You are so positive and I absolutely love that. That's what I want to see in my action figure and comic history videos! Love ya man
Thanks so much!! I love this hobby and I am so glad that comes across!
Very true, refreshing when some people in the hobby focus on so much negativity.
I like watching carbon scoring because all my old toys growing up were destroyed. Being broke sucks. Reminds me of simple times. I appreciate the effort. Can you do a Teen Titans box ?? Much love!
@@RiseBeneath titans would be awesome!
The Orb was created in 1973 for the original Ghost Rider series.
I was looking for someone to put this comment up.✌️
Orb is much order than you mentioned, he came out in 1972 -73. And he was one of GHOST RIDER'S ARCH ENEMIES.
Yeah - I got incomplete data on theta when I looked it up
Andrew Garfield has come a long way
ain't it the truth!
But he still couldn't hang on to Emma Stone.😅
I never liked Ben Reilly's newest Spider-Man costume until you mentioned how the offset spider mirrors his Scarlet Spider costume. I still prefer his Sensational Spider-Man costume, but I have a whole new love for this one now that I see it
That is the kind of knowledge that I am here for!
The orb first showed up in the early 70’s and yes he is a Johnny blaze villain. He was featured in very early issues of the series, like issues 10-12 or something like that. You need to get on marvel unlimited and familiarize yourself with the character.
I see this didn't get a like or comment 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂👏🏾👏🏾
The Orb first appeared in 1973 in Marvel Team Up #15. Team America first appeared in May 1982. The Orb was around a good decade prior.
Great call - my research failed me on this one!
@@CarbonScoring all good brother...we are at the age where our memories ain't the best. Plus everyone misses something now and again. Great list though. Agree with much of it. Spiral, Dr. Octopus, Wonder Man and X-men #275 figures are definitely stand outs for the year for me as well. I'd also add Drax the Destroyer, The Blob and Astonishing Ant Man with honorable mentions for Sersi, Mockingbird and Captain Marvel (Marvel/Doom 2 pack). But Drax may be my favorite figure of 2023.
I love that you have Corsair in your top 10 for 2023 so far. He's my personal favorite and I was not about to wait to grab him. Great job on your list, CS! I am in total agreement with you. Still need to grab that two pack Doc and Aunt Mae, though. You totally sold me on it. Other reviewers did not capture he brilliance of the figure and so I was kinda skeptical until now. You have such enthusiasm in your videos. I love it!
I was actually oddly excited about the Orb too! Jason Aaron using him as a component of the Original Sin event was pretty cool. I think I'll have him posed with the Watcher
Great idea! I still have the promo eyeball from my comic shop from that event!
Correction for 5:40, this is the 3rd time it's been used, It was reused with Daredevil in the 3-pack and The gamerverse Spider-man
It's actually been used 4 times as a reuse and 5 times total.
RYV
Daredevil 3 pack
Gamerverse Spider-Man
TAS Symbiote Suit
Ben Reilly
@mikelaflamme6724 I felt like I was missing someone. Yeah, I completely forgot about TAS Symbiote Spider-man
What would I do without you guys!
The Orb has been around since 1973 and he first appeared in Marvel Team-Up #15 with Spider-Man and Ghost Rider. So, The Orb is technically a Spider-Man villain since he first showed up in one of Spidey's regular titles. Might I suggest using this thing called "Google" for future reference.
That is a great idea! Thanks!
Jason Aaron only rebooted the character from the original Orb who was a villain in Ghost Rider's first series in the '70s. So, ultimately you're not far off at all with your Evel Knievel comparison!
Bro basically has the whole MCU in his house and I love it!
sounds about right!
Ben Reilly Spider-Man wasn’t the first use of the renew your vows since the pack. The symbiote suit reused it from the carnage 2 pack, daredevil used it in the 3 pack, Ps4 Spider-Man from this year used it and Deadpool will be using it
That was a goof up for sure - really looking forward to seeing Deadpool on that buck
YO The Black Hole ?!? I love that goofy movie. Especially those goofy robot designs. As a kid when I’d visit my grandparents, they had the black hole bed sheets for my room.
A retrospective would be cool.
Did you like that recent-ish Molecule Man figure? I'm not crazy about the head but I'm just happy to have a Molecule Man figure
oh, yeah! looking forward to doing a Secert Wars video with him...
