Instructions unclear. There's blood everywhere. They're all dead. I tied it to long. The stress got to me. I hear the sirens. The once bright faces of all these children, now riddled with holes and drenched in blood. They are almost upon me now. It serves me right whatever judgement they pass on me. However no punishment would ever be enough to compensate for the the blood on my hands and the strangling tie holds...
Please never watch instructions again. It's too dangerous, and a little creepy.
MyNiceTie I've just suscrobed your channel just to follow all your answers :D aaannnd by the way video was helpfull ;)
Oh come now, he made this very easy - gave clear instructions and time to see what he was doing. A good knot that's a lot easier than this with a similar principle is the trinity knot. Give that one a few tries and this will be almost painless to learn or at least imitate by watching the video.
We'll have a trinity knot video soon.
you got a future in poetry
I'm not sure why I'm up at 4AM learning how to tie a tie in a method I've never heard of, or even seen before. Why is it called an Eldredge knot? Thanks for posting, good info and description!
The name was given by its creator, although I'm not that confident that the person who claimed the knot really created it.
The guy who claims it is on reddit and his name is Eldredge. While he may not have invented it, he certainly did popularize it. I consider this a knot to use at weddings and similar celebratory events. In order to do so though, people need to practice tying this thing otherwise they'll run out of time trying to figure it out the day of the wedding!
@@dannyarcher 23:47 Dark and also another sleepless zombie
It's so hard, they might as well call it the Eldritch knot!
HAH! Get it?
Sorry, that was bad.
Thanks for the video, though.
After that knot tie , i won that work interview. The woman just keeped smiling all the time
Can you guys do a video on how to do a plattsburgh knot? I have the trinity and eldredge down. After all, a lady should know how to help her man tie a fancy tie.
Allysia Lollar Never heard of the plattsburgh, but I'll find out.
Will you marry me?
Haha only if you wear a fancy tie at the wedding!
The plattsburg looks exactly like the windsor. Why do you want this knot?
You're right it does I just thought it looked crisp but it's possible when I saw it in person that gentleman was just more skilled at tying his tie than the others around him

im burrrito Very cool! Nice ties with a nice cause.
Great tie! Used it for homecoming and church and everyone loved it! Thank you for the tutorial.
Prom 2015
Totally get you there
MajorInkPeoples How did it go?
MyNiceTie It was actually pretty fun! the entire event is on my RUclips page lol. Check it out
Nice video.
MyNiceTie Thanks :)
Great quality video! Very slow and comprehensive. I'll be trying this. Friendly fellow suit wearer tip though, never button the bottom button.
Apollo The Sun God Nope, I always button the bottom button. :)
I'm telling you, only the coolest people are not buttoning the top button. :)
If your jacket has three buttons, you are supposed to (by fancy dress code) button the bottom two. MyNiceTie
Chan Smith Based on traditional sartorial style, single-breasted suits should not have the bottom button fastened. On a three button suit jacket, the rule of thumb is (starting at the top button) sometimes, always, never. The top button may be buttoned or not. The middle button should always be buttoned. The bottom button should never be buttoned. The design and cut of modern suits have changed to leave the bottom button unfastened, and do not have the correct fit and drape when it's fastened. While one can fasten their bottom button to attempt to be "cool" or different, the majority of people I come across fastening the bottom button are wearing their suit for the first time. I prefer to wear the suit itself traditionally, and differentiate myself with unique shirts, shoes, ties, and tie knots, of course.
But if you want to be really cool...you just button the bottom two. Am I right? :)
I thought I was going to hate this video, just because it's crazily long for a tie tying video but the annotations really make it a pleasure to navigate when I inevitably lose track of whether that last move was over or under.
Thanks for the comment. We've been wondering what people think of these.

