Sorry I totally forgot to demonstrate the touchscreen functions! To summarise, you can assign virtual button box buttons, change layouts and pre-sets all by touching the screen.
Magnet is super nice to remove when you're using your PC outside of a racing sim as it'll likely cover part of your screen. That was a big issue when I had a DDU (not this one).
Been in the market for one of these displays. Luckily I waited until I got the full review before purchasing. This ones is priced right and looks great. Thanks again Karl 🏁
it is great, But the lack of a dashboard would make the whole device soulless SIMDID is the best dashboard I have ever used, I recommend you to take a look😀
I have SRA’s DDU 10, racelogic replica, lumirank replica, and spotter flags. Great additions to my motion rig. Service has been great as well. When I showed him how the fanatec bracket covers a portion of the DD2’s OLED, he redesigned it!
Great video review. Now for the weird bit... it was like watching myself on RUclips - you're my doppelganger for sure. My wife even video'd me watching you. The likeness is scarily uncanny! Do you have releatives in the N of England - Olham, Manchester region?
It is great, adds so much to the look. Bare in mind if you have motion then obviously itll move about compared to the dash in game, can look a little odd
Very nice looking quality, been wanting one of these screens for above the dd1. I agree with having the cord coming out of the back is better, too easy to apply strain on those plugs.
it is great, But the lack of a dashboard would make the whole device soulless SIMDID is the best dashboard I have ever used, I recommend you to take a look😀
Hi Karl, keep up the great work, your videos are helping us a lot in choosing the right equipment. On this note, I was just wondering, is there a coupon code also for Fanatec stuff(like for GT Omega for example)? If I open the web page through your link(in the description) and try to proceed with the basket, I just receive an error message that the token is not correct and it reloads the page and cannot pay for the items. thanks for your answer!
Are there any profiles for AMS2, Project Cars 2, AC or F1 22 like what was provided for ACC? The ACC one is amazing where it detects your car an replicates it automatically
hello do you have to launch the game from Sim Hub for it to work or just have it opened and configured Sim Hub? thanks to you I have both the incoming wind simulator and the dash but I always have to launch the game normally otherwise having a dynamic simulator it doesn't work for me thanks a lot as always
Hey Karl love your honest reviews, I’ve been looking to get into racing a bit more than using a controller since F122 came out! What starter wheel would you recommend? Looking at the T248 and G920 for Xbox X and would get a play seat as well - would appreciate your opinion 😊
Hi karl , a bit off topic this question but I have just ordered a fanatec Gt DD pro set up and I’m really not sure on what seat to get. I have heard bad things about attaching it to the playseat challenge and NLR F-GT lite with regards to flex and it ruining the experience because the wheel is too heavy and powerful. Should I just go for something like the playseat trophy as it’s still kind of portable/light to put away in my room but also solid? Thanks In advance
The PST is much more solid but the price is far too high (or at least it was at launch), the PSC does have a fair bit of flex but it's not a deal breaker if you need something to fold away, maybe pick one up second hand to try? That way you can move it on without losing any money if you don't like it! :)
@@KarlGosling thanks for the quick response mate. I just watched some of your reviews and do you think f gt light can handle the gt dd pro as I forgot to mention i bought the 8nm one, instead of me upgrading down the line should I just got for the trophy or are there any other seats you could recommend that are moderately portable as I have the space to put it away doesn’t need to fold but I also don’t want a fixed chair as it will need to be moved. Really appreciate the help
The equipment is very good, it is great, But the lack of a dashboard would make the whole device soulless SIMDID is the best dashboard I have ever used, I recommend you to take a look😀
@@KarlGosling nice one , it is a bit on the strong side from a price stand point compared with the Fanatec DD so be interesting if you do get one on test.
I use my phone, its just as good. Again tho another sim racing product thats way over priced at 200 quid delivered. People are jumping on the band wagon trying to make quick mega bucks and its the idiots who pay these prices that ruin it for the rest of us....! Im not saying the products are rubbish but they're definatly not worth the heavy price tags that seems to accompany sim racing products! Its like open season and sim racers are the target.....! Its a big problem and someone needs to raise this point.......! Sorry if i seem negative but someones gota say somat...! ✌🏻💙
Phone is a good option, as is a tablet like I use... but some prefer these and it's always good to have options. But yes a lot of sim racing stuff is stupidly priced, this I don't think is too bad as you are paying for someone time to physically make each one by hand, it's not mass produced in a factory in China for £10.
Literary the cheapest 5'' DDU unit with integrated LEDs on the market. It's carbon wrapped so that it looks better than just 3D printed front , 3pcs assembly to offer colour personalisation, 6 embedded magnets and a power switch. Everything in a 2cm thick package... All that takes time and effort. I could use a smaller screen size, drop power switch and make it a black square box, but that is not what any of my products is ever about.
@@SimRacingAddict i ordered one, if it came really quickly id be impressed ;) i think the functionality of the thing and design make it worth the price, certainly more expensive ones out there that are way more money but in an aluminum shell like that really adds anything important. look forward to getting it.
@@SimRacingAddict im not saying it isnt good, im saying its over priced as is anything and everything to do with sim racing it seems, i have leds on my wheel and i use my phone which works ok for me personally! Its a nice bit of kit i have to say after checking it out more but its still over priced, i couldn't or wouldn't say what i think is a reasonable price but i can say that 200 delivered is heavy... Nothing personal...✌🏻💙
@@curleex3838 It's not "over priced", it's more than you're willing to spend those are two different things. Go ahead and make one of these yourself for less (including the price of all of the parts, the equipment needed to make the shell, and the time spent to put it all together). You're not going to come back with much change out of 200 unless you already have a 3D printer and value your own time at 0 quid per hour.
@@KarlGosling just from a longevity point, USB-C is a much hardier connector in comparison. Won't stop me probably picking one of these up at some point, but it's still a bit of a shame
Consoles are technically possible with SimHUB and UDP telemetry games. But it's not a straight forward setup, and you need a PC nearby your Console. I was thinking about making a video about it, but I'll just butcher it.

2024 and jus brought one. Thanks Karl

That's hilarious, I got this display probably a month ago and I LOVE IT. Shout out to SRA, quality products!

Ah yeah if you're a desk based racer! Hadn't thought of that.
its also handy for moving it up and down for different wheels
I’ve got the slightly older version of this dash. Came as a kit and built it myself. Absolutely love it
Seen this video and went ahead and ordered. Looking forward to it arriving now.