Yo brother I believe that The Orb debuted in a 1970s. Ghost Rider run.
Other than that great video ✊
Love the Parks & Rec shoutout via showing off the ReAction Li'l Sebastian figure! Just cosplayed Ron Swanson at a convention last weekend!
Aw man - that sounds awesome!
Great video man! Really enjoy the time for each character background
The fact that it's a Betsy Braddock head is awesome .
Putting her and a separate Kwannon is what I love when Legends gets it right .
Yeah, that X Men run. Crazy in hindsight. So much great stuff.
Hate to say this but the orb’s 1sr app was WAY BACK in 1973 in marvel team up 15. He is a pretty obscure character tho. But love the video!!!
Yeah, my research let me down on that one
For me it is
Ultimate captain America
Extremis iron man
Astonishing Cyclops
Animated doctor octopus
X-men 97 Wolverine
San Diego Comic-Con two pack Deadpool
Sky cycle Hawkeye
Super articulated black widow
First appareance iron man
Daredevil elektra
Also I give honorable mentions to wonder man, destroyer from the Thor 2 pack, Bucky captain America and the mindless one baf
All good choices
Thx
Oh and i forgot classic ant man and I was not counting the Mcu stuff but that nwh tree pack 👌
It's amazing how many dorks aspire to rave about jim lee's run . Mine will always be Byrne and Cockrum's vision. Allll others is borrowing!! From the classic work of john and Dave. They were working alongside neal , stan and Jack. There can be no better 😀
I think you can celebrate Claremont/Cockrum/Byrne and also celebrate Wheedon/Cassaday or Jim Lee or even Hickman - all different, unique - one doesn’t take away from another
Love your videos, but some constructive criticism would be to not use the directional microphone while talking about the figures. It is weird hearing your voice in one ear while using headphones. Great video though. 👍
Thanks for the heads up - I didn't do anything different on my end on this video, but you are the second person that has mentioned this, so something must be up...
Can’t wait for another great vid!
More to come!
The new Black Widow , Hawkeye , Commander Rogers , and the soon to come Luke Power Man Cage have me excited .
The new Bucky Cap .
Hasbro has been killing it lately .
I agree about Spiral
She's in a class by herself .
It's not even fair .
Do you see we're getting a Crystar soon too .
Maybe obscure Legends aren't far behind .
So maybe Team America is soon to be released in the Legendary Riders line .
The Marauder is here ....
the orb was created in the early 70s as a ghost rider villain
Thanks - I got my research wrong on that one
Your profile on the orb is messed up as youve combined both characters called Orb, Drake Shannon and otherwise unamed Orb. The marvel legends orb is drake shannon but the eye is a helmet not a real eye and he was created in 1973. The other orb with the real eye for a head was 2008 but thats not the marvel legends version
Well, I guess I proved that I really DIDN'T know anything about the character!
Such a good line up. Always look forward to this weekly. The enthusiasm and knowledge is well worth the wait. I'm totally down for a Black Hole toy vid. Thanks again for a totally fun vid.
Can't wait for my Black Widow to come in!
Definitely been on the hunt for that.
He is partially based on _Evil Kanevil_ from the 70's. The [Orb] first appeared in 1974 actually, _Marvel Team-Up 15._
> That's why all his garb & the bike, plus being A Ghost-Rider Villain, all becomes relevant.
As for _Jim "Lazy AF" Lee_ (who hasn't drawn an actual comics story "run" in years, as DC dies all around him,, is just sad). But the Best drawn _Lee X-stroy_ IMO is _Savage Land Rogue; UXM 269, 274-275._ Nothing like Magneto envisioning sex w/ Rogue, via passionate pencils & all that subtle 90's foreplay! W/ Fury being on the evac team & Rogue changing in the Heli- Man those were awesome comics!
&
Thanks for your List! Although I vehemently don't agree w/ Doc Oc, the peg tentacles won't stay in the holes. Plus I would of included Retro HERCULES, 3-pack Daredevil & M from _Extreme X-men_ (which I know nothing about) but Im never wrong about my opinion, an that Monet figure rocks!
Great feedback - I love someone who is passionate about comics! Keep commenting, I really appreciate it!