Hey. I just want to say thank you for posting this amazing video. I have seen 2-3 videos on the eldredge knot and I guess I was always doing it wrong, but your title slow beginner is what made me chose your video. So I made this knot before work and people noticed it I love the eldredge knot your video was so helpful, but if you can you said at the end this is not a knot you would use to go to church. I love church I would so want to show off my tie as women show off hats lol you know what I am talking about them big church hats women wear lol,but yeah why is this not a church knot? again thank you for this video I never got the knot right until a found your video. Amazing
nailed it!
Me too but I dont see the relevance of ti
This is a meme for the mess that can happen. See the reddit post/eldridge know btw the guy who invented this thing is on there and speaks about it.
Glad it was helpful.
the clearest and easiest to follow.
Best viewer.
Did he ever get around to tying the tie? I gave up after two minutes of his commercial.
Gonna wear this at my speech meet tomorrow, thanks for the easy tutorial
Yeah been at this for an hour, I'm done for now...
I have spent an hour on this as well... From the begining it looks just impossible to make up the lenght of the wider end right!! But is was worth it. Now I can do this by memory!!
My dad had a few ties, and to me they seemed like the most important thing he was wearing. www.mynicetie.com/blogs/how-to-tie-a-tie/122533889-fathers-day-giving-thanks-to-the-big-guy
Seriously couldn't get this till I watched this video. He gives the best tips! Thanks a bunch im feeling good about this interview
The instructions were very clear and easy to understand. Love this knot!
Excellent Video...
It was a perfect instructional pace. I followed each step as per your instruction and it turned out perfect on first try.
I used the mirror behind my cell phone and paused when necessary. I'll be using it for my son's wedding on January 3rd, 2015. It will show off very dapper under my vest.
Once I completed the knot, I loosened carefully, hung it in my hotel room closet, and am excited to show it off wedding day.
Thanks again, brother. Btw, I did use a solid color (Royal Blue against Black Shirt & Vest) and it looks sharp. Also, it was a normal length tie, so I would recommend if using it over a dress shirt to buy a longer tie, as you mentioned. It will not be a big deal for me because my vest will hide the length of my tie, which is short.
Subscribed.

trying to learn this off by heart because it's the most impressive knot I've ever seen
One of the easiest ways to tie a tie is watching your videos while trying it out . Everyone else liked the tie .👔👔😊
Great job explaining the little details others don't.
Hey handsome
Miko Mays Thanks for noticing. We put a lot of time into doing these videos right.
Awesome! Adding to your favorites list is the best way to remember this knot when you need it in the future.
My favourite knot, can never remember the name of it.
But come on, why not MrNiceTie, you missed a trick there.
turn the music....DOWN, you're fighting the music for viewers concentration on what you're presenting, it's called music under, not over!
Thank you!!! I tried 4 videos prior to this and couldn't do it. This really helped.
Glad you found the best.
Hey gracias amigo, saludos de veracruz mex.
This is my new favorite channel. I wasn't aware that there is such a channel, thank god I found it.
Have a nice day sir, your videos are much appreciated.
Yes, there is such a channel. Welcome.
That is so PRETTY!!! Makes me wish I was a guy & dress up in suits & ties!!! But I like being a girl, thank you very much, hahahahaha!!! Aloha!!!
Well done sir...best demonstration video I've used for this knot.
+Sarah J Thompson What was the occasion for the knot?
Using this tie at my banquet tonight!!
Hi buddy,
Thank you so much for the clearly spoken and detailed instructions. I learned this knot quite a few years back, but I hadn't used it in a long time. Very fashionable and beautiful knot. I watched some other videos here on RUclips, but they were in no way as clear and concise as were your instructions.
I've always loved dressing nice and wearing fashionable clothes, but living in Thailand does not allow me that luxury as much as I would like. I'm a former Marine (love my dress blues) and retired U.S. Army Helicopter Test Pilot, but now I'm an English teacher in Chonburi, Thailand. This does allow me to wear a nice shirt and tie on special occasions, so maybe I'll get in touch with you on your website and see if you can find me some nice shirts, cuff links, ties, tie tacks/pins etc.,
God Bless You and Yours!!!
