    I think someone was drunk and tried to tie a tie, and then created the Eldredge.

      +Elckrightvay Did you happen to see how much tie this person has at the beginning of the video? With the thick part pf the tie at the top of the belt-buckle, the thin part still hangs much lower.
      I need an extra-long tie.

      I was able to do it with about 2 inches more thin than thick at the bottom. Only tip I have is try to keep the knot as tight as possible. I end with about an inch and a half.

      instead of lining the thick side of the tie around your waistline, try to line it up with your belly button. At the end you will need to pull it a bit so it won't get too short.

    • @shakeelahmed332

      This knot's meant to work, specifically, for long ties

  • @TheJaySpot
    @TheJaySpot 8 лет назад +4

    But... The thick part of the tie is on his left side to start. I am right handed so it is reverse. Also, tie instructions are always in reverse. Watch the video in a mirror. Just a thought.

    • @Mngalahad
      @Mngalahad 7 лет назад +1

      if you watch it sideways to avoid this issue. the final step was the hardest one for me, as the last loop would be huge and cover the middle of my full knot as i was not doing it in a mirror.
      1:37 what i did was to hold it when it goes from above and when it goes up into the same knot. maybe it was because my tie was too thick but i could not just pull it around and tighten it. holding it in place and making the loops with the leftover tie was much easier.

    Thank you, Youtique Bridal, for making well-produced instructional videos that are easy to follow and free of superfluous words and directions--and thus short and to the point. In under three and a half minutes each, I can be tutored on how to tie the Trinity, the Eldredge and the Pratt knots. (I now know them by heart.) My decades of only Half Windsors are over! Great accompaniment track, too. And, accentuating the word "heart" in the song just after the word "heart" is spoken in the Trinity knot video was very clever. Kudos to your producer. My only request: more knots--please make some more tutorials!

      scooterinjapan you such a kind commenter and carefully caught all the details in the tutorial...I'm quite impressed:) I do plan on making more videos but it takes time and I do have projects behind the scenes as well. Hopefully I can dedicate more time in the future. Thank you so much for visiting and watching the tutorials!

    I have seen it with certain plaids and it actually looked nice but maybe not paisley. The tie we used had a tiny dot design that didn't overwhelm the knot itself...so some pattern may work but it may have to be a small pattern. I may look into other tie styles that will compliment this knot in the future...great suggestion! Thanks for visiting!

  • @youtiquebridal
    @youtiquebridal  11 лет назад

    I have seen whole black outfits put together and still look good. However, if you are doing something cool with the tie, like tying the Eldredge Knot, I suggest an accent color so people can see the effort you put into the tie knot. Hope this helps and your brain won't hurt so much. Thanks for visiting!

    Seriously had problems. I'm always at the last step and I dont have enough tie to finish it. So frustrating. I tie my tie way up to my neck to the point where I'm nearly choking myself and it's still not enough. Over and over, Fail after fail, I've spent one hour doing this and gotten the same result on multiple videos. I'm actually stressed TF out with this. FFS this a cuckold of a video if I've ever seen one. KMS.

      I think the trouble is that we are taller than Hai (the guy in the video). For taller people to make it work, we either need to start with the tip of the wide end a couple inches higher, or find a longer-than-standard tie.

    Any type of patterns you recommend pairing this type of knot with? I heard it works best with solid colors, and not so well with paisley or plaid. I'd recommend adding tie styles that help compliment these knots in your next clips.
    Aside from that, great clips! Simple and to the point.

    Gross. Don't do this. Its so blah, trendy and pretentious. If you think it looks clever neat or stylist you're just plain wrong

    Wow! I'm impressed...you have a keen sense of hearing. I actually had problems with adjusting the sound when editing this video, but decided to upload anyway. Sorry it was hard to follow...

    Great video, although i am new to wearing ties this made it easy to knock it out of the park! i got a lot of comments on the knot. a tip if you keep running out tie, put the fat end right at the top of your belly button.

    Good tutorial but like others said the steps are a bit fast, if you could slow it down just a bit so I wouldn't have to keep pausing the vid every 3 seconds that would be great.

    Instructions are so ambiguous with the narrator stating “other side” constantly. Which side?

    Before starting, make sure the tie lies about an inch above your waist line. And you may be correct, make sure as you are tying that it is tight. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

    Excellent knot, got it right on the first shot. Only thing is, it doesn't look like you can loosen/tighten it to be lazy for re-use, and need to tie it every time.

    I have seen it done on slim ties...looks great too! I guess it comes down to a matter of preference on how you want the final look.

    It helps tremendously if your tie isn't made of thick material; silk would be ideal.

    they should have had a scene about ties in American Psycho after the business cards, that's where this would be appropriate