That Banshee headsculpt convinced me that if they ever cast him for a movie, Michael Shannon would be the perfect choice.
Woah - you are right - he would be perfect!
Great list, but you left out who I consider the #1 figure so far, BLACK WIDOW! She has it ALL!
Yep - I just don't have her yet! Hard to imagine she won't make the year-end list...
The Astonishing Emma & Cyclops are like the only ML figs I purchased. So those 2 are my top MLs this year lol.
My ultimate '23 ML fig I have been waiting for is Elektra. Hyped when she debuted in the comics and to have her out this quick is amazing. She's my #1 want this year and in-hand, did not disappoint. Btw: It's Chip-Zah-Dar-ski- Zdarsky .....and Marco- Che-chet-toe- Checchetto 🙂👍....Elektra Daredevil blunted her sais in the comics at the beginning of this current storyline that will end Zdarsky and Checchetto 's run this month. Zdarsky 's run was around '21? cause issue 25 where this Elektra DD debuted in Jan '22. 🔥👍
Heard Hasbro is going to be revealing the 3 Spideys individually later this, so I passed on the 3-pack.
Thanks for the pronunciation help - I always need it!
Elektra is amazing. One of my fav figs in my collection now.
I'm pretty sure The Orb has been around a lot longer than 2008. I know I have some Ghost Rider books he is in from the early 90's. Ok yeah, just looked it up, he's been around since 1973 however there was a 2nd incarnation that debuted in 2008.
10:40 This is beautiful. If I had this at 14, I'd be sitting and staring at it right now. Still.
I thought daredevil 3 pack came out before the Ben Reilly fig
It did - I’m an idiot
Of the 7 here I can agree with the first 6, but not the last one I like the head of the orb, but don’t like the body I do like the new wonder man a lot, as well as banshee and Doctor Octopus from the animated series primarily because of the Bendy wire tentacles and how you can actually make them stand up with them in the original star lord is cool I’m hoping for number one to be Iron Man Extremist and I’m hoping to also see The Blob on the list as well and also that Elektra Daredevil also, when you do do the full end of the year ranking, hoping to see Spider-Man: The Animated Series Peter Parker, Clea, Across The Spider-Verse Miles Morales, Across The Spider-Verse Spider-Gwen, Across The Spider-Verse Spider-Punk, Across The Spider-Verse The Spot, Across The Spider-Verse Cyborg Spider-Woman, Vol. 3 Cosmo, MCU Kingpin, Quantummania Kang The Conqueror, Civil War Spider-Man, Infinity War Bruce Banner, Modern Daredevil, The Rose, Amadeus Cho The Totally Awesome Hulk, The Destroyer, Bucky Cap, Monica Rambo Captain Marvel, Classic Vision, X-Men: 97 Wolverine, x-Men: 97 Magneto, X-Men: 97 Bishop, 2 Pack Deadpool, Ultimate Captain America, Fang, Superposable Black Widow, Eric Matterson Thor, Egghead, Molecule Man, Joe Fixit, Modern Ultron, Astonishing X-Men Cyclops, Heroes Return Iron Man, Classic Ant-Man, Hank Pym, The Amazing Spider-Man, Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man, No Way Home Green Goblin, No Way Home Doctor Octopus, Stealth Captain America, Mania, Blade, Mindless One, Classice Hawkeye, Classic Drax The Destroyer, Julia Carpenter Spider-Woman, Pretty Boy, Ronan The Accuser, Kid Omega, Stryfe, and Luke Cage Power Man, make the list hell why don’t even make it a top 10 make it a top 20 maybe make it a top 30 50 100 I don’t know make as big as you want to by the way, in total as I counted, I mentioned 51 figures right up there
Wow. I’m gonna let you do the next video
@@CarbonScoring thank you when is that happening?
@@SuperCeleste007 we will just have to wait and see…

New video idea:
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem figures
electra daredevil is my favorite i just like the aesthetic
She is fabulous and I can't wait to add Matt to the collection as well!
DD Elektra is definitely one I want to get, especially after they showed off the Marvel Knights wave Daredevil. I just wish Orb didn't have that BuckyCap torso, any other one would have been preferred.
