If you're seriously looking into getting one, don't get one of the newer ones. Go for something like a 740 turbo or an 850 turbo/T-5/R. I have an 850 myself. Might not look like anything special, but they go like hell. And they sound the deal too, with a masterpiece of an inline 5.
dont. they burning the fuel to fast. dont spend time wasting gas money on them:/ and if there is a problem fixed. you get another problem, and another. and another...
Nicolai Riasaka I'm done buying used vehicles. I'm 30 years old, and a single father of 3. I have to think about resale value and reliability, which you don't get with normal used vehicles. That being said, I don't have the expebdable funds to spend on anything this expensive for the purposes of fun (I'd have a Nissan Stagea if I did). At this price range I'd be looking at an ***** FJ Cruiser Trail Teams edition, or a fully loaded ***** Outlander Sport for my needs. The Polestar is certainly awesome, and Volvo's essentially build indestructible cars, but you can have a LOT more vehicle for the money the V60 lists for.... Not including insane dealer markup.
Great video! Really enjoyed it. Being a Swede i can tell you that Volvo is a car company that dominates our car market. It's great and long lasting quality, you get alot for your money where you'd have to spend a fortune to a German car, they look decent and they are very cheap to run. Iv'e never owned a Volvo, only Audi that's what i drive but i am proud that Volvo is a Swedish company, certainly a brand that will grow alot in the future.
My uncle had a Volvo 850R back in the late 90's and that was a fast car. With nothing more than a chip and basic upgrades it was faster than most things on the street and surprisingly quick of the line. Until then I never considered Volvo's to be sporty.
The only garage in the world that has nearly 1million subscribers...WOW! Nice car btw, I don't like the V50 or the V70 ....but this V60 looks really cool & I'd love to drive one of those one day..
This video is awesome. As a father of a seven year old girl, four year old boy, and an automotive nut, my kids love my modified cars and bikes. When I sold my modified Passat wagon in favor of a Mazda 5 automatic my kids upset until I lowered it, put rims on it and a body kit. But my daughter would say, "daddy the Mazda looks good, but the VW was a lot faster". When I turned 40 this year I treated myself to a 2014 GTI. A little suspension work, an exhaust and a tune, all is right with the world again. :-)
Big fan of the Volvo V60. I plan on buying new in the fall and I have been driving alot of cars, but the V60 is my favorite. The last time I took one for a test drive the salesman was getting angry with me because I would not go back to the dealership right away and drove him around for a half hour. Nice car.
I know tones of my friends who love cars truly. Many times kids say that they like cars but when you ask them their favourite car they say a Bugatti Veyron because it's the fastest but that would of course be a Hennessy Venom GT or Koenigsegg. They might also say that cool car from James Bond. It's fine that they like these cars but true car lovers enjoy more specialist cars than that. Anyway my point is there is kids who like cars and there is kids who love them. There is many of both and the car passion from kids still lives on. I remember getting into an Aventador roadster once, as I opened the door I just thought, this is AWESOME. That was a similar experience to Jay's and I was very fortunate it to that. Sorry for the comment length. Keep up the good work all car lovers. :)
Kids definitely still love cars. I'm 18, but I can remember being in a school bus at the age of 8 or 9, on the way to a school trip and passing by the Lamborghini showroom in London. The bus erupted with shouts and cheers from my fellow class mates. Top gear is also hugely popular with kids, and that was part of what started it for me. Where it all started though was when I was 5, I had a red BMW push car that you sat on and it had a horn and you pushed it along with your feet, I loved it until my younger brother got one too, so I crudely taped a Ferrari badge on top of the BMW badge and all of a sudden I was cooler than him again. Kids are definitely interested in cars, can anyone say their passion started after they grew up?
When i was younger we had a dealership as neigbours and they had a few Diablos, Ferraris, Porsche 959 preplica! I went in there a few times to drool for sure :)
When I was in Junior High school there was a shop across the street from my school called Drag Specialties. What a cool place! They had dragsters and funny cars for sale there on display, and sold parts for the same. This was in Minnesota, not California! The two places I hung out were there and at Cycle World, a bicycle shop that had high end bicycles for sale. That was kitty corner from my High School. I didn't buy my bike there, but I did buy a fair amount of Campagnolo gear there and 130 psi silk cord tires (pre-Kevlar).
