has been wonderful for me. Especially when you have to carry to the basement of complex.
I use the Dollar Tree detergent. I add a small bottle of Tide, from there. It works really well! It's just my Husband and I.
Your hair looks amazing!
Thank you so much
I just wanna add that if you already own a high quality rice cooker there are settings to cook other things. RUclips and Pinterest have a bunch of videos that show you how you can do so. So if you don’t have an instant pot but you do already have a high quality rice cooker that’s a good option still.
Drier sheets/fabric softener... anti static and smell... I use baking soda in last rinse for same purpose...
For 6 ppl family yes that is a good list for saving $. We are only 2 so for us most convenient things are ok n they last. It's got to be a big challenge for anyone w such a big family. I don't do name brand anything unless it's truly necessary specially in foods. Good list. Thanks Abbie!
Thank you ❤️❤️
I have to have dryer sheets. The static they remove us amazing. Fragrances are not harmful unless you are allergic to them.
In addition to eliminating dryer sheets; don't use a dryer. Line dried sheets smell awesome & it helps reduce the electric bill.
Cloth diapers save soooo much money!
Great video with so many wonderful tips to save money. With all the wasteful spending happening these days, it's so good to see a someone giving such good advice. Saving money by spending wisely is what I've always tried to do. Ca t wait for the next video with more money saving ideas.
Dryer sheets are like the same purpose as fabric softener… they do the same job is my understanding
I have bought a few seasonal Devore but I save it to use each yr.. even if it’s just a plastic decorative item.. I don’t want to do massive decorations and I don’t want to spend money each yr on it…
I use dryer sheets in the cold months. They help with static in cold climates. No need in summer!
I use dryer sheets for one blouse that has really bad static and when I wash blankets 😵💫⚡️⚡️
It's less to dust😂
Another money saving tip is to not buy frozen/canned biscuits or pancake mix...most people have the ingredients already on hand to make those things, so it's like double buying...completely unnecessary.
I need Dyer Sheets and they are fragrance free. I can't do static. Cutting the sheets in half is a great idea.
We are Dave Ramsey peeps...used vehicles and pay cash!!!
I only buy meat that’s on sale and then I stock up. I try to always buy produce that’s in season or buy frozen. Stretch meat with beans, rice, pasta. All my staples are usually stocked up during sales. If sugar is on sale and cheaper than generic I stock up…..
Good tips! Thank you
Rice cooker is the one specialized thing to get. Makes rice a ton easier to cook, doubles as a steamer. And they are about $15.
Thank you so much for this. I appreciate your kindness so much ❤️ thank you for being here
I’m a couponed and I love the list. I get laundry for less. I coupon for household items
Hello, I love the last one. We have a 2004 Chevy Suburban with 275,000 miles and 2001 Buick LeSabre with 140,000 miles. They are great vehicles and I will NOT spend/waste money on a car.payment! Thanks for another great video!
Thanks for watching ❤️
New cars are junk anyways not built to last
A repairman told me they will ruin your dryer over time; I believe he said it was something in the coating. It is hard for me to remember exactly because I rarely ever used them. I think they must gum up the motor.
How do you make the liquid laundry soap?
I get Ecos laundry detergent when it goes on sale at Costco. My cat almost died when our All laundry soap bottle gave out on the bottom, right in the middle of the walk way to our back door/dog door. I only buy non toxic soap now, and I keep in a glass Mason jar with a pour spout to be even safer.
I do occasionally use a little fabric softener on wash rag in the dryer, if I'm having trouble with mildew smell and vinegar didn't take care of it.
I use the same one ECOS free and clear love that one so much❤
This is a good list and I hope some people listen.
People use dryer sheets because they soften the items that are in the dryer and also because they stop things from clinging.
I was thinking about paper plates.. maybe I should switch since our water bill is thru the roof.. 25$ is perhaps worth it,?!
Dryer help with static and keeps your clothes from sticking together. I don’t use them with towels. I use scent free.
Good to know
I have a rice cooker from 12 years ago that was bought at goodwill.
