I posted about this LIVE on my instagram channel earlier. Smoke was still in the air and stinking up my shop! Catch my daily live feeds way before it hit's youtube! follow me at instagram.com/meade916/ - thanks for watching!
Really have to give props to that Frankensoundqubed sub. She was eating for a bit. I bet if that bad girl was in a nice sealed box, it would have slapped hard as hell.
12:18 you hear real joy in Steve’s heart. You can tell he loves his job and we should all be so lucky. MA audio is decent in my books now that I saw that
From the looks of the hand writing I think it was a young fan of yours Steve. Although my hand writing is awful and I’m nearly 40 👀. Would be nice if you did a recone on that sub and gave the fan a message in a video to come pick his sub up 👍🏻 must be a subscriber of yours
Waste of a monzter. Would have liked to have HEARD it once in a good enclosure. Probably would have re-arranged your furniture in there! An amazing speaker! Hell of a heatsink/magnet on that thing! ..... You have some 'LOVELY' tools in there! As usual, great vid!
I know you love what you do you can tell in your projects. The workmanship you put into it shows that you love it. I hope to open a shop myself one day that's my dream to what u love car audio and customization.
At the end in slow motion you can see the woofer lock and hold at the top and bottom of the stroke, which would tell me that you pushed the amp into clipping. The sub died from D.C.
That was fun! Thanks for this one, Steve. Maybe there will be more "gifts" at your door. Be cool to get a challenge going or something. The woofer that takes the most power at 8 hz for 5-10 seconds wins a little prize? Epic vid.
The magnet and motor belong to an old ma audio synergy series woofer from around 2002-2003. I was sponsored by ma audio back in the day. Edit: They were made by Aruba just like Audiobahn and Visonic.
@@whytboysam9467 I think for most bass lovers, which is what I am, the fun is in listening to good bass. For people who would rather break stuff, I see your point. In this case, I believe Steve has built the majority of his audience from car audio fans. Most of which probably cringe at the end of this video.
Hey steve nice video. I really have mixed emotions about this, nice to see the limits of efficiency playing it hard, but sadly that was it's last work. anyway, nice video again. I would like to rebuild that. thank's for sharing.
That's funny that just happened because if anyone is part of car audio classified groups on Facebook, the group "Soundqubed only" has ppl asking when they're going to be back in stock most of their lines are discontinued and I've never seen that model. This could be foreshadowing
Absolutely. Very high quality motor structure and suspension. That's why you need the coil to run out of magnetic circuit sooner than where the suspension movement range ends....
Also I hear you playing that classic Mac Mall telly haven't heard that in a while either even though I'm from the Midwest do know the classics from the West Coast
Yo I drive a semi and would like a system but not connected to the batteries for the truck. Reason is the computer is sensitive to power draws. I would like to hook it up to the power inverter in the truck. I need to run a whole system (deck & amps). One 200 - 400 watts for subs and 100+ watts for (2 or 4) 6x9's. Do you think you could help with something like this?
I think you should test them in a box I mean it's your video you can do it ever you want but as a car installer I would like to at least have seen what it could have done in a box.

meade916 ZIP CORD FAR WIN
disect the sub show us whats inside
That’s kind of creepy somebody snooping around your shop
Richard Card spoiling? He just dropped it off! 🤦♂️
Snooping?
I say recone it, and invite whoever dropped it off to come check it out lol

2kw for a woofer to cook at 8hz free air 😮 props to whoever built it.
Thanks much 🤘
I agree to that's a tough sub
Y'all should do a miniseries called "woofer cook wednesday"(;

Recone with bigger stronger soft parts. Would be a cool project Frankenstein sub for the channel!

I love how you panned around it endlessly, showing it off as if it was a brand new $10k sub.
right as you turned up the volume on 24 hz my washing machine started shaking my house at the same time. LOL
Blowing smoke rings....hurts the eyes both from laughter and smoke...haha
Only true audiophiles understand the lamp cord!
I'm running 16awg Lamp wire in both my home surround sound systems for 11years now. They sound amazing.

damn that's 2500 free air, imagine what it would to in a box!
Nobody does it better and with such style I learn alot here, thanks for sharing Steve.
He didn't lie it took over 1500 Watts.
Making smoke rings, have you found out who dropped it off? Nice!
Welp time to do what everyone else does and put it on Craigslist as a “almost new sub “for sale cheap!
I got to take my hat off to that woofer it stayed in the game longer than I thought. Cool video and that slow motion is the shit.
Your boy's tracks are straight fire my dude
hell ya. I can't wait to get our SMD Bassheads Slapper CD produced! We have about 40 tracks and they are ALL heat! Thanks ADR!
I wouldve loved to heard that sub in a good enclosure running that power. That woofer did good for what it was
proof those "lamp cord" wires will hold much power.
At the end in slow motion you can see the woofer lock and hold at the top and bottom of the stroke, which would tell me that you pushed the amp into clipping. The sub died from D.C.
j'avais remarqué ça aussi
Am I the only one that cried when it died.....Wish I could afford a speaker like that....
Hell yeah dude, I love that you’re reppin Soundigital. I’m still beating the shit out of mine 2 years later.
This is this dudes job. I'm not at all jealous.
A child in Africa could've ate that sub
Best dust cap ever.