Thanks again,
Cpt. Michael
P.s. Do not allow some of your comments to get you down, because you provide a wonderful product and service for many appreciative people in the world and God sees all.
I watched this video several times a few weeks ago to practice it, and I'm just now noticing that A. you don't button your collar, and B. you have to tighten the second tunnel. Anyways, thanks for the great video, best tie channel on RUclips!
for prom, i believe a slip-knot is better-suited ;)
Watch the channel of Maxamericano he explains very well step by step how to make a trinity knot and an eldrege knot too
\m/ Greetings fellow Metalhead! Slipknot up!
Whoa! This knot is so saweeeet! But do you know what is also sweet? Seeing your son where a missionary nametag for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. From one Mormon to another... way to be!! :D
Pro tip: This knot is not respected in a real situation where grown up men wear ties. This is a novelty knot for teens.
***** Yeah no. models in GQ wear them. I would say it's pretty classy imo
***** Are you sure that is not a backwoods idea? :)
Aquatarkus Didn't know that.
+BackwoodsBushcraft It's a fairly complex knot, and it's original. I'm all for it.
No it isn't. It's for special ocassions that are not somber, such as opening night at the theater, or even wearing jeans with a sweater on weekends just kicking about. Women notice it and want to strike up conversations with me about it. I like that a lot.
Damn it, i'm not a suit person but i have to... Got to go to a wedding...
So ur tutorial rlly helped man, Thanks U have my gratitude for saving my tie from endless pain
I just want to say your video allowed me to tie my first Eldredge knott. I had watched numerous videos and I could not get it done until yours for some reason, so thank you!
Son, I knew you could!
You are the man.
Imagine what life would be like without the Internet. We would all show up to events with our ties looking all screwed up!
Thanks for the video. I'm going to wear this style to my MPA conference this weekend coming up.
Ben, you might consider the following, mention that this is not a tie one should wear to business....always button your top shirt button, never button the bottom button of a suit.....
4 Years later, this video is still teaching boys to become men. Thanks for the video, was much help!
Awesome, I had a turret (from portal 2) tie that was too long, but with the eldritch knot it fits! thanks :D
I'm Agnostic but my wife is a Jehovah's Witness so I go with her to the Kingdom Hall to support her. This is a great knot that will definitely turn heads. Awesome vid!
brilliant! took me several goes with a picture and couldnt get it right, took me two goes sith this vid and got it perfect :)
What length tie do you purchase to tie this knot and others that use extensive amounts of the tie? can you use a standard length tie??
❤❤❤ thank u for sharing! That’s totally brilliant
Great video! Got it right from the first try thanks to your pacing.. Thank you so much!!!
You're good when it comes to ties, but you should really learn how to button the jacket correctly.
my friend whatever your name is i love how easy and descriptive your video is. you rock buddy
can't they just make a video without the crappy music? it's annoying and distracting
This is hard!!!!!! I've tried for an hour and it looks nothing like that!!!!!!!!
Wow this is a good video. So clear and well I love this knot. People are really noticing

Its great i like it n it look gud
I also tried the same with two ties n it looks awesome thank u
Oh my gosh the one and only tutorial that made me get it right
I bet my "fancy" cousin to do this. Best 20 minutes of my life.
I notice you do all your tie knots with your collar unbuttoned why is that?
I rarely comment on videos I watch, but the way you explained this one, actually came out just perfect! I can see how explaining some ties on camera is challenging, but the steps you take the audience through is easy and I tied it perfect first try!👍🏾👍🏾. You definitely earned my subscription and thank you!
Music to my ears, "first try"!
My AP Calculus teach loved this not , he wears it every da to class
I did it and it came out awesome. Thanks for the vid
At the beginning it could look slow, but when you wan to watch and follow instructions, it is perfect, the best one I found, thanks for the dedication!

Love this knot, I'm definitely going to use this knot for my next wedding party I'm going to, thanks for this video, absolutely helpful.
First attempt: Done perfectly.. Your video is faultless, thank you
Ninjamurai II Absolutely love this comment. You are too kind.