I've never really cared for the character, but the new Black Widow is really awesome. I love the more flexible torso and the three different heads add a lot of potential (or extra Jean Grey/MJ if need be)
i have that ben riley figure and I absolutely love it!
Didn’t Orb first appear in a Marvel Team Up with Ghost Rider? Or am I thinking of a different character?
There are two Orbs, the original 70s Orb, who's a disfigured stunt rider who wears an eyeball helmet, and the 2008 Orb, who's head just looks like that. I'm fairly certain the modern one fully replaced the original
Came here to say this.
Clearly I am confused, but the figure remains awesome anyway...
Ben riley is the 4th usage of the Ryv parts.
Ryv spidey
Daredevil
Animated black costume
Ben
Yeah, I kinda forgot all those...
@@CarbonScoring it happens lol
always a good day when there's a new carbon scoring video
Every Saturday!
Thanks for another great video!
Glad you like them!
(Orb wasn’t born with a big eye wtf) Drake Shannon was born in Wheeling, West Virginia. An accomplished motorcycle stunt rider, he owned one-half of the traveling motorcycle stunt show which would later feature Johnny Blaze (who would later become Ghost Rider). The other half of the show was owned by Blaze's mentor, Crash Simpson.
While the partnership was initially amiable, the two men grew apart and eventually an intense rivalry developed. Neither wanted to work with the other, but neither wanted to sell their half of the show. To settle the dispute, the two men agreed to a lengthy race, with the winner receiving full ownership of the traveling show.
After many miles of neck-and-neck competition, Shannon deliberately swerved towards Simpson in an effort to force Simpson to crash. However, the maneuver caused Shannon to lose control of his motorcycle. While Simpson managed to remain upright and continue on with the race, Shannon slid 25 yards on his unprotected face. The accident left him hideously disfigured.
After his recovery for reasons never adequately explained, Shannon was given a powerful motorcycle helmet by They Who Wield Power. The helmet, which was modeled to look like a giant eyeball, could hypnotize people. A later version could also shoot powerful laser beams from its "pupil".
Calling himself "the Orb", Shannon attempted to take over the traveling motorcycle stunt show which he had once half-owned. He put the lives of dozens of innocent people at risk, but informed Johnny Blaze (now the sole owner of the stunt show) that he would let them go unharmed in exchange for the sole ownership of the stunt show. Although Blaze capitulated, Shannon instructed his minions to kill the hostages anyway, so that no one would know how the ownership changed hands. At this point, Ghost Rider and Spider-Man teamed up to defeat him.[3][4]
Becoming a professional criminal, he returned several times, always plotting to get revenge on the Ghost Rider. The Orb attacked Delazny Studios, and battled the Ghost Rider again.[5] He inflicted Roxanne Simpson with amnesia, and battled Ghost Rider once more.[6] He was later revealed to have been a pawn of "They Who Wield Power."[7] Alongside Madame Menace, he battled Ghost Rider once again.[8] At one point he also crossed paths with Hawkeye. The Orb battled Hawkeye, and alongside Hawkeye he discovered Plantman's mobile plant-growing factory, and was shot by Plantman's stimuloids.[9]
i feel kinda bad for not coming to the premier of your great videos
So many Wolverines and they still can’t figure out the claws 🦞.
Check out Can of Beams for all your Wolvie claw needs…
I know I’m a little bit late to the party, but how do you feel of venom let there be Carnage marvel legends Carnage!
Looks like a cool figure - a better figure than movie for sure!
You should do a vid of your least favorite spider man fig
That is an interesting idea, but I have made a decision to build my channel around positivity, so I try to steer clear of "negative" topics
16:48 "Does he know?"
I stand by that. You can’t do permanent change to Spidey the way you can DD
@@CarbonScoring Oh I totally agree on that, Moonight and DD are so fun because there isn't a super strict status quo with them. But the current spider-man run is definetly dragging him through the dirt for the sake of a status quo that a massive chunk of readers and fans don't even want.
Hey Carbon as I As I always say great video. I could reason with you on some but all the others are perfect and a great choice. Thanks for making me smile
Always my pleasure - I try to pick a few unconventional choices that I can make the argument for - it makes all of us think about the figures a bit more!
@@CarbonScoring i get you. pretty good at thinking ahead
I don’t get how you tentacles can stand without falling🤔 Becasue on mine I have to glue them cuz when I wanted to move them fall always !