I'm 18 now can be a lover of car for as long a I can remember by the time I was 6/8 I was out a raves on the weekend., watching GP on tv and at Silverstone. Cars will never be boring to me.
SUPERB! Very clever, classy and enormous fun! Jay's facial expressions were perfect...and a fun bit of "change of pace (...if it is a Volvo commercial...why worry about such??). However, I'm wondering, did you beat your lap time, vs/ when you drove a "reasonably priced car" (if so, by how much?). It would have been fun to see the Top Gear guys, doing the same "road trip to school, in a bit of "competition"...even in the same cars.
I love Jay Leno's garage because its real no bs about cars. I do feel a little insulted by this *very* thinly veiled Volvo staged commercial because it doesn't belong here.
I'm 15 right now and I've loved cars since idk, I was almost born in 1978 Chevy Camaro z28 and one day a car caught my eye a ford mustang shelby gt 500 at age 6, I researched all about the car I fell in love with it, one day in 5 grade I went on a field trip to a beach and there was a car show, everybody went to see the tuners and all those fancy cars but I was the only one who went to she all the classics and everybody just looked at me strangely and then i realized, kids don't know what a real car is, now when I'm on the road, I look out the window and try to spot the most amazing things on the planet real cars That most people don't know have huge potential in our world
I like the different approach the channel is taking..try new things until something sticks. The main thing is that Jay cares and is spreading the passion for cars. Thanks for that Jay
Wow although I’m strictly American made cars......well I WAS nothing but American made cars i now a Volvo Polestar like this with the same color and that awesome power...those boys must have been thrilled for Mr Leno to have gave them a ride like that...I know my girls when they were that young didn’t like to go fast anytime...I took my 3 eldest daughters for a ride first when I first got my ‘73 Camaro which if you blinked you’d miss seeing it coming and they had a fit just going 65 on the freeway....so then I took my other 3 daughters for the same ride and it ended up the same...none of the six girls liked going fast even on the freeway...I don’t know why because me or my wife never had a accident or even a close call that would scare them...but my 2 nephews who were around the same age LOVED it...they kept yelling faster faster...well it must be a girl boy thing...not all but most...
And nothing Odd about and Old White Haired Man with a moon head picking you up for school? That is the part that cracks me up, Lets just hop into some strange mans car for a ride to school then not go to school.
I'm 15 and I love cars. If I could have every car that has 8 cylinders or more, I would. It would also be a dream if you drove me to school in your P1. Thanks uncle jay!
That was cool. When I was a kid my moms boy friend had a at the time a new 69 Corvette,I had 3 4barrel carbs. Only two were hooked up. Eddie hit the gas I had a smile that was a mile long !
On the one hand I was glad to see some footage of the S60 Polestar. In wagon form it's one hell of a sleeper. I hope that when I'm ready to sell my S60R I'll be able to afford one. On the other hand, I wish this had been a regular episode of Jay Leno's Garage rather than what basically amounts to an advertisement.
1.I'm 14 and I'm very interesting in cars and everything that drives, flies, rides. 2. I love Top Gear. 3. I literally shouted "and across the line!" when Jay Leno crossed finish line lol
Great story! Damn decent of Jay to play along. I knew a kid who said that a particular HOF NFL player was a close relative, and by golly the QB played along. Love the cut to BBC Top Gear. One long drive to London from LA and back.
Jay, Great video. When it started, I could smell Top Gear, just by how the video was edited. And then you drove onto the track. ... Loved it !!!! This is what the US version of top gear needs, you as a host or at least a guest host. Thank you for continuing to entertain.
He is quite capable. Not at a professional level, but way better than the average car guy. I have seen several videos of him on several different tracks herding some rather fast cars and doing a very respectable job. Try viewing the McLaren series.
Loved this video Jay! That's a good question.! I take my 12 year old boy to car shows his eyes light up and gets big with excitement ... But then he says stuff like a car is just a car!