I cannot do it at all but you did a good job demonstrating.
1) Great comment. Thorough and to the point.
2) I love the bullet points. Very easy to follow. I wish more people would use them in comments.
3) The only possible change on future comments is. . . well, nothing. Thanks for the thought. I've been planning on posting a mirror version for some time. Will do when I get a second.
Very clear instructions, thanks a lot!!
I love this knot. I used this video to tie all the ties for my brother and all his groomsmen, at his wedding. I have also used it at promotional testings. I got both promotions, must be the slick knot, which everyone notices.
Had a busy day a couple of days ago, and felt like dressing up for it. But the tie I had was a thinner, silky tie, and the windsor knot just wasn't working for me. A google search directed me to this video, and the knot looked awesome, so I gave it a try. My first stop was a play audition, and everyone from the other auditioners to the casting people commented on the knot. Don't know if I'll get the part, but they'll certainly remember me! Later that night was a performance of a play a friend of mine wrote. I didn't know any of the actors, but the next day when i ran into one of them, their first comment was, "Oh, you were the guy with that cool necktie knot last night." Definitely a great way to get people to remember you. Thanks!
David Ament So cool to hear! Did you get the part?
thx ...pretty cool and easy ...after couple of attempts...
I like how you're not rushing through the video and taking your time to explain how to tie the knot. I'll subscribe, even though you're a BYU fan ;) haha
utahjazz9com Go Utes.
Excellent work, Thanks a bunch
Woooooow, I didn't see that coming! I like the nott . Always wondered what happens to the skinny end . Thank you! ! :-}
Awesome knot and even better instructions! I wore the Eldredge knot to a company event last night and I was the talk of the event! Thanks!
You the man!
I had to use my teeth at one moment but i did it...

Sorry, I just cleaned my keyboard.
Really nice video.
I remember trying to tie this knot a couple of months ago but I couln't get it right and now i tied it with my first try (although i had to replay some parts)
Thanks a lot, straight to my favorites
I wish we could favorite fans.
3 button suits.
Sometimes
Always
Never.
Never button the bottom button
Good vid though, I'll try that knot out
Lol. That was a mistake that I now get to regret forever being that it is immortalized in video.
I just tried it at home it worked perfectly.
Great video. Tied this knot yesterday and I LOVE IT! Can you do a Pinwheel knot video? I want to try that next. Thanks!
dimeboytrell I'm going to do a ton more videos when I get time. I'll do that one too.
the eldredge knot is a with both art and sophistication
thanks a lot
Excellent! Thank you, I've been wanting to learn this knot for over a year. Love your pace and explanations during the video, as well. Will be wearing this knot to work today, but I also have a question. What are your thoughts on wearing this to a job interview? You think this is an appropriate setting to sport the Eldridge Knot, or just stick with something traditional, such as the Double Windsor?
I love it. this morning my sonny wanted to wear a tie. he's 5yrs old. we followed the video and after we were done. he said he loved it. it made him feel like a doctor. he said that's what he was going to be when he gets older.
Nice, this knot looks great on doctors!
Looks good, but it shouldn't be tight as "humanly possible" because otherwise you won't be able to widen the top of the tie as he did in the video.
Edgar G. Ok, as tight as "cyborgly possible".
Sorry about that. For some reason, RUclips increases the music volume. We hate it too, but we'll keep the music even lower on the next video.
I got it wright first time ! SUBSCRIBE
Why not to church? It's a badass knot!
Really Helped. Did it on my first try.
Using for a formal dance
Awesome. I had step by step photos, and tried other videos but none had what this video has a good teacher. And for that I thank you
It takes a good student too. You rock!
awesome I like it a lot greetings from Bosnia
I did it! Thank you for this step by step guide. It was easy to follow these instructions. I can't wait to turn heads at work, especially the ladies.
I used this knot for my son's school concert. It worked great because his tie was too long so this knot used up a lot of the tie. Thanks!