Cockrum was so great, I felt guilty loving John Byrne's art more.
The MAFEX Thor isn't so bad.
It was just so disappointing- I wanted to be so much better
No Black Widow or Astonishing Cyclops?
I didn’t have Widow at the time of the video (she will almost certainly make the year end top 10!) and I really like Cyke - but I think these others are better
Come on man, I know you didn’t just say that Ben Spiderman figure is the 1st time the RYV buck is reused. 4th time reusing so 5 times in total for the is buck.
1. RYV Spidey
2. Daredevil from Pulse exclusive three pack
3. PlayStation Spidey
4. Symbiote Cell Shaded Spidey from VHS two pack
5. Ben Riley Spider-Man
I kinda meant the first time as a Spidey figure, but even my intention was wrong
I’d like to get orb but only if he ever goes on sale which is likely a no.
Spiral and Blob are a step above all .
Mafex Thor is small even for Mafex standards. Love your enthusiasm but I disagree with a lot of your list lol. For starters Iron Man Model 1 is one of the top figures of the year. So is the target exclusive Black Widow. Can't believe they didn't even make your top ten.Ten. Destroyer, Ant-Man, Iron Man Extremis, and Ultimate Captain America deserve some love. I do agree Andrew Garfields Spiderman was the best of the spidey Trio, and I agree Doc Ock and Star-Lord deserve to be there.
So, of all of the ones you listed, the only one I have in hand is Ultimate Cap, so since I don't have those yet, I couldn't rank them - but there is a great chance several of those may end up on the end of the year list!
@@CarbonScoring got it. I do recommend those figures . But love your videos man.
The only spiderman who interests me is the 70'- 80' comic version, he never ever had a mentor and now they've made him a child and too week

you into punk music at all?
Not any current bands - I still listen to some of the punk from the 80's I grew up with
So you mention great Uncanny Xmen artist from the 80s to 90s and leave out Marc Silverstri? C'mon, fam...
Good point - Silvestri is a classic - very worthy of a mention - his Brood issues were killer!
@@CarbonScoring Funny you mention that, because yesterday I was thinking about how issue 234 is one of my favorite comic book covers of all time. I apologize if I came across a certain way. Honestly, the only reason I was so disappointed by Silvestri being omitted was because i was quite impressed by your knowledge of comics. It's esoteric. Good stuff, man.

Holy cow take a heat gun to that wolverine and fix those claws dude. Legends always has that happen unfortunately
That 3 pack is one of the most inconsistent things Hasbro has ever released; not a single one matches either the other two in style. It legitimately looks like each one was designed by a completely different company; none of which happen to be one of the biggest and therefore richest toy companies in the world.

Hi is jam
Sorry but that Ben Reilly is just not it, his head is so ugly and looks nothing like he’s supposed to in the comics. Plus the fact they only included four hands TOTAL when they have the molds to give us a full set, yeah just absolutely not worth the money. The only new thing on the figure is usually the head on a modern day Marvel Legends and they couldn’t even get that right.
Oh no, your next video next week is the one I predicted for a movie to tie in with that took inspiration from the spider verse. That’s it’s once again another overrated movie that takes inspiration from spider verse as some of the movies that took inspiration from it. also shock it the first turtles movie to get a good rating online tomatoes tomatoes plus being an extremely high rating matter of fact
I'm actually looking super forward to it -I think it is going to be fun!
@@CarbonScoring yeah, it is the first TMNT movie to get a good reviews on rotten tomatoes and extremely high matter of fact, generally speaking, I have not been really interested primarily because of me not liking the art style and thinking it’s just the spider verse art style but uglier it doesn’t get what made that art style so beautiful in the first place
I disagree. I feel ML took a huge step back this year. I passed on a lot of stuff. The prices no longer match the quality. The 2 pack gimmick to get you to spend more money is a nice way to deep six your line. Those Avengers 2 packs are sitting everywhere. GIJOE is absolutely destroying them in quality. The effort has to pick up or they will be done in a few years. ML has been trash since 2020.
I do love Classified! But I still think there are some gems in the ML line as well
Doc Ock looking like Oliver Tree.
Had to look that up and I agree - Oliver Tree stole his look from Doc Ock!