bass and smoke machine all into one piece,
the creator yelled "ITS ALIVE!!!" after carefully applying a subtle ring of hot glue on the cone.
That chuckle when it went. Hahahahah, that's real enjoyment
That JL processor doing work!🔥
Did you ever find out who dropped it off. Pretty impressive.
Could've been a bomb. Glad it wasn't. These day you never know. Dont need someone messin wit the coolest dude on RUclips.
Lol 8 Hertz is the hulk smash lol great video brother
Nothing wrong with lamp cord as long as it is heavy enough awg. Cheap and ugly but no performance loss.
I would have liked to see you test it without breaking it and then giving it away to an interested subscriber via a contest.
Team Lorie how else do you find its limits?
@@whytboysam9467 I usually use test tones to detect distortion and then back off of the gain a little. :)
Thats no fun though is it

Can you attach a flesh light to that sub? Asking for a friend
Subwoofer was a paid actor .
It’s pretty Sweet watching it clip in slow motion.
This channel is the shit .. since the start it's been the same up till date .. no BS fakeness as the channel grew up
Hands down you are that dude when it comes to music man 1 day I'll get big like you are lol 1 day, keep up the good work man
Can I buy that sub from u would like to recone it
Cute little smoke rings coming out the back. ;)
What's the song @6:30
This man is a legend i remeber watching you build chickens caddy back when i was a kid
You should recone it and make a L port box for it steve. Looks like it will make some noise....
Would love to see that.....
In a 20 part series like sound man?
Even better. 🤔
Id watch it too! along with MANY others here :D
Subwoofer Santa coming early this year? Shyyyttt
Dam it took it like a champ , not to mention the abuse it took before it landed at your doorstep .. That's well built I'd say
Looool that fact you pulled up the track just to hear that mid bass priceless my first vid watching won’t be the last👍🏾
*Leaving My Garage Door Open From Now On*
Haha
The bottom of that sub looks like that thing Will Smith had around his neck in the movie Wild Wild West!,LoL!
Lmao 😂 right!!!
boy you know u built that 😂😂
You love what you do ,and so do we🔊🔊🔉
just before it went it registered 2700 watts, frankinwoofer was beast for a few,
what a giant magnet would give to build a beautiful giant subwoofer with that magnet!
It was blowing smoke rings through the ventilation hole in the magnet at 12:37
Damn those franken woofers can handle power 💪💪💪💪
I was hoping we would see Soundqubed on your bench one day. Didn't think it was going to be like this though. Lol.
it ain't a SQ though...unless the hot-glued dustcap makes it one haha
meade916 good gosh that hot glue lol. quality recone 😁. Makes for some good afternoon entertainment.
I had to man I ran out of CA glue I need some power on it
Anybody else addicted to his videos?
Poor beast blew smoke rings out it's vent before it snapped open.

Wonder how much it would take at 40hz? Bet it would’ve taken a bunch more like that.

It's a wonder it didn't suffer mechanical damage before melting the coil, runnin' free-air like that.
Absolutely. Very high quality motor structure and suspension. That's why you need the coil to run out of magnetic circuit sooner than where the suspension movement range ends....

Soundqubed ftw
my first wall had 4 MA HK 15's, for the price and for a china sub they did pretty damn good and got few years of fun out of them,
What is the song that you used in The subwoofer testing?
What happened to the v6 sub box
that MA audio magnet must be very nice
SMD always doing the crazy stuff..😈👍🏿🍻
What a monster of a woofer !
A little goldnugget from santa 👌🎅
what is the first song you played on the woofer?
I've lost family, friends and pets, but saying goodbye to a subwoofer is never easy😭😏
Rebuild it we have the technology
Gotta hand it to the frankenwoofer. It hung in there longer than I would of ever figured. Damn 2800 watts at the 8. Wheewww !!!!!
he who rules - it already blew. . .
Did you ever find out who built the frankenwoofer? I would like to see it rebuilt and tested in a box. That would be awesome.
EMF audio ruclips.net/video/hPWRO-OCA2o/видео.html
Eduardo Lopez that’s not the subwoofer 👀
Eduardo Lopez - The EMF driver has a magnet that’s larger than the basket...
@@JosephQPublic That does look like the frankenwoofer, seriously.
I love the smell of burnt voice coils in the morning lol
This is the kind of stuff I like to see!!!
Love when you play the old school no limit songs hit the best on the stereo specially pass me the green
did you notice it was making smoke rings out of the back
YOUR VIDEOS ARE THE BEST BROTHER BASSHEAD
Music name at 7:50 please
You are brave for even testing that from a unkown person
Slapping that old school Mac Mall
The wires you got going to your amps are like armoured cable lol God bless love the videos I'm a new subscriber
Good way to get rid of a old sub...be careful you might wake up and have a hundred of them sliding under your Garage door!!!!😂😂😂
BiGGBLUNT1 i was thinking the same thing...he's going to get alot of frakenwoofers dropped off now lol if i was closer i kno i would lol
i'm down! haha...can't promise i won't smoke them all so don't drop it off if you plan on keeping it LMAO!
@@meade916 Careful you might need another industrial vacuum just for sub smoke! LOL
That would be badass if there were more! Everybody loves a woofer test to failure. Maybe get a challenge going?

i ain't about to build a box for this ragedy ass sub. lol
Don't hate on the lil guys lol I guarantee I could have got 140's on that one ten
i wouldn't guarantee anything. A lot of hearts have been broken by the Termlab. You never know though. lol
meade916 true I did get 132's on the original motor
2770 at peak point @ 8hz that's crazy lol. Sunday Fun 🔈🔉🔊🔊
Na free air she loved 23-about17hz had my kid sitting on it. He was loving it. He was only 30 pounds. But he liked it and the sub was loving it
That's great but what does it all mean Bazzle ?
I'm curious to see how differently it will handle power in a box!
It actually sounded great I had it in a 2.8 cube tuned to 28hz
All I have to say is...
RE-CONE!
Build it!
