📍I knew something was up with that Tom guy when they left the bar, and slow down for a moment and showed the bartender glance at him and Tom glanced back. The bar tender ended up being the other killer.. also the way he was talking he was dropping a lot of hints. Esp when he was talking about how they could possibly fall victim for “sex trafficking, & don’t trust anybody, women get killed traveling by themselves, tonight will be to die for, “ etc.. glad they both got what they deserved but still was sad when the blonde didn’t make it away. Good movie👏👏👏
After running out of every possible horror movie to watch on the net(I have no life) I have turned to these RUclips "short movies" as a sub. I'm quite pleased. There are some VERY talented people out there that Hollywood could learn a thing or two from.
This was amazing!!! I was looking for this kind of gory and scarry things and you have made a perfect short film and I subbed plus set my reminders on since I want to see more. 👌🤗❤️

I would love that! I think only three horror films have been up for best picture - The Exorcist, Silence of the Lambs and Get Out. The academy definitely does not see horror as "worthy". But so glad you enjoyed it and thank you so much for watching and the lovely comment.

stratojim473 that was probably our most subtle reference! Hats off to our FX person Guy Pearson for adding it in for us - asking for something that has no relevance to the story which takes time could have been met with many a grumble but he loved it! He's helped me add a few things like this in across all my films. And they went at night as it's used during the day as the tourist attraction. So they could only get in at night. We tried to have some reason. Hope that one was a half decent one lol

Excellent. So relieved to have a good old haunted house again - with NO mobile phones, introoders (sic!) or demonic creeps stalking sexy kids. This could be a tale straight from a Cynthia Asquith or Robert Ai kman collection. At first I was disappointed towards the end, thinking it was only a murder tale - but then came the twist. My chief crit - the 'twist' could somehow be expanded. It was very short, even if sweet.
Paul Ziolo our influence was films like The Haunting. So wanted to avoid modern cliches. Or if we did put then in it was a knowing wink to the audience. Such as the found footage gag at the beginning then giving them a camera later on :)
wow ! This was a masterpiece, a real roller coaster. At 6:26 he exchanged a look with Geoff the barman, and I thought "ok it's a classic hoax, to scare the girls" etc... At 11:10 Cassie gets murdered and I thought "WTF, they really murder people?" Reading the "news" articles, I wondered that Tom would be prime suspect to the police ... And at 13:48 they get killed by the REAL ghost of the house
No , the ghost is appearing all the way through the film. In the window behind the girls in the pic he took of them , and reflected again at around 7:32 min mark.
I'm thinking "do you have to be a "'ho" to have fun? That's gotta be exhausting (being a ho!) And, yeah, I've seen "Hostel!" And hot guys will get you dead!

A smart English boy, such as himself ,would drop that brunette like a hot brick for behaving so disrespectfully towards him... while yet giving signals she's attracted....that is the tip-off that things are gonna get nasty...Film did not need more after the news clippings as he could have absented himself to avoid suspicion and returned when forgotten.
If you have Amazon prime two of my other shorts with him in are on there. The Package (which also stars Dan Palmer) and Dissociative. Jess has done a number of other horror films, pretty sure some are on Netflix. Heather too. All were wonderful to work with too!!

You were doing SO WELL until that final minute. Oh no...not another big mouthed ghost.... Like, it isn't scary anymore. It's a startle effect like a jump scare. Big mouths naturally make the fight-or-flight instinct kick in because it's a remnant from our earliest days. Big mouths mean you're about to be eaten. Your body says run, you interpret that as fear, but it isn't, it's a startle. Literally all they had to do was not have her open her mouth and the creepy factor would have carried it, but they had to buy into modern jump scare tactics.
nemesismkiii I get where you’re coming from with this. We were trying to add a little life into the face. But yeah can understand it fits into a much used piece of imagery! But glad you were enjoying it up until then.
@@namesy Just think how much creepier it would have been, if you had only shown the spirit's eyes, hovering in the darkness. As it is, you did a bang up job. This was very well shot, acted, and had a great ending!

@@oldschool8432 That was me!! The best thing with when we shot that was all they knew was they would see me then they had to run away. We hadnt told them I'd then run at them full steam! So when they ran off screaming that was genuine (the house we shot in is actually rumoured to be haunted to at 2am they were already nervy lol). Had to cut the shot before you see me run into the wall (it protruded out slightly near the doorway). That hurt lol.

You were doing SO WELL until that final minute. Oh no...not another big mouthed ghost.... Like, it isn't scary anymore. It's a startle effect like a jump scare. Big mouths naturally make the fight-or-flight instinct kick in because it's a remnant from our earliest days. Big mouths mean you're about to be eaten. Your body says run, you interpret that as fear, but it isn't, it's a startle. Literally all they had to do was not have her open her mouth and the creepy factor would have carried it, but they had to buy into modern jump scare tactics.
nemesismkiii I get where you’re coming from with this. We were trying to add a little life into the face. But yeah can understand it fits into a much used piece of imagery! But glad you were enjoying it up until then.

Just think how much creepier it would have been, if you had only shown the spirit's eyes, hovering in the darkness. As it is, you did a bang up job. This was very well shot, acted, and had a great ending!
"Please don't use effects that we know to scare people" sure is a take people have about horror movies

I desperately want to take off “Cassie’s” makeup and redo it. That eye makeup is making her eyes look so small. She is so pretty, her makeup should enhance that.

@@oldschool8432 That was me!! The best thing with when we shot that was all they knew was they would see me then they had to run away. We hadnt told them I'd then run at them full steam! So when they ran off screaming that was genuine (the house we shot in is actually rumoured to be haunted to at 2am they were already nervy lol). Had to cut the shot before you see me run into the wall (it protruded out slightly near the doorway). That hurt lol.
