This one is in the mail, and I can't wait for it to arrive. Your video is of little help in terms of hype alleviating. Other than that, it's excellent, thank you !
In case you care, I'm pretty sure the part the gun is mounted on (mantlet-surroundy part) is called the mantlet and the part that is mounted on the gun barrel is a gun shield. They're both just called the mantlet though.
@@HerbertErpaderp What I'm prepared to state for certain is that any part of armor that covers the hole made for the gun in the turret or casemate is called the mantlet, even if it is recessed like here or bulbous like in the hetzer.
Thr little hatch on the back is, indeed, for both throwing out spent casings, passing in fresh casings, and yelling at jerks on the engine deck about your cool MP40.
So for a modeller.. would you say these or Warlord/BA are better in detailing? I have found a website offering both and i want to buy TD+King Tiger + infantry for a diorama and im wondering about most suitable kits.
I would say they're around the same. If you're looking for diorama pieces and are worried about detail though I would suggest display models rather than gaming ones. Tamiya's 1:48th scale stuff is pretty good and fairly close in size.
Herbert Erpaderp Great, i never get notified when someone replies to me :( Have looked - seems my luck has betrayed me as there are literally no 1:48 kits in my country And 5 1/56 so UK it is..free shipping is nice.
Not a whole lot, really... Different gun/mantlet. gun cleaning kit on the engine deck instead of the side. Different fans and hatches on the casemate. Probably a couple of other small things. There was probably internal changes on the real thing I would imagine.
@@HerbertErpaderp One of those small things is the tools were mounted on the back not the sides of the G2. The G2 also had that extra storage box that you included on the back and the G1 did not.Oh and also one detail that I wouldn't consider as little is that zimmerit was applied on almost all the G1's Thanks for the review as I have not built a Rubicon kit before.
Once made a Zvezda Jagdpanther. Mould and fitting was meh. The tracks were the worst. They Just wouldn’t freggin Bend! ( they were made from this weird vinyl rubber thing) And Since the Sprocket had slight play in them, the Track Didn’t Fit in The slots. Had to cut some Teeth from the Sprocket.

Interesting. Usually the mantlet isn't so recessed, so I figured it might be a different thing.
@@HerbertErpaderp The fixed part is the Casemate. The mantlet is the part attached to the barrel.

@@rastas3742 "Casemate" in regards to armored fighting vehicles refers to tanks that have no turret, not to the gun mount itself.
Das ist gut Herbert I’m sure it will jagd many a panzer
Still the sexiest armored vehicle of WW2.
I can finally make the triple jagdpanther army for operation Market Garden. Great video
Hell yeah
Hey Herb! I’m so going to buy this kit because of this video. I will tell Rubicon I saw your video and you motivated me to buy this kit. Now paint it!
I will. Eventually.
Herb Jesus is coming back...............................Eventually.
FINALLY WE GOT THE VIDEO
Looks good Herbert

Because it is a german tank you can hide the tracks not only in mud but in Sauerkrait too.
another great vid, really enjoying them :-)
looks good as post will see harrbbyy
How does this scale with the Italeri/Warlord Panther kit? Here Im thinking hull length and width.

I thought the lower hull plate went with the lower hull cup and saucer.
Wonderfull
What is the difference between G1 and G2?

How many people stopped the video to read the historical background?
"...there's not much sense in looking backwards..." waiting for joke about Italian tanks.....
hehe shooty stick
Not trying to be insulting but why do you have hair in your hands and fingers