I love this! I live in a small town of 6,000 so really can relate to ALL of these. So glad to have found this channel
Cricket is budget brand of ATT same company just the phones are not flashy like att. Douglas tires at Walmart are Goodyear and do the job
Great tips i love your 15 thing not to buy. great video thanks for sharing love you
Can you show how you budget for Christmas for your family
I know I'm not the simplified saver, but I put a portion of my tax refund into a Christmas savings account at my bank each year. They dump the $ from the Christmas account into my checking account in November, but I think there is a penalty if I try to take money out before November.
I’m doing a bad job of it right now
That’s a good idea!
I agree with all 15 tips. Flowers from the Amish auction are inexpensive sometimes.
Did you link the recipe for the laundry detergent?
I basically buy just about everything on this list and we are a family of 5! No wonder we’re struggling 😭
You will save a good amount of money cutting them 😊
My husband and I haven't had a car payment in a very long time. We also buy used cars and not from a dealership.
Thanks for sharing ❤️
Acknowledging that everyone's body is different, but especially if you can get in a daily shower, consider giving up deodorant (even the $11 kind). Most of us are relatively sedentary and don't work up an offensive odor.
Most people shouldn't be sedentary
LOL “stop spending money”
Amen, sister.
I stopped buying dryer sheets because I heard they are bad for the dryer... something about the waxy coating on them. Plus I eliminated fragrance in laundry for my kids with sensitive skin. Love your videos and ideas for scaling back spending!
Thanks for sharing! I have heard that about dryer sheets too
Their active ingredient is a class of compounds known as quats. They are similar to what’s used in hair conditioners and work the same way. No one complains about them leaving waxy deposits.
I use woolite dryer balls. They last very long. No chemicals and no scent.
Dryer sheets clean off the top of your stove, they clean off pans that have been in the oven and need extra scrubbing without running them, they also can be used as deodorizer in the cushions of your sofa. Also great for cleaning baseboards! Dryer sheets are amazing
Never thought about laundry detergent. I'm 100% gonna try it.
I look forward to watching your video I can't wait
You can remove the static from your clothes by running a clean (not rusty) wire hanger over them.
Use dryer wool balls to replace dryer sheets.
If you can't give up using dryer sheets, cut them in half. I've found half a sheet in plenty for my load of laundry
That’s a good too! Thank you!
What do y'all do for internet access ? Great video !! I am process of making cloth napkins because the price is getting outta this world.
I buy paper plates for power outages. My husband will use them. I leave gem in the plastic bag and set them under a stack of plates, that way it’s pretty inconvenient to use them, and he usually leaves them alone. 😂
Love and respect your advise lady! Hope you have a good day!!
Thank you! You too!
My mom never used dryer sheets either! I think it’s because they were frugal and now I’ve never used them and have never missed them. I know they dust well lol
Dryer sheets, statuc cling& fragrance.
We are one of the same mind when it comes to seasonal decorations, I’m way to busy to put something out then three weeks later put it away. Lol. Christmas is the only one I put effort in to. 😂😂❤
If I could buy my own used vehicle or someone’s who is like me I’d gladly do used. Lol
Way too busy to decorate lol
I use dryer balls drys my clothes faster too
if you really want to use seasonal decor. you wait till after the holiday and everything is 50% or 75% off. you buy it for the next year. once you buy it you don't have to buy it again for 10 years or more
I find some of our clothes have static without dryer sheets.
Hi.. You are just too good. I love your videos
Can you please make a video on decluttering and organizing? Would love to see that 🙏🏼👌🏼
I NEED that laundry soap recipe!!! Please 🙏
Coming soon!
If you put up an antenna, you can get free local channels. We always watch the super bowl this way. I live in NE Texas and I get abc, NBC, CBS, fox, and several other channels... like probably 30. There's a kiddo channel too. Pretty sure it's PBS.
Yes! This is how I grew up!
Propganda and brainwashing
It’s crazy I don’t remember your other house at all and I have been following you for a long time and I remember when you moved but I don’t have any recollection of your other house! 😊
i dont use dryer sheets either i dont know what theyre supposed to do either i dont have static in my clothes u can get good plastic utensls from the dollar tree for the kids lunches im the same way with flowers lol agreed on seasonal decor i have a sm apt i have a spot by my door a sign from dollar tree thats it lol we've always had used vehicles great tips!
Dryer sheets and fabric softener are useless in my opinion! I'm going to try your detergent recipe.
