    Covering the tracks in mud to hide the lack of tracks detail... what a unusual concept... never heard of it before...

    Probably my favourite Rubicon kit so far. Can't wait for their SU-100 add-on to finally get a superheavy AT gun in my BA Soviets :D They're also doing a better track set for the T-34s as well, so that'll be a welcome addition.

      I'd be keen to check out the better track sets. Probably not of much use to people with already painted tracks... but definitely worth looking at.
      I didn't know there was going to be an SU-100 add on. But I'm keen for that.

      Sadly both are resin kits, but resin's better than nothing!

    Hey Herb. Ok I ordered the kit today along with there Russian tank riders and crew figures. I mentioned that I saw your video and that’s why I’m ordering the kit. Hope you get some cudos from them. But here’s the real reason I’m writing this. I ordered this kit mainly for the turret ring that comes on the road will sprue. I have the T 34-41 kit which comes with the cast turret or the welded turret But ,there is only one turret ring in that kit ,so by ordering this kit I now can put a turret ring on that other turret.now I have a cast turret it as-well as a welded turret my T 34.Thanks for bringing to my attention that the track sprue is the same as the T 34 kit, as one doesn’t need a turret for this kit I know have a extra turret ring.

    why arent the parts included to build an SU-100?! i mean, its basically another gun and a third casemate bit.. oh well.. it looks pretty cool anyway :)

      Good question. I guess they didn't really have enough space on the sprue.
      They're doing a SU-100 expansion as someone said, but it's resin... I haven't seen any of Rubicon's resin yet, so it might be good. I'd much prefer to have it in plastic though.

      How did the SU-100 casemate differ? I thought the only way to tell was the length of the gun.

    • @boerharms2209
      @boerharms2209 6 лет назад

      look up pictures online, the SU-100 has a big cilindrical part with the cupola on top in the side of the casemate, whearas the su-85´s side of the casemate is flat. The commander needed to move off to side because the breech and recoil of the 100mm gun was greater than that of the 85mm

    Nice build Herb 👍. Hey is it shooting at Germans in a tree?

      They thought they were so clever to hide in a tree.

    What's with the odd scale? Surmise they are tabletop wargaming orientated miniatures?

    Why do you not paint the models?

    • @HerbertErpaderp
      @HerbertErpaderp  6 лет назад +2

      I do paint the models. I do one painting video a month.
      I like to make weekly videos. The main reason I don't build and paint in the same video is because I don't have time. You probably underestimate how much time it actually takes to make these videos. Painting would add at least 15 hours (usually way more) to the time it takes to make the video. I suppose it could be done faster, but considering I don't get much out of it other than a nicely painted model it's not worth rushing and ending up with a paint job I don't like.
      Also, combining building and painting would be effectively robbing myself of views. I obviously want more views rather than less. So I'd be doing significantly more work for less. In that regard it's absolutely not worth the extra time and added stress to get something painted every week.
      From my perspective one painting video a month is more than enough.

      Fair enough. I apologize if my tone was rude - I'm actually a huge fan!
