Beautiful subwoofer backed by a monster innovator in subwoofers here in the last 15 solid years, and you seem to be extremely knowledgeable. Keep going, let the hate fuel the success
It's been like this for decades. I was heavy into the mobile scene up until about 2005 (so awhile ago), but it's always been the same. Most of the time you're dealing with kids and brokeasses, so quality takes a backseat to low cost, what some rapper mentioned in a song, or a "free" install.
I’ve learned it doesn’t matter how many times you tell someone something that it’s not rattling or the noise isn’t from the subs but you will always have people complaining
People are Complaining about the rattling, it doesn't matter to the listener where it comes from, but if you are turning the volume up, then you best locate and dampen that rattling. You might aswell just listen to planes taking off,
@@SparkedEd I can’t film anything for anyone without someone saying the subs sound awful whenever my doors are about to fall off even tho I mentioned it first hand lmao oh well
I love the retro look. I miss how awesome some of the old school car audio subwoofers and amplifiers looked and sounded. It’s nice to see something like this being made today. Great job
Addressing haters is a waste of time because idiots never appreciate. In business, in relationships, in life. Your subs are beautiful, little sexy things. Thank you for the video.
It's always hilarious to me when I see people spend thousands on a sound system only for it to be mediocre at best, then someone with a little knowledge comes with a cheap chinese speaker and a box made from scraps and absolutely blows shit out of the water
That nice blue surround on that sub is so nice when you had that working on the table it is so effortless so smooth and this is a prototype I think I'm loving this design more than my 12w7
The physical shaking of the woofer in free air (not an enclosure), sitting on a compliant surface like foam, comes from the motor imparting a force to the moving components of the speaker, and an equal-and-opposite reaction force being put into the structure of the speaker. The reason the frame and magnet don't shake even more is that they have a much larger mass, and F=ma so the visible movement comes from the "a" term, which is the acceleration from that reaction force "F", which is going to be much smaller if the mass "m" is larger.
Your product look supernice, and love the color on the surround as well, It is nice to see something different out there. Also a great explained video to those who need that extra input.
One thing I wish Apple never did was stop using the QuickTime format for recording videos. Instead of individual frames, it was like every frame was blended into the next for smooth recording. Look up iPhone inside a guitar for an example. Anyway, it's good to see someone producing something that isn't cookie cutter in appearance or performance, and innovation in the field is still alive and well.
Here's the problem, it's going to be the exact same kind of people that think every blurry video of some random thing in the sky is therefore an alien space craft, because they do not understand cameras, and are essentially 100% fooled, every single time, by the very most basic video artifacts and lens artifacts out there. From dealing with those people I know they aren't there to actually learn the truth, so since they simply do not care, they will continue to misunderstand everything, no matter how much you explain it, mostly because they're not going to watch this video. This means the best thing you can do to prevent dumb comments, is add in short slow motion clips, that are not just slowed down normal video, but actual slow motion video, filmed at a higher fps. The added fps means these artifacts will only be visible at higher frequencies, so especially for subs, it will show what is actually happening much more accurately, and you won't get these artifacts that are causing these dumb comments. The slow motion will actually show these people what's happening, so they don't even need to understand it. The issues here also aren't just software anti vibration or image stabilization, that may be part of it, I have no idea what you're filming with of course, but it's much more likely caused by some combination of the rolling shutter effect, and other frame per second vs vibrations per second correlations, that typically make spinning things appear to freeze or wildly distort on video, as their rotational speed goes in and out of phase with the frame rate. I don't know exactly what the effect is called for specifically linear vibrations being misrepresented, but it is simply an effect of fps first, and a software related image filtering problem 2nd. Short answer, these people are commenting on a whim and likely won't understand anyways, so they're not worth your time, slow motion video, even just low quality 240fps video from a phone, could fix the issue entirely while also being insightful to your normal audience as well.
Spend your time and energy on bass and bass specific products. Negative energy will only get in your way. Ps keep up the epic videos and the project looks great 👍🏻

I don't know of any other hobby with as much misinformation, unfounded opinions, brand-loyalty, false perceptions and the blind leading the blind as car audio. That being said, none of those things matter to me whatsoever. Can't wait to see these woofers out in the wild. I wish you all the success with these and all your endeavors.

Perhaps we need to consider that they are not ready to comprehend sound processing has come a long ways since my first interest in car audio in late nineties, where a tone (white noise) is used with a real time analyzer to set a equalizer. So I just got on your website and looked at this sub. Mainly because the loudest two 12 setup I've ever owned was audiobahn 12's. They look good. Strong motors. The only thing keeping me from purchasing one is the sensitivity. Definitely not the sensitivity of a 90's sub. If it were 86 or higher I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
There is a 3 way balance, called Hofmann's Iron Law, with sensitivity, Fs, and enclosure volume. You can only have 2 be good at a time. Sensitivity does not actually inform on how loud a woofer might get or how much power it might use, just a low power transfer of energy through the cone. We chose a low Fs and small enclosure volume.
absolutely beautiful sub, if you could do them in different colors other than just blue that's a big selling point also could color match with my car and amp, i love everything about what you are doing man keep it up

I need that Sundown X voice coil for a v2 18 please! Seriously though, I'm at the point in life to not entertain the comments that have zero merit on a subject. In the early days of youtube I'd have people telling me I wired subs wrong because the potato camera picked up the movement a little different between a pair. Or that I was under powering subs because they were not moving very far on camera. The better one was when I would be told I bridged a single monoblock amplifier wrong, and even though I explained the ++ / - - speaker terminals were parallel internally and the amp was not bridgeable because it was a real mono amp, the extra terminals were for wiring convenience, I was still called an idiot and I bridged it wrong, lol. It's a losing battle arguing with people like this, or even wasting your time responding. You can't escape nonsensical / lack of knowledge comments, but I suppose they can spark a topic for discussion / teaching, and that can be okay at times.
Never argue with dumb people. They will drag you to their level and beat you with experience.

43mm based on the coil colliding with the back plate.
When you try to argue or reason with idiots, you stoop down to their level...
AMEN!
Looks like a sundown/audiobahn hybrid.
wow, someone has to justify themselves.
After 15 years as a car hi-fi installer I can say
That ALL car hi-fi manufacturers ONLY COOK WITH WATER! And there are few who reinvent the wheel! Nice Woffer, greetings from Germany
I feel like the comment was a troll well done lol.
he is not a bass guy who made that comment I don't think he never seen a distortion of the cameras in bass demos like yours and EXOContraltos videos