Yes Jay, it is possible to interest kids in cars still. I hope. Unless I'm the only 15 year old that really knows what he's talking about when it comes to cars...
Nice !! I have the Volvo xc70 T6. Higher ground clearance and more functional off road. I love the car !!! Hey Jay, Can you give me a ride to school ??? LOL
A Volvo with Swedish plates, driven by an american in the UK. Fascinating!
.... And now I want a Volvo.
GuitarInferno I've been driving enormous SUVs for a long time now. Mostly with V8s. Gas mileage doesn't scare me.
Nicolai Riasaka I'm done buying used vehicles.

fair enough. but believe me when i say malfunction is a big problem with these vehicles:/
Great video! Really enjoyed it. Being a Swede i can tell you that Volvo is a car company that dominates our car market. One of the best things Jay has ever done! A fine bit of Volvo advertising, and genuinely hilarious! Thank you for making work on a Friday worth it.

So Jay Leno is the Stig.

That's why I admire you Sr. You are a good soul. God bless you
SUPERB!
Very clever, classy and enormous fun!

Oh come on it was light hearted and awesome! I mean you could argue it's a Top Gear advertisement as well....
I kind of felt the same, however, I think he mitigated it by making it clear that it was an ad.
Didn't feel that way at all! I guess you guys can't appreciate a good story without analyzing it. Too many analytics classes?
Nope. Just enough analytic training.
GunFun ZS How was it clear this was an ad before you watched it?
I'm 15 right now and I've loved cars since idk, I was almost born in 1978 Chevy Camaro z28 and one day a car caught my eye a ford mustang shelby gt 500 at age 6, I researched all about the car I fell in love with it, one day in 5 grade I went on a field trip to a beach and there was a car show, everybody went to see the tuners and all those fancy cars but I was the only one who went to she all the classics and everybody just looked at me strangely and then i realized, kids don't know what a real car is, now when I'm on the road, I look out the window and try to spot the most amazing things on the planet real cars That most people don't know have huge potential in our world
This is a great addition to Jay Leno's Garage. Every now and then throw in a little classic Tonight Show with Jay Leno shtick.
I like the different approach the channel is taking..try new things until something sticks. The main thing is that Jay cares and is spreading the passion for cars. Thanks for that Jay
Jay Leno is our Jeremy Clarkson, two all time great enthusiasts!

Cool move picking the kid up in the lambo. Something only Leno would do and love doing. Hats off to you.
My Volvo is almost this old now, it's a V70 and it's *chef kiss'
LOL, this one had me in stitches. Another wonderful episode.
I hope this means Jay is back on Top Gear in the new reasonably priced ar
i just bought a 98 S70 T-5
nice car. i do like the styling of the newer ones but they are a bit out of my budget.
John Chu
When they have a good guest, it's one of the best bits!
Polestars ARE not cheap...more expensive than a Mercedes!
I hope he goes on Top Gear America...AS THE HOST
maybe then i will watch
I'm 15 and I love cars. If I could have every car that has 8 cylinders or more, I would. It would also be a dream if you drove me to school in your P1. Thanks uncle jay!
Polestar are awesome! I love the blue they use!
That was cool. When I was a kid my moms boy friend had a at the time a new
69 Corvette,I had 3 4barrel carbs. Only two were hooked up. Eddie hit the gas I had a smile that was a mile long !
I am not sure if that counts as a reasonably priced car?
Hope this is a hint to Jay guesting Top Gear again.
That would be awesome.
Jay Leno + Top Gear = Perfection
« No texting it’s dangerous » today 15inch screen in middle of cars 🤣
On the one hand I was glad to see some footage of the S60 Polestar. In wagon form it's one hell of a sleeper. I hope that when I'm ready to sell my S60R I'll be able to afford one. Double denim. I admire his bravery.
What an awesome story for the kid to tell forever. Cool on Jay's part too.
thanks Jays, always glad to see your posts!! thank you enjoy the time!!
Anyone else notice he's in England? Come on - he's not at Dunsfold sight seeing, is he?
