    Ive integrated a lot of Coach Shepards information into the Pole Vault run up and take off. Corrected many of the overhead issues with young athletes.... Presented some things to other coaches at the pole Vault Summit this weekend and startled quite a few people...

      Thanks, coach! Could you let me know what you think has been of particular value? I've often thought that pole vaulters should work more with jumpers (or adopt more practises ... I'm sure this does happen). Learning to use the hips to run would seem a fundamental due to the need to carry the pole. All the best,

      Really you add some into the latter stages IoW your warm-up or within a plyometric unit. 👍🏽🙏🏽

    How do you jump with ankle dorsiflexion?

      You need a toes up position when you strike the board. The ankle extends thereafter. If you are toes down on plant then the ankle will collapse and power will be lost. Think this is what you are referring to.
