I like the Eyes of Bodak spell, each round you give a negative level to all the enemies you see. If you are also hitting them and subtracting 1 from several ability powers each round, it makes the enemies weaken significantly as the fight goes on. Great for long slogs, since at high levels your caster level is high enough that it essentially lasts a whole fight.
I’m using this build for my lich playthrough. Not the character idea, I came up with something else but the build itself. I did go ahead and decide to take the spell penetration feats after catching up with the feats in this vid. I just like the idea of my lich also being a master wizard in other ways. It made sense to me in my head. Like transmutation especially fits the idea of changing your body and stuff. But thanks for this, I can finally do my lich run
Man, I have played through to at least choosing 3 mythic paths so far, Lich is BY FAR the best as far as what you gain thematically. I have way more spells than what I know what to do with AND because I am pairing it with Winter Witch that lack of spells issue went adios. My Skeletal Champion might not always hit, but when it does it's coming through like the 7 AM pain train. Loved the Lich playthrough and I've said it before, I was on the fence with this game since I didn't know much about it, but I was convinced after seeing you play it. It's funny, I've always wanted to play a Diva/Siren spellcaster that ascends into a Lich since Tactics Ogre/Ogre Battle and this fits the bill exactly.
Oh also, I find the commanding infusion to be the most useful, a +4 to str and con is more useful than the +1 to dc or whatever I think, and while it doesn’t scale the animate dead spells do have stronger versions. Slightly more damage and health is nice for meat shields. I only really use it in like, battles like the one at the beginning for the defenders heart where there are just sooo many enemies thrown at you. (I do play in turn based exclusively idk that changes summon viability but)
You missed "Dravens Hat" Act 2, Heaven's Edge (Perception 30) it gives +2 profane bonus to in and quickens any haste spell you cast and can quicken any spell once per day. and the "War Staff" Gives +2 DC to spells ct 3, Ivory Sanctum, center room with Baphomet statue (check wall with buttons to find hidden locked compartment; Perception 34, Trickery 31)
I have a question: I've made a few failed playthrough of a cruoromancer lich and I couldn't help to notice the AI penalizes full casters. Given the choice, enemies will always rush torwards the player character, especially bosses... unless you know of his presence and giving the aggro to an archer or a tank, of course. Even so, the data I've gatered shows that a full melee/hybrid will always perform better than a full caster at lower levels. Sure, no one can beat the destructive power of a max level wizard... but compared to what you are going to face he will still be rather frail. Therefore my doubt: could a lich work well with hybrid fighters such as Inquisitor, magus or cleric? I'm sorry to let professor Snape go... but after 3 unsuccesful attempts I'm starting to hate it. Not to mention that, on a pen and paper standpoint, the cruoromancer isn't exactly the most optimal choice.
I feel like most casters early game are better used as CC. Like you said enemies love to target them so you want to shut them down early to minimize the damage taken. Lich works FANTASTIC with melee builds including the ones you have mentioned. It's got powers to increase defense, bonus HP, and how well you are able to hit. No need to be afraid at all. Definitely agree at low levels melee is king especially if you have a pet.
So will this wrap up WOTR content and you will be moving on to other things or trying another playthrough? Good job as always on your vids by the way. :D
There will still be story clips while I work through other Mythic Paths and occasional builds. Otherwise there will definitely be a greater variety of content.
I'd be interested to see what your final Spell Resistance rating was, I've been wondering if all the "add SR" effects you're under actually stack or not.
If you are taking greater enduring spells, be aware that round per level spells become 24 hours once caster level reaches 25, which is around end of act 4 for lich due to dark rituals (you do need to extend the spells to achieve this). Level 17 and rank 6 will get you there. You should definitely be slotting haste at this point. Also, with fear control and frightful aspect, you actually have a decent chance of hitting, particularly if you do something like eldritch knight 10, signifier 4 wizard 6, for BAB 16, for only -1 to caster level. If you then take elemental barrage and stack geniekind 4 times (cast this first and then cast frightful aspect, as geniekind removes frightful aspect, but not the other way around), you will be an absolute powerhouse in melee (I would specialise in death's consonant, but honestly, the lich gets enough bonus strength to use whatever you like), and trade very little spellcasting power to achieve this. Having 24 hour geniekinds, haste, greater invisibility and firebrand is really nice. You proc ele barrage 2.5 times per swing, rising to an average of 2.875 per swing with the dragon pet, which does huge damage, and does x2 on crit (regardless of weapon multiplier). You can also cast any spell as a swift action after a crit.
I first started playing as a Cruoromancer, but I found that the lack of class ability progression didn't really make it long-term "fun". Adding 1 to the DC or shaking the enemy is...all right. And the bonus to skeleton summoning isn't bad, but summoned skeletons quickly lose effectiveness, and a +1 DC isn't all that much better once you hit the mid levels. Even sickening your foes loses a lot of its downsides once your enemies get to a certain point of attack bonuses. Eventually I made the decision to restart as a Thassilonian Specialist in Glutton/Necromancy. The extra bonus spell slot gave me more viability in combat, and the only real downside was the loss of Abjuration magic, which I used to instead force myself to develop new strategies and tactics. Using Nenio back at base camp to craft scrolls of (communal) Stoneskin also helped mitigate that drawback.
In the guide I am respeccing a level 20 character. He still has on all the belts and gear he's acquired throughout the game and that is reflected in the character sheet after level 1.
@@judas7783 loved it enough to crack out for about 80 hours. I burned out hard in chapter 4 and havent come back. the lich build is fantastic. once you finally get the nuke spells it is completely broken in the best way. undead companions are fun too
After much thinking for my current build run - Cruoromancer is just worse than Exploiter Wizard. Exploiter adds +2 DC or +2 CL to any spell, while Cruoromancer only adds +1 and only to Necromancy. Commanding Infusion isn't great because Animate Dead falls off the power curve instantly.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for including spells 🙌 I’m playing a melee lich with Death’s consonant but had no idea what spells to use!

Great call out thanks.
This the build guide I've been waiting for. 3 months of pure refinement

Thanks for the build. Been watching your lich playthrough and have been using it as a guide as sorts.
Glad you enjoy it!
@@SlanderedGaming will you be doing a companion guide as well for the undead party members?
@@blobbocus4201 A guide for getting them will come out tomorrow. Build guides for them will start coming out Friday.
@@SlanderedGaming Great to hear that. Keep up the great work
I don't know if it makes it better but more challenging a Mystic Theurge (Wizard/Cleric) turn Lich build could be fun so spell section YES ALL OF IT

Cool dude. Definitely gonna use this.
Im glad that you also considered RP while creating the character like a lich would know how to use magic devices so putting points on that
Yeah for all my builds I rank roleplaying over min-maxing.

Thanks for this vid!
My pleasure!

I don't believe they do but for the Lich his SR effects have secondary effects that are still useful to me.

Nice! At some point I am going to make a Death Knight build to take advantage of those perks.
@@SlanderedGaming If you arent aware, there is a crusader relic bardiche that uses int for hit and damage, so you might want to build it around that.

I chose Cruoromancer for thematic reasons not mechanical ones. As you stated the class ability is very lackluster.
Every build video I find when I go to allocate 1st level ability points I never have the same amount even when I follow the guard 1 for 1.

I was wholly unimpressed with what Cruoromancer provides. I barely used those mechanics during my playthrough.
I wish we could get the infusions with sorcerer or arcanist
Why do you have 25 attribute points at lvl 1 when I only have 15?

Not if you are watching my videos! 😂 Nah just start out on Normal difficulty and you should be fine.