1:50 .... .... Cool! Love his humour
Actually Jay is MY uncle. :)
Brilliant! Jay over in Blighty too. Volvo is my favourite brand always 👍🏼😎
Congratulations on your new award Jay!!!
Very cute! What a reminder about the importance of remembering that the kid in us is a live and well.
Awesome video Jay. I think the Video are getting better and better since you left the show. Keep it UP.
Jay,
Great video. When it started, I could smell Top Gear, just by how the video was edited. And then you drove onto the track. ... Loved it !!!!
This is what the US version of top gear needs, you as a host or at least a guest host.
Thank you for continuing to entertain.
I did not realize Jay was such an accomplished driver.
He is quite capable.
Not at a professional level, but way better than the average car guy.
I have seen several videos of him on several different tracks herding some rather fast cars and doing a very respectable job.
Try viewing the McLaren series.
Nah man, it's the stig
The stig with a wig?
Stigwig!
Thanks Jay, you are the coolest uncle IN THE WORLD!
I'd love to see more collaborations with Top Gear and Jay. Jay would be perfect for the American Top Gear IMO.
Such a cool video Jay!
I thought you were in America...Until I realized you were 10 minutes away from my house...haha!!!
yup.. i still think about tim allens LT5 IMPALA... since the first day i saw it on TV ...
Love Jays beautiful red 1976 MV Augusta 750 in the background.
Best Volvo commercial ever! :D
"And across the line !"
2:26 - 3:15 Where do you think you are? You did it 0 minutes and 47 seconds, our fastest time ever!
My 3-year-old watches Top Gear with me and on weekends, asks if any races are on TV. Le Mans weekend was my house's quietest weekend in years.
That story about the uncle and the countach was best part of the video
Yes I think they do Because cars are just something that is going to influence everyone no matter the age
i'm wondering if we will see Jay Leno on a new season of top Gear doing the star in a reasonably priced car, since he was already there..lol
3:09 ... and the kid is still using the iPad.
i know. at that point i would have been telling him to go faster :P
Lawrence Timme I would've been doing everything in my power to get the kid to hurl :P not your car to have to clean up
Love Jay and cars...heck anything with wheels!!
Awesome Jay! One of your best videos ever! That Volvo scoots along really nice!
Left hand drive on the Top Gear test track. Fun stuff.
Such a great video!!! I think kids will always love cars
Jay at his very best.
kids in san marino love cars. cars are still a huge deal to us.
omg .. that was so cool! .. loved the look after he said 4wd and 300+ hp :)
Oh my god watch out for that horn at the end!
Jay, I love your channel and your passion for cars. You are one lucky man!
Cheers,
-Matthew
Really good episode Jay, gave me a giggle.
Nice volvo ad. :)
I don't need a Volvo even though I love it ,What I want is Jay Leno as my Uncle !
I would happily have this over a Audi S4, just so different & I think that makes it cool, plus I love the colour
Love the Videos from Jay's garage. Keep 'em coming.
I had fun on this one, pretty funny skit.
Jay, I love your videos. You make me feel like a kid again. I miss you on the tonight show.
Loved this video Jay! That's a good question.! I take my 12 year old boy to car shows his eyes light up and gets big with excitement ... But then he says stuff like a car is just a car!
Yes Jay, I think I'm the coolest guy in the world when I drive my FRS.
Aha. I loved how Jay was making these smirking faces as he was racing around the track. c;
OH Jay the life you live ...too cool man !!!
Best drive to school ever.
Don't buy your kids tablets and smartphones - buy a Volvo Polestar ! Love the message :D
So... Leno is gonna be on the next season of Top Gear again... must be cause he's driving their track.
Yes Jay, it is possible to interest kids in cars still. I hope. Unless I'm the only 15 year old that really knows what he's talking about when it comes to cars...
Best video yet, Jay...
next season of Top Gear, Jay drives the affordable car I guess...
I wish Mr.Jay Leno was my uncle. Darn kids back in good era. Please Mr.Jay Leno if you see this comment drive me to school one day.
Best episode ever.
